King Tigers in Paris (Summer 1944)
Sgt.Squarehead replied to John Kettler's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
Your memory serves you well. PS - I recommend Von Rosen's memoir as he was a keen amateur photographer and consequently it is illustrated like no other 'Panzer Ace' type memoir that I can immediately think of.....Also he doesn't strike as a terribly ardent nazi, which is nice. -
The whole point of that monster tracked carriage was to minimize the setup & emplacement time on a gun with such heavy recoil. Also there's a big difference in the degree of setup & emplacement required for the gun to fire directly at what is effectively point blank range, compared to conducting a sustained indirect fire barrage.

Released: Mord's Allah's Army Sound Mod v2
Sgt.Squarehead replied to Mord's topic in Combat Mission Shock Force 2
I take it this will work OK from my Z folder? I'm running multiple installs and I don't think these would fit too well in Bong-Hai. -

Outta likes.....Trust that I do. -
CM:BB didn't actually cover the 1939 Winter War, it started with the 1941 Continuation War (however it wasn't hard to model the earlier battles as most of the required units were present).
-
Agreed.....MGS isn't exactly overloaded with ammo to start with and it's job is definitely not hunting for modern main battle tanks.

Cool! How's this coming along.....A bit of 'Cops & Robbers' might be just the thing to sort my mood out! -
Me too.....Same scenarios, same order (same result in 'Brutal').

Check this thread: -
Reverse image search on the Yandex engine is a particularly powerful tool in this regard too.

If I had to guess I'd say the smoke is at the heart of it.....When @umlaut selects the team, the tank vanishes and you can see the smoke cloud appears to cover its 'Centre Body Mass'. Might this be the cause do you think?

Interesting, & IMHO convincing, rebuttal to another article that I know has been posted around here somewhere, but which I can't currently find: https://mwi.usma.edu/city-not-neutral-urban-warfare-hard/ However I thought the denizens of this thread might find it worthwhile, if they've not read it already.

China, Israel, France and other TO&Es!?!
Sgt.Squarehead replied to philstat's topic in Combat Mission Black Sea
Regrettably my stuff will definitely require NATO & Marines. -
If neccessary you can set up a 'stooge formation' just to provide extra mortar (& other) ammo to your main units.....Just add a similar sized unit, set all the vehicles to dismounted to provide your ammo dump(s), then delete everything you can from the formation, before setting whatever remains to arrive in a post-battle reinforcement slot.

That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Unless you are trying to trick gullible westerners: -

Man I'd kill for that (although the maps would take quite a while to make), but the current limit is something like 4km x 4km or 5km x 3km. -
If everyone stuck to the same naming/tagging conventions, IMHO this would be an excellent idea.
