And/Or they have no respect for the written word and the vessel that contains it. A book is not a coaster, they make coasters to be coasters! They make book marks, so you don't need to fold the the pages to save your place.  Books usually don't survive rain. Etc.  I always tell the kids in my life that I've bought books for, that if you take care of them, they will take care of you.
I remember I'd just got this one title, The Book of Execution by Geoffrey Abbot, and was maybe 20 pages in. I was sitting at the bar in a restaurant I worked at on my day off, drinking a beer and reading it. This chick I knew walks up and asks me what I am reading. I hand her the book and she looks at it, sets it down on the bar, opens it up and presses down on both sides really hard and cracks the spine so it won't shut. LOL. I almost s*** myself. I hadn't even had it but maybe two days. Yeah, it sounds anal but I paid money for it, and I try to take care of my stuff. I still have books that I was given at 12. They aren't immaculate, but they are still in one piece.
I've done that. LOL. It is a lot better than obsessing! I do not like having to buy something for myself twice—better to just get a gift for someone, especially if you have an older edition.
If you guys are like me you probably specialize in particular genres or subjects. You end up with some hard to find editions or rare titles in general (small press), that cost you not only money but lots and lots of time to track down. And like me, when you see that book sitting on your shelf you smile and are comforted knowing you finally added to your collection. Which leads us back to, there is no way in hell I am gonna trust that someone will respect that when they borrow it.

Buddy Aid makes me feel better, so the fact it doesn't actually make a difference to the game score is irrelevant.

    Merry Early Christmas everyone!
I've hosted as many of the Colonel Alphin lectures I could find, in the best quality available.
They are posted here in a playlist for easy viewing, with 14 videos in total.

I still cannot find a few selected examples, such as Crossbow versus Longbow, Custer's Last Stand, and the ones about Tanks.
Anyway, Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays, etc.

Found this reblogged from a Tumblr called a-london-gent. This has two of my favorite things (books and hand hewn old timbers, not to mention my Holy Grail library ladder and stairs). A thing of wonder, right?

Instead of having a wish list of features we all know won't be put into the game , instead I thought it might be more productive if we could assemble a list of issues that are in need of fixing, with the hopes that some bug squashing, or missing features might instead be fixed or added into CMSF2.

To begin, one of the oldest missing features in all of CMx2, the Recon Variant of the Humvee, with it's large mounted optical device, does not function. At all.
I'd like to see this thing actually working in CMSF2.

Also, I've noticed that the mast-mounted primary gunner sight on the Marder 1A3 does not function either. Placing the vehicle, buttoned up, hull down to an enemy vehicle no more than 100 meters away on an open, flat surface, leads to no positive contact at all, despite the large optic looking directly at the enemy.

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else had noticed issues like these, or had some old bugs they would like to see squashed.

Before, the AI would sit there and just die. Now, it runs away...even if it shouldn't.
The knob had been too far to the left. It got adjusted too far to the right. BFC is aware of it and has their best knob twister doing whatever it is that knob twisters do.

    Thank you.
Work on the next lecture video is slowly trickling in. Not as fast as I'd like, but it's not at a dead stop either, so I can't complain.

Doesn't make sense that someone can be here one day and gone the next. All that experience, knowledge, wisdom, potential...lost. Of course, Stuka, didn't have most of those, but still..Sucks.
F•ck it dude, let's go bowling.

Here's the rest of the Appendix for the forum rats:

Part three is the second version, with cuts proposed by @MOS:96B2P. I went on a bit of a rant, and he pointed out it really didn't do anything aside from stretch the runtime unnecessarily.

All 4 parts combined is the full 1 hour 20 minutes (minus edits) ramble about "How to move down a street".

What if you don't have any demo charges?

So long as the vehicle status is not set to 'Dismounted' you shouldn't have a problem.
Besides, soon you can simply attach individual vehicles to any TO&E you want.

That's weird. I've built a couple of vehicle firing ranges by using the deployment mode of the editor to dismount the crews, and leave a bunch of empty vehicles.
Set your vehicle status to 'Immobilized', then dismount the crews, and order them to hide someplace, like inside a building, with short cover arcs.
I dunno if it works with vehicles set to 'Okay' status.

Halftracks should be seen as nothing more than bulletproof trucks, asking for more out of them is asking for trouble.
Their job is to deliver your infantry to their jumping off point unharmed, providing some suppressive fires with their machineguns, allowing for rapid redeployment in between engagements, as well as providing an easy source of ammunition resupply.
You would be better off keeping them out to around 400-500 meters while firing, and only closing within that range specifically to disembark infantry, then withdrawing again.

My playtesting of Rinaldi's scenario 'Duel in the Mist' does show some armored infantry in action, if you want to have a look:
Of course, I possessed copious amounts of supporting weapons, so the actual tactical problem was one of time management, rather than the specific problem of employment.

I do have plans to make a tactics video specifically about Armored Infantry, but life and work have sapped my schedule quite a bit.

Haven't seen this mentioned in a while.  So here goes:
Hope that the next version gives us the ability to alter the UI size.  On a 30" 2760 x 1600 monitor I have to resize the game to 1920x1200 or lower just to read the text.  Soon UHD/4K monitors will become more widely used.   Shame to have to degrade the image just to read.
