  1. No matter how many installs of a game you make, they all share the same folder in documents AFAIK (my seperate CM:SF2 & CM:H&E installs share the same folder in documents, so all mods have to go into root/Data/z).
  2. Wasn't it particularly common with naval infantry units, or am I mixing it up with another semi-auto rifle?
  3. At a guess, you need to share your User/Documents/Battlefront/Combat Mission Black Sea folder (I believe that's the correct filepath, basically it's the folder in Documents) with your son's account.
  4. Do you add exclusions for the game folders in Windows Defender (or whatever they are currently calling it).....That's the current suspect in @Erwin's difficulties.
  5. Set up an exclusion for that whole folder.....Open defender, navigate to 'Virus & threat protection settings', scroll down and select 'Exclusions'. That's the only extra thing I've done and all the games work fine for me (barring irritating out of memory errors in CM:A). PS - If you have a subfolder within C:\SIMS for CM, you could set up the exclusion for that instead.
  6. @puje is the best man to advise you there fella.....Hopefully he will pop in shortly.
  7. Between them & the LMG team on the upper level, they took out well over twenty men! It's ironic that the Najibullah regime arguably did better against the Mujahideen than any of the prior, fully Soviet supported, regimes.....It didn't last of course, the 'War Of Rockets' saw to that.
  8. Sounds nightmarish TBH! This is often where the 'Pause' mentioned earlier can come in handy. As soon as you take the building, pause the unit and maybe even hide them, while moving fresh units into & through their position to continue the fight. This should keep them in place and give them some time to recover before taking up the fight again themselves.
  9. In my experience it does.....Hence my recommendation on the first page. I recommend creating a folder within your chosen program drive (D: for me), named something like CM Installs, then install everything to that location and create an exception for the whole folder in Windows Defender (it's what I've done and everything works for me). You may need to make a similar exception in any other AV software you are running. PS - @Schrullenhaft Would you have any idea how to minimise 'Out Of Memory Errors' in CM:A or CM:SF1 with Win10? If so could you PM please, so as not to derail @Erwin's thread again.
  10. Seven IIRC. Appaerntly it was six (total):
  11. Try using something lke FRAPS to make your screenies: https://www.fraps.com/
  12. Best bet is to use something like Dropbox and then post a link here.
  13. Bagration was hardly kind on German armour.....5th Pz. was a spent force after that operation. TBH it's not so much the Berlin fighting, as all the other stuff we will be able to do (Partisans), that appeals to me the most.
  14. That's a point in itself.....In the anti-tank role I'd take an IS-2 over a Bazooka every time! TBH wartime Soviet rocketry seems to be a really mixed bag.....Their real fascination with fireworks only kicked off after WWII, notably under Kruschev.
  15. If you rewind the replay and watch it again, does the jumping persist?
  16. As a quick experiment in what I'm talking about.....In iron mode, use a two man scout team to find an enemy unit, then send them back to their parent squad and watch to see how that information spreads up and accross your formation (during a turn click on units and see if they've received the info). Keep an eye on your units' C2 status (the little box with a picture of a radio, a shouty man, or an eye), if the information isn't (slowly) spreading somebody isn't talking to somebody else, using 'Visible Command Links' (Alt+Z) can help you to figure out who that is. I highly recommend you study @MOS:96B2P's posts on the subject of C2 & informaton sharing.....Hopefully he might pop in with a link or two for you.
  17. IIRC someone posted a picture around here quite recently that showed Soviet recon troops with a Ford GPA, Bazooka and a selection of Panzerfausts.
  18. Ths can sometimes be a bit misleading and IMHO it doesn't really help.....AFAIK it doesn't make things any easier, it just throws more information at you. Consequently you don't get to learn how that information is passed through your formation in quite the same way that you would when playing Iron Mode. Information is everything in CM, the more your units know, the better they will perform.....The easier modes can give the impression that units know much more than they do. Iron Mode is actually the easiest way forward in terms of learning how to get the best out of the game engine IMHO.
  19. Cheers for the tip.....I'm gonna be in the editor later, so I'll give it a look.
  20. Use them within their capabilities, they won't do much to a Panther, but they can ruin a command halftrack's day easily enough. Yes they did.....The Russians also got their hands on quite a few ex-German AT weapons, I recall reading reports of them capturing several thousand Panzerfausts at a time.
