  1. It may be debatable whether this feature is worth fixing. But, widely separated teams suffering morale problems cos someone on the other side of the map gets a hot, is called something like telepathy. Not "realistic" (FWIW).
  2. Not upsetting the Russians seems to be a very big deal. Other than for testing purposes, in all my play-throughs, there did not seem to be any compelling reason to use LZ 3 across the river. Looks like suicide. And from what you say, it is. Am hoping there is a way with triggers that if a Blue team across the river does not get noticed or engaged in combat that then they can accomplish their mission and get back undetected and all is well. Maybe to recover a bailed out pilot or search the crash site to recover/destroy top secret tech.
  3. For those who are interested there are a large number of CMSF mods just been uploaded. Not sure if they are all new or re-uploads of older lost mods.
  4. Am still hoping for CM3 featuring moving trains - so the tracks will be important.
  5. This is one big drawback. Unless there is a way to randomize the appearance of intel, it limits replayability.
  6. Wonder if MOS' innovative ideas could help accomplish something similar for CMSF2.
  7. IMO very soon. As I will be off the grid and unable to d/l anything till May or June, that is when BF releases new products.
  8. Just curious: Is it normal to use Command vehicles as part of the assault force. My SOP is to keep em safe in the rear and only for emergency defense. But, have no idea re RL deployment.
  9. Speaking as a frustrated model RR enthusiast, what about the station and the track layout?
  10. https://www.collinsdictionary.com/us/dictionary/english/to-shoot-from-the-hip If you say that someone shoots from the hip, you mean that they react to situations or give their opinion very quickly, without stopping to think (or bothering to read the post they are responding to).
  11. Very good find. Liked this: http://www.helion.co.uk/paradise-afire-volume-1-the-sri-lankan-war-1971-1987.html
  12. What are the factors ones can alter in the editor? IIRC one can have troops that are weak/unfit etc. So, well-trained troops would have all those soft factors to the max, but may still be "Green" as in not battle tested. You could have tired and unmotivated Veterans, who have all soft factors set to minimum. That would be an interesting match-up actually.
  13. I have had games where they run out of 7.62mm. The point still stands. Why not allow acquisition of smaller amounts? Generally, I like to give small teams an extra couple hundred rounds.
  14. Looks beautiful. Does all the buildings and damage use of processing power? A concern would be if it can only be played on a state of the art machine.
  15. The whole marking people down like that smacked of childish schoolyard bullying. I was appalled at the adolescent mentality of the folks who did that to John. Glad we can at least mark him back to neutral. Then it's up to him.
  16. If people actually read the posts, they would understand that we were talking about small teams of two men having to get a min of 1000 rounds. Most, maybe all IFV's (and that is often all the vehicles you get), force you to take 1,000 rounds min for the first couple of acquires before you can then take maybe 500 rounds, when you really only want to acquire 100-200 rounds. Those of us who play a lot come up against this issue all the time.
  17. Most supply vehicles (esp in CMBS and CMSF) don't have that little ammo.
  18. Yes. (Why did you redo the order if the arc was still in place?)
  19. Yes, we've long requested a more "nuanced" ammo ACQUIRE method. Trying to resupply a sniper or small team when the minimum is 1,000 rounds is "awkward" and perhaps downright "unrealistic".
  20. The scale of TACOPS was completely different as well. More operational-level IIRC.
  21. The good news is that BF will probably release something in the next 5-6 weeks. How do I know? They carefully monitor my travel plans and when I am out of town with no access to the internet that is when new product is released. (I will be back by June, so not long to wait now.)
  22. Am taking advice from Sgt S re the importance of monitoring every forum every few minutes so am ready to pounce on any new post.
  23. It all depends on size of scenario. When CM1 came out I was convinced that RT was the only way to play for the reasons you stated. But, as I became more experienced (and aged) and started to play much larger scenarios, I became a religiously fervent WEGO convert. Apart from playability, it's so much fun to replay sequences all over the battlefield to see all the small pixeltruppen stories get told.
  24. No they will not follow each other. It's a feature many have requested for as many years as CM has been around. Presumably too complex to program. To be certain that units go where you want them and don't do silly things you have to plot em individually.
