    Yeah I don't think so.
Have you looked at the definition of racism? Not shopping in China town because you are afraid of being contaminated by something that is not present in any population in Toronto just because the look of the skin colour of the people in that area matches the skin colour of the people who are suffering with the outbreak of this virus sounds like a match to the definition to me.

The one German General of the Nazi era that comes to my mind - as a man of honor - was Ludwig Beck. We would all do well to remember his courage in the face of tyranny. Too bad the British and French caved in to Hitler over the Sudetenland - there might have been no World War II in Europe...although there would have been bloody civil war in Germany as the military and Nazi's went at it.
    From Wikipedia:
"He increasingly came to rely upon contacts with the British in the hope that London would successfully exert its influence on Hitler through threats and warnings, but he failed.
Beck and his conspirators knew that Germany faced certain and rapid defeat if France and Britain helped Czechoslovakia in 1938. Accordingly, they contacted the British Foreign Office, informed Britain of their plot and asked for a firm British warning to deter Hitler from attacking Czechoslovakia. In September 1938, British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, French Prime Minister Édouard Daladier and Italian dictator Benito Mussolini signed the Munich Agreement, handing the Sudetenland in Czechoslovakia to Germany. That ended the crisis and hence Beck's efforts at a putsch."
More regarding the plot of 1938 from https://www.historyplace.com/worldwar2/triumph/tr-munich.htm
"Beck and Halder formed a group of conspirators consisting of several top generals, along with former diplomat Ulrich von Hassell, Admiral Wilhelm Canaris who was Chief of German Intelligence, and Berlin's Police Chief, Graf von Helldorf.
They hatched a plot to arrest Hitler the very moment he gave the actual invasion order. According to their plan, Berlin would be sealed off by special Army units to prevent the SS from interfering. Other units, aided by anti-Nazis in the Berlin Police, would seize important government buildings while top Nazis such as Göring, Goebbels and Himmler would be arrested. Assuming this all worked, Hitler would be hauled before a special court and charged with leading Germany toward a military disaster. (my note: and violation of the Weimar Constitution).
But there was one big if in this whole scenario. The plan would only work if both Britain and France maintained a belligerent attitude toward Hitler and made it known to the world that they would fight to preserve the little Czech Republic. This would serve to convince the German people that certain defeat awaited Germany if it attacked Czechoslovakia and would justify the overthrow of Hitler."
He died a hero after the failed attempt to kill Hitler and save what was left of Germany (physically and morally) in July 1944.

A vehicle without a commander is a bit like a headless chicken. Morale plummets, situational awareness drops, and they start doing stupid things. There's another thread that argues that WWII tanks' spotting ability is too high. If you want to correct that just get your commander shot.

Hi, I just watched him and I think he covers this with his later comments that the Sherman was successful on the strategic level.  So it was winning against these tanks. He even mentions that people focus on the tactical level. Which I think you might be falling into that trap?
So in context of his talk you should view it at the strategic level.  I.e yes for those tanks that had to face head on those uber tanks they needed a better tank, but by having more Sherman's that worked it meant that they were available for the whole front and every company fighting had support. While the German uber tanks were limited and could not be every where. They broke down / were bypassed.
Just my interpretation of where he was coming from.

Just to add a comment on the contact icons that hang around. If you have no units selected the enemy contact icons you see are a big picture combination of contacts. It combines the knowledge of everyone on the map. If you select a specific unit the contact icons will change to those that that unit knows about. How does that relate to this situation? If you watch for it you will see this happen frequently. Your platoon has cleared the objective and knows there is no one there - if you select the platoon elements there will be no contacts on the objective but the higher level combined intel picture still has contact information - usually that was passed up the chain of command. As @Warts 'n' all says those fade over time as the intel gets old. If your platoon elements have a contact in a building that is part of the objective you can move them to that building and the contact icon will go away (or turn out to be an enemy unit :-) *for that unit*. Once your unit shares its intel with the HQ it should go away from the HQ's intel picture too. If the contact was passed to other elements of the platoon they should update their picture too once the sharing passes. For that to happen there has to be C2 between all those elements. Sometimes this takes a while to clear up.

I suppose that's true when you count all CM games and maps.  Within CMBN though, this specific bug regularly ruins play.  It is not trivial within that title.
However, I do understand that debugging it will be a major effort diverting resources from other more profitable work.  I hope someone might wake up in the middle of the night, say "Eureka!", and find a fix for it soon though.

Based on the very limited details you have posted here is what I think happened in your battle; your AT gun spots an enemy StuG and they determine firing at the StuG is a bad idea. I am going to assume a frontal shot with a 57mm AT gun has a low chance of penetration, so better to stay still and make every effort to appear nonthreatening and keep out of harms way. Unfortunately for them, the StuG spots them and fires, killing the team leader and another crew man. Thankfully the StuG finds a new target to aim at and leaves the rest of your crew alone. You don't state the StuG moved away but only that it stopped firing on the AT gun, an important point to keep in mind. Now, a Flakvierling opens fire and begins to send rounds at the AT crew. Remember they are hard wired to stand their ground and stick to their guns because once they run away, there is no coming back. You state in your first post the crew is rattled and not pinned so their only hope for things to not get any worse is to take out the threat facing them. A regular leader would probably say the StuG is still right there, if we open fire, we are dead so keep your heads down boys. But -2 Stevie Screwup forgets all about the StuG, he knows his 57 mm can one hit KO a Flakvierling and if he knocks it out, the suppression he is facing currently goes away. Again, remembering he is hard wired to stick to his gun and not run away, he makes the only right choice in his mind which is to turn and fire at the Flakvierling, attempting to knock it out and making his suppression go away.  Stevie doesn't think ahead to the next turn and what will happen to him when the StuG opens fire again, nope his -2 means he can only think about the here and now and so he makes his decision. As a regular "skills" crew man he has been under fire before, if only briefly, and the adrenaline rush of coming under fire once again and the desire for revenge for his fallen teammates makes him forget all about getting hit himself and focus only on knocking out the threat. It might be the wrong choice in the long run but right here, right now, it is all -2 Stevie can focus on and it works out for him. In his mind it is the right decision because the suppressing fire has been eliminated and for now, he is safe.
That is my take on what happened. You seem to think the outcome should have been different. What do you think should have happened and what evidence do you have to support your reasoning?

This is not inner conflict, we are victim of proxy-agression, so we have a nature right to repell such agression in any way. Our troops on own land and any step back from such points like Maryinka or Avdiivka wil be considered by society like betrayal. The same situation with separs - their field commanders and some politics claim there is completely unapproriate for them to step back and to leave part of Horlivka or Donetsk.
And only disangagement in next three points, was declared (not agreed!!!)... in not defined period.

"Waffen der SS division". This is a big difference with "true" SS-division.

Minsk agreements were signed under urging of military force and military defeat. Accordint to art.52 of Conventions about International agreements we have a full right to refuse from these agreememts in any appropriate time. And who is Russia to demand from us anything? The agressor, who annexed Crimea, who directly invaded and suports separs all these years. This is a top of impudence!

Show me these well-organized armed-to-teeth with armor ultra-nationalistic units. Ok, I am starting: 1) Azov, regular not paramilitary unit of 18th NGU operative regiment in the force about 600 men. Next?
"Majority" is always a "swamp", which want "bread and entartaiments" only. The history always creates by active minority if circumstances demand. A half of Zelenskyi's "majority" in case of possib;e uprising will sit on own sofas and other half will supoprt Maidan - personally or in mind.
I also will surprise you about this "majority". Zelensky have big support because many people were angry on corruption, covered by Poroshenko, but not because they wanted "a peace for any cost". 60 % of his followers will never forgive to Ze any betrayal of national interests and concessions to Russia. Last polling showed more than 20 % voted for military way of Donbas returning and about 60 % for diplomacy, but without any concessions like "special status in Constitution". Even Zelensky on eve of voting directly claimed Donbas never will get any constitutional "special status".
And well, stop to post here about "nazi, eating a russian-speaking babіes in the center of Kyiv". This is was ridiculous in 2014, but now this is OMG-facepalm level
PS. This is thread for videos. I don't understand any sence of this political discussion exept an attempt to make all that this topic will closed.

There is no such nation like "people of Donbas". They are all citizens of Ukraine, which during dozen years were under pressure of propaganda of local elites, loyal to Kremlin. Their pro-russian moods mostly have consumer nature and based on phobias - from "Bandera-followers will massacre us" to "they will force us to change our faith to greko-catholician". In 2014 they believed if Russia comes here, they would get Moskow-level salaries and soviet-time prices like sausidge for 2.20 and vodka for 3.62. Even Strelkov told, they expected "Donbass people will rise and join to us in own struggle, but only 0,5% of all Donbas men enlisted to "peoples milita" - rest either left Donbas, or did nothing in hope that Russia will do all instead them".
In liberated cities - Dobropillia, Sloviansk, Kramatorsk, Bakhmut, Kostiantynivka, Lysychansk,. Siverodonetsk, Mariupol and dozen settlement and villages so called "people of Donbass" have a peace. There is no demonstrations against Ukraine or partisan resistance. And from our side there is no any "Srebrenitsa" like threated Putin. Do you know why? Because the source of disturbance was cutted - Russia. No Russia - no stream of "volunter fighters for Russian world", no "vacationers", no banditism, no political  and weapon support of separatists. So, if Russia will go away, the peace will come quite soon.

Wicky reacted to Freyberg in Why is surrendering still so poorly modelled
I think surrendering works well and is actually quite complex and sophisticated.
I've never been in a war, but I'm not sure soldiers do often surrender in the heat of battle - or whether they are more likely to surrender when the shooting has died down, which the game also models.
As it is, those little white flags are a real bonus, a little prize in game terms. To get four or five of them at once feels really good and is not easy.
