    The 3-tone digital camo applies to this vehicle because it's the most advanced as the Oplot, and the only remaining UA vehicle that could display it without too much commotion. Intensive weathering for the lower parts, usual for the rest.

    A mod for both BMP-2 and BMP-2k in UA ranks. This time I went for a quite strong weathering, because these vehicles are used by infantry too.
    The base color was slightly changed to be a bit darker.

    Hello,
     
    I have a scenario in need of testing. Resupply at Kharalyk. This is a CM:SF style scenario where a U.S. Stryker Platoon and Ukr Mech Platoon move to relieve a pair of Ukrainian checkpoints that are under attack from Separatists.
     
    This is the first scenario I've done that has a variable ORBAT. This means there is a chance for the enemy force to be different each time you play the mission. There are a total of 4 different ORBATs.
     
    Small scenario, 40 mins, early morning with light rain, Blufor only.
     
    My Goals:
     
    Create a Scenario that focused on combat against irregular forces. Utilize the range of modern weapons within that context. Use a wider battle space than would normally be used for a scenario of this size.  
    My worries;
     
    Victory Points might be trash right now (I'm not particularly great at doling these out) Some variable ORBATs my be very difficult. The open nature of the map may be too difficult for the force in use. Situation portion of the briefing:
     
    The Ukrainian Army established a checkpoint on the outskirts of Kharalyk to control the movement of the Separatist “Lysenko” Battalion in August. It has recently established a second checkpoint to cover both bridges into the town. The establishment of the second checkpoint coincides with increased logistical support from Russia as the front draws nearer.

    Within the last few days the “Lysenko” Battalion has made a concerted effort to isolate the two posts and has prevented resupply of the garrison. All attempts have been turned back by RPG and SPG-9 ambushes on the roads between Burty and Kharalyk. Ammunition and other supplies are getting critically low, especially at the newer and less fortified northern checkpoint.

    A force consisting of a Stryker Platoon from the newly arrived NATO Expeditionary Force and a platoon of Ukrainian troops move out in the morning to break the blockade. Meanwhile the “Lysenko” Battalion prepares to assault and destroy the checkpoints to secure their control over the area.
     
    If anyone is interested shoot me a PM or post here and I'll send you the scenario when I get a chance. I'll also probably post a link here when I get it uploaded to a hosting site.

    It can take some time to acquire ammo and equipment from a vehicle.  One of the things that I found can help is the use of a two man scout team or AT team.  I split a two man team (scout or AT) off from the squad.  Now this two man team can be used to acquire ammo for the rest of the squad while the squad can remain on line fighting.  Also the two man team is small enough it can get in most vehicles to acquire the needed ammo.  After acquiring the ammo the two man team then returns to the same action spot as the rest of the squad.  The game automatically recombines the teams into one squad and distributes the ammo among all the teams.  Next turn you can split the squad back into fire teams.  The teams / squad will distribute ammo and continue to shoot while recombining however there will be some danger while all the teams are bunched together.  
     
    Below are some screenshots taken from CMBN reference acquiring supplies from an ammo dump. While the time period is different and does not involve a vehicle the concept is the same with a two man team getting supplies for the rest of the squad.  (Just ignore the C2 reference. That was for a different topic.)
     

     
     

     
    This method still takes the same amount of time but it keeps most of the squad in the fight and the two man team will almost always be able to get in the vehicle to acquire the needed ammo.  Getting that two man team sent off in a timely manner to acquire the ammo is also important.  Hope this helped and gave you some ideas.

    Recall topic, here is a list of all the mods released until now, complete with download links.
     
    Please be careful to distinguish High Definition (HD) and Standard versions (where not specified, consider it a Standard version). 
     
    HD mods are made using textures 2 times larger, in resolution, than the original game files, providing a much detailed view effect at close distance at the expense of computer resource usage, therefore HD mods can slow down your computer and should be used only if you have good FPS (frames per second); in case you can try to use them and see if your machine doesn't slow down too much.
    Standard versions are there for those with less powerful computers, being of the very same resolution as the original textures they have no effect on FPS. There's no other difference between Standard and HD mods but for the resolution.
    Please note that there's no ground mod standard version as per now, because it will take quite some work to be done well and for now it's not a priority.
     
    There are no new mods on this list, so be sure to download what you need or missed. Please browse this forum thread if you look for more information and previews.

    Plans for next mods:
    Vehicles!
    Personally, I am very fond of the base color for Ukrainian vehicles, and I wouldn't change it too much. Weathering should be added to all vehicles, not too intense though.
    Some vehicles might be Worth alternative camouflage (T-64 Bulat, T-84 Oplot).
    US vehicles have a very nice camouflage already, they should get some weathering as well.
    Russian vehicles, a mess. I really don't like most of the base colors, and might be waiting for BTR's mods before doing anything with them.
     
    Infantry!
    No intentions to mod infantry or uniforms. I feel like weapons could be weathered a bit to make them less "toy" like. otherwise I really like the uniforms, might be nice to add some of Aris' faces from other CM games. 
    I might desaturate russian camouflage, but that's just a personal taste.
     
    Independent buildings!
    Some of them are ok, some are not for me. I'd like to mod those but it takes a lot of time. Tanks a Lot barns should fit CMBS as well (the large ones for sure). It's Worth to try a port.
     
    Bridges!
    Could use a lot of love, tried modding them, but it takes a lot of time. Might do the road ones just for the sake of adding the same road type of the modded roads.
     
    Flavor objects!
    Yeah, not much to notice here, but the larger objects could use higher resolution textures.
     
    More modular buildings!
    add-on number 2 is already half ready, 4 more buildings which will bring the total to 16 options if creating a new scenario.
    Another version of the modular buildings, with "combat effects", should be added as a [Tagged] version.
     
    Highway!
    Highway Tiles could be modded, but in my opinion the only good highway is the one going NS and EW... I could try to port a [tagged] mod to use those Tiles for airport and military installation scenarios.

    I can really encourage doing something in the editor - a ton of fun. Check out "Proambulator" on Youtube, great video tutorials.
     
    How about a fictional encounter on D-Day morning, with all the scattered paratroopers making up small groups that ran into German positions. Can be small but interesting and not entirely implausible.

    They replace the white picket fences. They're nice but I wanted something a bit grimmer. It is nothing special but it might be useful until Kieme or Juju release something better. Same resolution as the default picket fence.

    I also got these dingy run down and rusty corrugated walls that replace stone walls. Not sure whether it is worth it to upload them, I am not entirely satisfied with them.     I had this idea for a while and thought it worth sharing:
     
    Right now, in the editor, we can make different AI-setups and plans. That helps replayabaility a lot. But what if we could instead designate zones and positions, and then let the game deploy its troops in those?
     
    Example: Instead of the designer placing a machinegun in position A, B, or C, he places maybe 20 different "potential MG position" markers on the map. Then he places 40 "potential infantry position" markers, etc. When the mission starts, the game randomly places its machineguns and infantry in those positions. So instead of having maybe 3 different AI setups, you get 20x40 combinations, so you never know where the enemy will be.
     
    However, there should still be the option for the designer to place certain assets in certain positions, so while the enemy AT-gun might be in either position A, B, or C, the rest would be randomised - or any other combination you could think of.

    One suggestion I do have for the new repository is to have a section for general CMx2 engine mods that work in all the games. As an example my "Arrow Unit Bases" mod works in all CMx2 games. If we had that I would not have to load the mod into each separate game repository for people to find it easily.

    Pretty much what it says. When you add this to your game you'll get static laden radio chatter coming from all your vehicles (while sitting and moving).
     
    SEE the readme for all the info.
