I think you´re both right and wrong - depending on what you mean by "in the end". 🙂

SS troops were certainly not just "ordinary" soldiers and germans to begin with. You had to live up to certain physical, racial and ideological standards to be allowed to join the SS, including the Waffen SS. In other words you had to be an "aryan" and a die hard nazi to be admitted.
But as the war wore on and the power of the SS grew, the Waffen SS transformed from an elite unit into an army rival to the Wehrmacht. So the racial and ideological requirements were gradually slackened and replaced by conscription in order to fulfill the Waffen SS´ ever growing need for more fresh recruits.
So yes, in the end of the war, the Waffen SS soldiers were just ordinary germans that happend to have been drafted by the SS instead of the Wehrmacht.

All 35 individual scenarios are now uploaded.
I've modified some of the battles to reflect campaign losses, however you may want to do more.
It may be worth amending some and releasing as Quick Battle maps.

Love the screenshots...and AAR, really capturing the spirit of why this campaign was built, thank you.
Bouck's outfit had spent the week prior improving the ridge position with overhead cover.
A bit tricky to model in the design as you go from foxholes to a more formidable bunker structure.
I went with bunker in the end, to provide some mortar protection, making the scenario more of challenge.
Also the scenario abstracts the fighting in the area throughout the day, showing the earlier bug out of TD teams, leaving Bouck's men to fight it out.
The Devil's Adjutant provided much of the information and timeline within the campaign build... so a good accompanying read to use as a comparison as you progress.

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukah and Happy New Year and anything else going on for y'all!
I have been delayed in my progress in RollBahnD campaign due to the evil real world, but finally have finished second mission.  What an excellent infantry fight.  And the visuals look just like pictures from the era, rolling terrain, woods, fields, fences.
Here, paratroopers advancing into the unknown in the dull, overcast afternoon light, wondering what awaits them in the village/ridge beyond.

I take the buildings in the village area, get some eyes on the ridge.  I spot enemy assets and begin hitting with mortars and MG fire.  As the battle develops, I have a three pronged attack forming using ~safe areas of approach.  Left via dead ground below ridge, right through the woods, and the least safe route up the center, which will wait until the wings engage.  Enemy MGs appear to be knocked out and so once in position I use mortars for smoke left & right then attack.  One tough bunker falling at a time, via small arms suppression then panzershreks.  Right and left flanks, respectively shown below.

Now the middle moves up and engages while the flank attackers knock out bunkers one by one....

But the toughest Ami of the war just won't flee or surrender -- he won't even stop firing when there's hundreds of bullets hitting all around him!

Alas, he is finally wounded and the panzershrecks move in to finish off the bunker.  Total german victory, low casualties.  I did have one cheat point in the spirit of full disclosure.  An enemy MG that I was flanking was shooting through a bunker that I expected would provide cover/concealment for my movement -- I thought this was un-physical so went back to previous save and didn't assume that.

All in all, great fun.  Currently reading The Devil's Adjutant, about Peiper's advance, and this really felt right.  On to battle #3, the PanzerSpitze mine incident well known from this and other books on the subject.  I don't know where the mines are and maybe I can somehow miss them?  I am expecting not so, but we'll see.

    little bit of both really.
Rest and resupply is detailed in the later briefings, but pretty limited. Generally some resupply overnight Day3, 4 and 5.
To help out, the Fallshirmjager do get mortar ammo replenished and some resupply at Bullingen when you capture the fuel dump, SN06.

Nearly two years. It's my first crack at a campaign having issued Mission to Maas V2 scenario in Feb 2020, which ended up like a mini campaign in a single scenario.
At one point I decided to break Rollbahn D down into a trilogy, hence there is a part one earlier this year. I issued it just as Cold War and Fire and Rubble was released...great timing!
In the summer I changed my mind and rolled up parts 1,  2 and 3 together and pressed on, aiming for Dec 16th as a release date, which almost didn't happen.
No idea how many hours went in to it...I do still have a day job... if you do check out famous Ardennes pics from 44 you may be able to recognise buildings, down to even lamp posts and trees in some cases. The Church at Merlscheid, Buchholz Wirbelwind, SPWs and US prisoners being escorted back into Honsfeld from the NW, Church in Bullingen, destroyed Panther at Cheneux, Trois Ponts bridge, destroyed Panthers at Stoumont Station to name a few.
Fortunately much of the area is unchanged, the exceptions were Malmedy and Recht which were more difficult. For the most part Google Earth and pre war postcards came in handy, along with Duel In The Mist 1-3, Then and Now, Timo Worsts book on Knittel. I even took a punt on spending a few hundred euros on a copy of Roppelts 700 page memoir auf der Spur. So I guess Google Translate deserves a mention too. I hope to make my first trip out there in 2022.
Previous to this campaign, in 2017 I published a couple of CMBS scenarios, Summer In The City and Korsun 2017.

Vietnam veteran and drifter John J. Rambo (Sylvester Stallone) wanders into a small Washington town in search of an old friend, but is met with intolerance and brutality by the local sheriff, Will Teasle (Brian Dennehy). When Teasle and his deputies restrain and shave Rambo, he flashes back to his time as a prisoner of war and unleashes his fury on the officers. He narrowly escapes the manhunt, but it will take his former commander (Richard Crenna) to save the hunters from the hunted.

    Some news !!

Ok guys Christmas Christmas is on the door I propose you, my car dump ...

I see that some of you were making lots of news things scen map camp...I dont took much time to see the forum this last time, because I was busy, but I will check in details all these little gifts, now that I have time, thanks in advance to all of you to do something.

Time to put your socks on the chemney and wait the day after, ...this is "approximately" what I propose you, when you will click on the link below and discover like, Genesis was saying "land of confusion" my "land of destruction". , like W Churchill said, I can only offer you, dirt dead and destruction (sorry, I have to place this one) 😄...
I was trying to give a little diversion for Christmas to the Community.

...this is my introduction for the X mas package  :

    Part I

    Civilian veh Wreks (8)
    Military veh wrecks (16)
You will be able to added some wrecks vehicles, from Neutral, Allied and Axes, to yours scénarios maps and campaigns, in complement of the existing ones already in the game, via the editor, the only thing that I cannot do is, that they are burning, but some are already burned.
I give you many choice view, and sometimes they are grouped of 2 vehicles so be aware to place them.

This first approach will be for the CMRT FR
    Representing
Allied lend lease, civilian and Soviet, German vehicles.
I took the system of @Umlaut exemple, with Flavour Objects, (FO) and for my part, this works perfectly, thanks Dennis.
Ok all is not perfect but i gave my best, I spend lot of time to realized it and hope that you will enjoy it.

The content of the zipped files is in details as follow.

    RT_Part I_ FO_ PK1.zip
    Subfolders files
    RT_barrel_PK1
    RT_bin_PK1
    RT_drum_PK1

    Thus let's start.
For every (FO) 9 slots can be used in the editor.
But to keep the original one always available, I will be starting with the Num 2.
    I choose the following FO's.
    Barrel = Civilian Vehicles
    Bin = Allied Vehicles
    Drum = Axes Vehicles

Thus you will have folders in this model.
    RT_Bin2_Pk1_t34 ot45
    RT_Bin4_Pk1_willys
    RT_Barrel3_Pk1_Merc

    To be more understanding.
    >RT = CMRT
    >Bin, Barrel, Drum,= FO
    >PK1= Pack1
    >Then the represented Vehicles name.
If the mod is well adapted and helpful, the list will be more long in the future, and will be also available for the others modules.
I choose to writing the folders on this model (is up to you if you want, to find another system).
But for the time I strongly recommend you, to follow this model, and don’t remove the file or change the name of the folder, this will only avoid some mistakes in the future, I want to added more wrecks and will follow this system, also this was more easy for me, to jumping from folder to folder in my Blender, Gimp time.
Mean that for the second pack the same name will be used from the FO's, BUT the folder with have the name Pack2 (PK2) and another vehicle wreck will be represented.
But this mean also, that you will have to "pay attention" if you have folders in your Z folder, to don’t use for example Two folders with the same FO name, cos one will be only available, from the editor.
Avoid for example (in the future)
    Bin2 PK1
    Bin2 PK2
But you will be able to use for example
    Bin2 PK1
    Bin3 PK2
Following the vehicle of your choice.
    Pack2 (PK2,) will follow!

But let's talking first of the first Pack.

    Thus, the procedure!

    >Check the small picture in the folders, representing the vehicle wreck.
    >Put the FO's Folders of your choice in your Z folder
    >Choose and remember the (FO name and number) regarding to the picture wreck.
    >Let s start the game and go to the editor.
    >Load a map campaign or scenario
    >Click on the category of FO's Bin, Barrel,...of your choice, and the choosing number.
    >Check the 3d view on your map and place the wreck correctly, save it eventual in a different name as the original.
    >Then let start.

    ATTENTION
I don't know if this will take lot of memory in the game so be aware about this...and remove eventual the "not welcome Folders".
I was also reworked on Telephone poles FO's, included in this folder zip
TelephonePole_zip, is up to you to replace the existing ones.

    ===============================================================================
I am busy also to make a part FO's, for CMCW also used for Berlin or town close to the border.
With only 3 vehicles for now.
Same procedure as above but here we have the particularity with 2 different "kind" of country.
West Germany town or used to West Berlin
East Germany town or east Berlin.

    Thus
    Western Cars
    Eastern Cars
To keep a touch of reality I was trying to keep vehicles from 1970 to 1980.

    Following
    Part II
    (trying available Christmas)
Tanks traces and junk streets (also in snow)
    Part III
    (trying available Christmas)
    Dead bodys
    Part IV
    Camo military vehicles
    Part V
    Deployed weapons
    (same as CMBN)

I hope this will be helpful.

Exactly the same here. Great first scenario so far. Beautiful map.

    I have one question, though:
I cant seem to find any info on resupply in any of the briefings? Have I missed it, is it an error - or on purpose? I would be nice to know if I have to conserve my ammo. 🙂

    Help!
I've finished a campaign build, BUT the zip file is 26MB...therefore breaches the 20MB limit on https://www.thefewgoodmen.com/tsd3/
If anyone can help it'll be appreciated. Already to go on the 16th Dec as well!

December 16th 05:35, the “Ghost Front” erupts in a maelstrom of noise and violence as Unternehmen Wacht am Rhein begins.
The Rollbahn D Campaign contains 35 linear scenarios built as historically accurate as I’ve been able to achieve.
You control the fortunes of KG Peiper, SG Knittel, and Panzer Brigade 150, along with elements from KG Hansen, KG Sandig, and the 3. Fallschirmjäger-Division.
    Boy did this project snowball!
The Campaign begins with a choice. Either starting at the very beginning or on Day 3 of the offensive. The latter will be an easier route as you’ll have not suffered any losses to your core units. I’ve included here what it takes to progress within the Campaign as not every engagement is balanced. The scenarios range from small to medium to Ben Hur like epics.
I’ve made minor changes to the Day 1-2 scenarios based on the feedback from the Rollbahn D Part 1 Campaign.
    Day1-2
SN01: Murky Merlscheid / Fallshirmjager Regiment 9 / Minor Victory
SN02: Leaving Lanzerath / Fallshirmjager Regiment 9 / Minor Victory
SN03: Minen The Gap / Spitze / Minor Victory
SN04: Breakthrough / Spitze Kompanie and FSJ / Minor Victory

SN06: Bull in gen China Shop / Spitze and Spitze Komp / Minor Victory
SN07: Butchers Of Baugnez / Spitze and KG Peiper / Minor Victory
    Day 3
SN08: Laying Down The Recht / KG Hansen / Minor Victory
SN09: Poteau The Priority / KG Hansen / Minor Victory
SN10: Storming Stavelot / KG Peiper / Tactical Victory
SN11: Trois Is A Crowd / KG Peiper and FSJ / Draw
SN12: Jabos! / KG Peiper / Tactical Defeat

SN14: Neufmoulin Rouge / KG Peiper / Draw
    Day 4
SN15: Duel In The Mist / KG Peiper and FSJ / Minor Victory
SN16: Too Tight At Targnon / KG Peiper / Tactical Defeat

SN34: Hansens Surprise / KG Hansen / Draw

SN35: Katz Und Maus / The Survivors / Minor Victory

All the maps are my own, apart from Cheneux, which is stock that I’ve modified. Ranks/uniforms can be inaccurate as command units are above the battalion level.
Each Scenario will be available as a separate download in January.

    Good Luck!

umlaut got a reaction from 37mm in R2V "Aris´ed" Shermans
    Here´s a quick-fix mod set for the R2V Shermans.

@DougPhresh made a request for Sherman mods for R2V the other day. I replied that I dont really have the time to make mods from scratch. Luckily, I discovered that I had an old set of Sherman  Photoshop files that Aris´ once sent me. This was only the files for his CMBN Sherman IC mod, so most of the mods in this set are based on these.
I have simply taken each bmp for the hulls and turrets of every Sherman in R2V - and placed the dirt, mud and grime from Aris´  Sherman IC on top of them. So most of the mods have the excact same layer of dirt on top of them. Luckily, it doesn' t really loook like that, because the base bmp´s are relatively different.

In some cases, the bmp´s were so different from the Sherman IC´s layout that I couldn´t use the method described above. In that case I have taken files from other CM games and renamed them to fit. Or done a bit of modding myself.
In short: This is not a set of mods made from scratch - but a quick-fix that will allow you to use "Aris´ed" R2V Shermans. Sherman grogs might find errors in camo schemes and such, but as far as I am concerned, they are as good as they get.
I am sharing the mods via this Dropbox link - until they are available on Cmmods IV.

As to "immigration broke the NHS": that's utter fallacy. Immigration from the EU has been propping up our economy (and the NHS, or at least its associated social care sector) for years. And the disintegration of the sense of community over the past couple of decades can be pinned on the divisive rhetoric (aka blatant [emphatic expletive] lying) of the Tories, their Brexiteer friends and their pet attack dogs at the Daily Fail and other tabloid press.
