  1. FWIW there is a new medic animation/graphic over at CMMODS which shows the medic lying down. However, if the game engine calculates his exposure based on his default kneeling graphics stance, then this new mod could confuse/mislead players

  6. One significant problem with setting up with "good LOS' is that often once the game starts those "good LOS" positions no longer provide good LOS. I know that it's been discussed many times b4. But, often "what you see is NOT what you get". One learns to ignore the problem. But, when I read "I usually take long time to determine good spots for heavy weapons and FOs, that enable not just general overwatching... use the HMG section HQs and any spared HQs with 1-2 binocs to recon the possibly good observation/overwatch points..." etc.it reminds me all over again that one cannot depend on getting LOS by eyeballing from level 1 or from waypoints. I would say it's closer to 50:50 that one can see what one thinks one will be able to see.
  7. In Buddy Aid, can SMG's now be picked up? I know that in the past it was only LMG's and rifles that could be picked up.
  8. Also noted the issue with the covered arc. One would think that in RL Carius would have disobeyed the arc and fired at that short range Soviet which was an "existential" threat. I thought CM2 allowed for troops to disobey covered arcs when necessary.
  9. Hopefully one day we may have the ability to ACQUIRE from adjacent units (not solely from a vehicle). It takes time to ACQUIRE in RL. However, there could be a DELAY of some kind where units should not be given any move orders before ammo/weapons are transferred (or the transfer ceases with only partial transfer of materiels). Perhaps the more ammo and weapons transferred the longer the delay. That would be a very useful enhancement.
  10. What still puzzles me is why BF did away with the easy click 180 degree arc of CM1. If you play with armor, one needs to constantly have the turret facing one direction while the vehicle moves in another direction. Currently, it's a major PITA to have to do 180 degree arcs in order to achieve this.
  11. Are there written instructions re this? I find this very confusing as I thought all mods simply go into the Z folder. I assumed all my mods were working fine. But, I have so many it's hard to figure out if anything is not working.
  12. Sorry to require more clarification... I use PC. For CMBS, I have ALL mods including "scenario specific mods" under my Z folder in USER DATA folder. What sort of mods go in the SCENARIO folder? I do not see any folder called MOD TAGS under Game Files and I have never put anything under that folder except Scenarios, Campaigns, Saved Games and QB Maps. I thought all mods simply go in the Z folder. Do MOD TAGS go in a different folder from MODS? Which folder do INTRO MOVIES go into?
  13. Re Mod Tags... Maybe I am misunderstanding here. I thought all scenario-specific mod packs go in the Z folder. But, here I read people are putting them in the game Files Folder???
  14. Don't know why it would be hard to play CMA. I still love it, and when opportunity allows, I enjoy playing CMA and CMSF as a change from WW2. CMMODS doesn't have CMSF or CMA anymore. But, there are a number of good CMA mods out there somewhere. Many from CMSF are usable in CMA. Regretfully, do not have my main game computer here, so can't tell you what they are. I do recall CMA mods for UI, uniforms, faces, many vehicles and terrain, sounds/music, tracers/explosions etc. Hopefully other folk here will jump in...

  16. Are the mods you packaged all pre-existing? I d/ded your mod pack. But. it occurred to me I almost certainly have all of them already. (In which case I should delete your pack as they will be duplicates.)
  17. Let me throw my hat in for WW2 North Africa. If the CMSF terrain would work well for that, it would cut down on a lot of work. I crave more maneuver battles and longer WW2 ranges so that the longer range weapons of WW2 could shine eg: 88mm - in a way that they do not currently in CM1.

  19. It's important that the main folder can be renamed as we now have several scenario-specific mod sets available and it's good to be immediately see which one is which. (Actually, it would be helpful if designers named mod tag folders with the scenario name it applies to.)
  20. Looking forward to this, Mike. PS: Can one safely rename the mod folder from "modtag1" to (eg) "Eagle&Bear Mods"?
  21. My desktop path is fairly short: c:\users\admin\desktop I have never had any problem with path length on any other mods, (only a few scenarios). Are you using a "less common" type of compression software? Took a quick look at the campaign. First scenario looks great. I especially appreciate having crack snipers as I think that is a better approximation of specialist training etc.
