  1. plus you agreed to a EULA that says you can't. Per the EULA User-created scenarios and other materials like graphics or other mods may be distributed free of charge, but shall not be sold, licensed, or included as part of any package or product that is sold or licensed, without the prior written consent of Battlefront.com, Inc.. You may not rent or lease the Software or related materials. Now if there was a way to meet the requirement ASL noted above AND get BF's agreement...
  2. LOL the super SECRET squirrel club decided Japanese have audio hearing problems? Did they actually interview any Japanese? Do they know any Japanese to interview? Let me ask my wife, hold on... oh crap that look again- "stupid f**kin Gaijin, where do you come up with this crap?" Never mind honey, never mind. Hey Macisle, how about asking yours? I know I am stretching things here but you do know you can adjust the audio setting even on headphones so it isn't like lying next to a regular speaker right..... hmm maybe that was a different SECRET class.
  3. in other words, the bar may be low, but I am still at the bar.
  4. To be fair that was a specific bug. The general point that scenarios and campaign are not reviewed as the game gets tweaked is true. It is simply a level of labor that just isn't practical. For example the tweaks to MG suppression did not see a wholesale revisiting of scenarios and it isn't realistic to expect it. However it can and has made some scenarios more difficult. That to me is not a reason NOT to buy. It is I agree an odd point to make and the usual "find something, anything to make a negative comment", but it isn't technically wrong. What game company ever goes back and redesigns all it's scenarios to take advantage of a new feature? CMBN definitely has more material especially with the battle pack coming. I don't see that ever changing. The general interest level in CMBN will always be higher. As a starting point it is a better entry game than CMFI. That being said I still love CMFI.
  5. I'm on the fence on this one as it goes back to what does the player know versus what does the vehicle know. When a vehicle is lased, it has no idea what lased it or the threat level. To have it's reaction be based on the player's knowledge gets into a chancy area for me while I can also understand the frustration. On the one hand I can see the argument that if I get lased and I KNOW there is a BMP facing me, my best option might actually be to kill it. Popping smoke is more a defense for the BMP than my M1. But if that lase had come from something else that now has a sweet shot at me and I delay to kill the BMP..... What would a real life crew do? Time for some input from our folks who have actual knowledge.... what would be standard practice? Survival first by employing defensive assets, or kill the known enemy in the hopes they are the source?
  6. I played poking the bear more time than you can imagine while testing it. AA is really hard to judge in that and my results were all over the map. Both blue and Red. Just when I thought stingers were absolutely useless I would hit a run where they totally cowed the Hinds. When I'd get comfortable about my ability to take out TGs with Apaches I suddenly would start losing them right and left. When I got comfortable that taking out the TGs gave me free run the Strelas would start scoring hits. I was also testing while AA was still being tweaked so if I was to fire it up now I still wouldn't be sure what to expect.
  7. part of why the appeal of beach landings is more in the theory than the practice is- it is a straight up frontal assault. If you can't simply swamp the beach defenses in men and fire power you will lose. There is no subtlety. It looks amazing, but from a player command perspective there is little to do. Smoke would be the most effective item to allow you to close with the beach defenses, assuming you have it. And I don't mean smoke grenades, but artillery smoke.
  8. same here been years, but there are some things to note. A squad can consist of 2 or 3 teams- in the UI you will see that by how many columns there are. If you select split teams, those columns separate into two or three teams depending on the number of columns. You can also select specialist teams - assault, AT and scout etc Assault in CMBN from a cursory look essentially splits off the first team in an american squad leaving the other two teams still joined. AT will be a unit with whatever AT weapons they have... a AT rifle grenade, a Baz etc. Scout just grabs two bait guys. I have almost never used the assault team. I either split the squad or I break off the AT or a scout. Note breaking off a scout and then splitting the remaining squad can sometimes get you better heavy firepower teams as it doesn't adhere to the column teams. In a squad where you have only two teams, breaking off the scout will dump everyone else into a single team with all the squads remaining firepower. There is a lot of flexibility in the command depending on your force.
  9. just before the "at". (one of my father's lines) or here http://community.battlefront.com/topic/119396-the-peng-challenge-thread-some-one-get-me-a-drink-and-tell-me-whats-going-on-eh/page-10
  10. Ha, I've done it so it isn't that hard
  11. there are several. There is a manual for the Combat Mission itself (Actually 3 as each update included one) and there is a specific manual for CMFI as well as one eventually for Gustav Line
  12. what?! He's been borrowing my doody hat? Copyright infringement!! or sumfink.
  13. Yeah, but I have been known to be wrong.
  14. you may want to start with the helpdesk. I haven't uninstalled in a little bit but I was asked in the process to unlicense. Better to ask than to create a problem unnecessarily. from the knowledgebase (this info applies only to games using eLicense, e.g. CMSF. Newer games are using a different Online Activation System and do not need to be unlicensed) The important piece of info first: When you have a module, you do not need to do anything - ever again - with the base game alone. No need to unlicense or relicense it etc. All of this is taken care of automatically when you do something with a module: for example, unlicensing a module automatically also unlicenses your base game. So, in order to unlicense simply use the "Unlicense..." link under Start->Programs->Battlefront->.
  15. Grenade grog eh? You need to buy this game
  16. rotflmao, just noticed this was tagged "sburke is a fanboy". way too funny. And yes I am a fanboy. Proud of it actually cause CM is a kick a** game. Random Thought and suggestion Started by Lacroix, Today, 12:48 PM What is even funnier, is I like the idea, totally in favor of urban battlegrounds. I do have a large map posted that is mostly hills and open country but does include a small town in it I tried to fill out to look modern. Still working on what would be a larger city map. sburke is a fanboy
  17. yeah stingers are very much a hail mary thing. I have watched them not fire as they were standing 100 meters away from their truck which was being taken out by a Hind as they were facing the direction of the incoming missile. I could almost hear the losers - "hey cool man check that out."
  18. we can get you a hat you know. I have it set to automatically accept fellow doody hats.
