  1. It can be done easily enough using Exit Zones, as explained by ,@Ivan Zaitzev , above...However it is purely a special effect and using it places a number of constraints on the designer. Firstly there's an exit zone where each helo is located, so any units from the same side entering that area will leave the map.....This can be accounted for by placing a very clearly marked 'Evac Zone' or similar on the map (this area should not be part of the player's Setup Zone). Place the helos near the edge of the 'Evac Zone' and the troops that are supposed to be landing from them just outsideit, in the player's Setup Zone itself. On setup the player will see the helos and troops, but when he clicks go the helos will vanish. The other and more significant issue is the usual constraints that Exit Zones place upon the use of Destroy Unit Objectives. HTH
  2. Do you want me to send you a copy that I know is good? PS - The map is a resource hog, so it's best to start a fresh CM:FI session and then go directly to the editor (& if you make changes, save regularly).
  3. It takes a really long time to load, even on my new monster, but it does work.....It's a huge urban area and well worth the wait (don't click anything when it is loading). That's very odd, as these (or one of them at least), are definitely the maps I'd seen before (the labelling is very distinctive).....Was there ever a pre-release version, and if so, why would it have disappeared from my system?
  4. I've not been so methodical about it, but I'm on my fourth or fifth R2V scenario now, selected at random.....All of them have been thoroughly enjoyable, I've won just over half. However, none of them have yet superseded 'Biazzo Ridge' (which IIRC was a stock scenario in the initial release) as my all time favourite CM:FI scenario.
  5. TBH, dirt aside, that's pretty much spot on for a KG Peiper Kingtiger.
  6. Dude, as you know I have all the CM products and I reinstalled from full installers not that long ago (with your help).....But there was no sign of these maps in my install. PS - @rocketman PM received with thanks. PPS - Just looked at them in the editor, they are definitely the maps I remember, which means they didn't come with R2V.....@BFCElvis, is it possible that the Master Maps folder was somehow overwritten when I installed R2V?
  7. @rocketman Is there any chance you could post those somewhere please? I have the Venafro map in my Master Maps folder, but the Cassino maps didn't appear for me, despite owning everything (& I do mean everything).
  8. Dude we all have our gripes, with these games believe me (for instance, with an experienced crew, a beam riding missile should not trigger a 'Laser Warning' until the moment before it hits).....However the question you have to ask yourself, at the end of the day, is "What game could I play that models this stuff better?".
  9. New game, new valley! Welcome to Balkanistan (formerly Fragmentistan): Some of you may recognize this one, especially if you play CM:FB.
  10. Thanks.....Not really detailed enough for my purposes TBH. Reckon Azov might do a walkaround for me?
  11. Do you know where I could find decent images of an Azov T-64BM.....I'd like to convert one from the Modelcollect kit.
  12. Really? What are they called please.....I was sure that I'd seen maps of Cassino including the monastary, when browsing in the scenario editor (and intended to post here to that effect), but I can't find them now.
  13. To me, it sounds like he's worked out exactly how to use PGMs to best effect IMHO.....Not gamey at all IMHO, especially in an ultramodern game modelling 'the networked battlefield'.
  14. Might I further suggest that the low loss rate might be down to good tactics on the commander's part.....If your US forces are suffering high losses, perhaps you should refine your own? Mine certainly don't:
  15. You could maybe park the M8 on a really tall building and then drop it on the Kingtiger.....That might do the trick. BTW - Are you sure you are thinking of the right M8.....I suspect this one might be a more likely candidate: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Howitzer_Motor_Carriage_M8 This one had access to a 75mm HEAT round, so it would have a chance at damaging a Kingtiger.
