  3. TBH the main thing that I got from that aricle was that defence companies appear to be systematically giving their creations unneccessarily complex and obscure names, purely in order to get a cool Acronym!
  4. On balance I'd probably recommend CM:RT-F&R, despite CM:FI-R2V being possibly my favourite CM release.
  5. I've managed to get Ukrainians equipped with Javelins, but I can't get them to fire them (area target vs. a house).....Has anyone managed to get a Ukrainian unit to acquire and use a Javelin vs. armour?
  6. Reckon dodgy transmissions (Panther, this means you! ) should be factored in too.....Significantly increased chance of becoming Immobilized after bogging.
  7. It's a Javelin.....99% of that explosion is the secondary, remember it's a VBIED and the missile just set it off.
  8. I find Shermans utterly boring in all the other games, but I truly love the Emcha in CM:RT.....Especially in the later period when you can have whole companies of M4A2(76).
  9. Still buying all the aftermarket bits for the Hind.....I have a Mi.2 Hoplite to do first, I already have almost everything for that one (yes I know it's not as sexy as a Hind). If I get my **** together and start work on it in any meaningful way I'll open a thread on Britmodeller (same ID as here) and put a link somewhere where you can find it. It's already in all of the Modern titles.
  10. How about a variant background for late 2024.....After a series of unfortunate border incidents, the Mexican government purchases Iskander & S-400 systems from Russia and invites Russia to establish a series of military bases accross the country. Wonder how that one might play out?

  12. Has anybody been able to get Ukrainian troops to fire Javelin in the game? I've created a very large (regimental sized) core file where Ukrainians can use Acquire to get Javelin CLUs & missiles from (Ex-Stryker) ammo dumps.....However they seem very reluctant to use them, against a building in my initial tests. Setting things up so they can take a pot-shot at a tank (before the rest of the three mech battalions obliterate it) is a lot of work, so before I undertake it.....Does anyone already know the answer? @MOS:96B2P @Combatintman @MikeyD

  17. I think it may be even less than that to maintain Fast speed, couldn't say for certain, but 22.50 might make sense (given the general format).

I can do $100 US on a single 1/72 model quite easily including aftermarket parts, custom decals & other extras.....I have the Zvezda Mi.24P (with the twin barrel 30mm cannon), I'm planning on getting interior & exterior etched detail sets, a resin cockpit & engine bay, resin weapons, the list goes on (& on & on). PS - If you move up to 1/35 the level of detail possible is insane, I have a 1/35 AMX-13 and a few detail sets for it, the smallest parts in the detail sets are individual wingnuts (to fasten the clamps that hold the on-vehicle tools in place), each one requires two folds/twists to form the correct shape!

It is getting a bit easier to model ruined terrain, but that's just not the same as persistent map damage, quite apart from anything else it's impossible to model progressive damage to an area as each player will wreck stuff in his own personal way. This feature should be a priority for the next CM engine IMHO, losing it was one of the few retrograde steps between CM1 & CM2 (in some ways CM1 had better options for handling campaigns).
