  1. Short on time here, but in brief: -First priority was in suppressing the enemy. Medical aid came second. -Once suppression was attained, then we would go to work in treating causalities. After all, a dead/incapacitated medic doesn't do anyone any good.
  2. I'm trying to imagine applying buddy aid while prone, and it just doesn't make sense. It would be terribly cumbersome trying to perform buddy aid on someone while prone. Plus, in all my years as a medic in the Army, never once were we trained in treating casualties while in the prone position.
  3. LOL at the Garand comment. It takes only one session (heck, one clip) firing a Garand to see what an excellent weapon it is. German semi-autos (namely, the G43) were finicky about the quality of ammo with which they were loaded and were known for their parts failures. SVT-40: decent weapon and OK accuracy, but a lot of internal parts, which in the field are easy to lose; gas cylinder which must be constantly adjusted with a special tool in order to keep it firing properly (AKA, yet another thing to lose in the field).
  4. Yes, troops with demo charges can clear wire obstacles.
  5. 502nd? Isn't that an Airborne unit? If so, your guys should have demo charges (unless you used them all up in a previous mission).
  6. Well, there is a reference on page 97 of the manual to radios being "tricky things to operate effectively as distances increase." Whether this actually refers to radio reliably being modeled in the game, I dunno.
  7. Yeah, it and the MG34 share the same sound, which is terribly bland.
  8. While the P-39 was indeed sent to the Eastern Front, Soviet pilot memoirs are adamant that they were not primarily used in the ground attack role. This discussion also makes me wonder what type of role the Il-2 will play once CM returns to the Eastern Front.
  9. It's the rarely-seen Krummlauf anti-tank gun.
  10. Aha! Now it makes sense. I was one of those who though he needed to clear the town to accomplish the mission.
  11. Splitting squads can affect morale, as the leader of the newly-created unit often has a lower leadership level than that of his parent unit.
  12. Very nice man as well. He still accepts autograph requests mailed to his pharmacy in Germany.
  13. ...and then there's the 7.62x54R round, which fires at about 2,800 fps from an M91/30.
  14. Personally, I don't see the need for medics. The current buddy-aid system is realistic and works just fine, whatever formation it may be.
  15. Yeah, this mission is a royal pain. I just tried it and got stomped hard.
  16. Interview with 3 German snipers: http://wethearmed.com/index.php?topic=8603.0
  17. Not quite: http://www.axishistory.com/index.php?id=2031
  18. Agreed. It just isn't right that a K98 has the same sound as a Garand. If nothing else, have one sound for bolt-action rifles (K98 and M1903) and one for semi-autos (G43 and Garand).
  19. Because it would make technical support for BF a living hell.
  20. I noticed this at the startup for the "It's a New Dawn" scenario, but I've noticed it in others as well. This circled tree will flicker like crazy all the time - it doesn't matter if the POV camera is moving or not. I'm running an ATI card with the latest drivers, if it matters.
