  1. Did you formerly work at the US embassy in Havana by any chance?
  2. Three weeks to test my creation and then write documents attempting to explain it!
  3. One of the last things I was working on before my modelling kind of ground to a halt was a pair of heavily battleworn SU-152s.....The Trumpeter kits hadn't come out back them so I was kitbashing PST KV-1 parts with the Pegasus Quickbuild SU-152. One of my reasons for doing this was so I could model worn out torsion bars on the front suspension, which changes the sit of the vechicle and seems to enhance the already fairly pronounced track sag, this is the look I'm after: PS - Damn there's a lot of people on the internet who don't know the difference between a SU-152 and an ISU-152 or even an ISU-152M!
  4. It's staggering the amount of tat you accumulate.....The biggest thing in my spares box is about 3/4 of a Revell 1/72 B&V 222 Wiking! The reason it happens is simple, here's a recent example.....I'm planning on building a M2A3 Bradley BUSK, using the Dragon 1/72 kit: I just bought a Revell 1/72 Bradley kit, for one part, to replace something Dragon did poorly. I may well end up using the Revell tracks & sprockets too, just because I love 'L&L' and hate Dragon's single piece 'rubber-bands'.
  5. Loaded and worked just fine for me.....I'm on a fairly grunty PC, my (Battlefront) CM:CW install is patched to the latest update (1.03 IIRC). PS - @dbsapp When @Halmbarte had an issue like this with 'Ashsh Al Dababir' I was able to run his turn, re-save it and when I sent it back the file started working for him again. I'm wondering, if I moved one or two units and re-save the file whether you might be able to play it again? Here's the re-saved file if you want to try it (I moved the three vehicles of your MANPADS platoon by about a tile each): https://www.dropbox.com/s/xtztdcghadp14ch/Soviet Campaign - Mis4start Reboot.bts?dl=0 It's unusually big for a save game at 56mb.....Might this be part of the issue?
  6. Maybe we should open a modellers' thread.....I've kinda trashed @kohlenklau's thread!
  7. I know.....But why do they seem to spot better in cooler/damper conditions? What's the explanation for that?
  8. Are you absolutely sure about that? Because if you are not..... I'm not sure either BTW, but it pays not to underestimate CM in my experience.
  9. I design single player stuff against the AI.....Haven't ever played CM2 head to head (although I played CM1 that way a fair bit).
  10. I went Dragon for my SU-100s, my ISU-122s are PST, I have ISU-152s from all three companies (Italeri, PST, Zvezda). In reference to my previous post and your Kingtiger, I have a staggering amount of 1/72 spare parts (at least a cubic metre of them).....Just let me know what you need.
  11. 1/72? I have both of those in 1/72. They're nice kits but the single piece hard plastic tracks can be a pain.....I prefer L&L. I bought loads of the Italeri IS-2, ISU-152 & ISU-122S kits, then found out they're a bit underscale, probably closer to 1/76.....It's OK if you use them together, or in isolation, but if you put them alongside a PST or Zvezda kit, they look a bit dinky!
  12. Do you build for display, or gaming? Unusually I'm going to second @John Kettler here and put in a recommendation for Too Fat Lardies 'Chain of Command' & 'I Ain't Been Shot Mum'. https://toofatlardies.co.uk/
  13. That would be awesome. TBH the ability to see both sides' units simultaneously in a 3d Preview Mode would be great too.
  14. I think that's actually APFSDS rounds dude: M60 turret penetration by a DM-63 APFSDS round Doubtful. It's not multiple warheads, it's a MEFP. Those smaller multiple penetrators wouldn't be powerful enough to seriously trouble a modern(ish) MBT, even the more powerful single penetrator mode might struggle with a truly modern MBT, hence all those sabot rounds in the othe half of the ammo rack.
  15. Don't breach inward, breach along the face of the building or wall.....It's not 100% reliable, but it should stop your engineers entering a structure or compound. I place a covering squad (preferably with a LMG and lots of grenades) on the same spot as the engineers, then have my engineers Blast to the next spot along the wall and then Hunt back to their starting place. This way if there's someone in there they get suppressed by the blast then hammered by the covering squad and then your engineers get to join in too, instead of charging straight into a hornet' nest.** I'd recommend switching to Iron Mode and learning the intricacies of C2 in some detail (it doesn't make the game more difficult, but it does help you to learn who can see what and more importantly, who they are telling about it). C2 is everything in CM.....If your units know where each other are and are communicating properly they become orders of magnitude more lethal. ** The potential downside to this is that it doubles your casualties if a devious scenario designer had, for instance, placed a Huge IED against a wall that he knows you are likely to breach. Come into the old city, infidel, we dare you!
  16. Very, very nice work. Sadly the images here are only showing as thumbnails for me (but I saw your pics elsewhere).
