  1. For the new BMP3 mod at CMMODS.
  2. Good to know. Thanks... (Am too busy testing your TOC scenario to do any weapons testing myself heh.)
  3. MOS' innovative system in his CMBS TOC scenario would be perfect for rear area counter-partisan/guerilla scenarios. Perhaps we could accomplish Partisans with a mod (changing one of the minor countries) if BF cannot get em in.
  4. In the pic the tank is crossing those "razor blades" at a high angle to maximise surface area in contact with them. Your theory may be correct.
  5. It's possible that they Apple has conceded the gaming market to the PC and don't want to compete in a market where they may not shine.
  6. A good designer can create maps that make this impractical/impossible. Doesn't really matter if one is prevented from hugging the edge by a game feature or a terrain feature. The point is that both sides will know where the "practical edge" of movement is. (Perhaps the best solution is larger maps where one has room to maneuver and not so much of the WW1 style assault scenario where one has a continuous line from left flank to right flank.) Regarding recombining teams, AFAIK I have never had that issue. Have noted however, that it is easy to think the teams are in the same action spot when they are very slightly different. Also enemy fire/presence - even if the player isn't aware of them - may stop the combining.
  7. Well, that won't happen till CM3. Am hoping that eventually the complex of CM2 game families will evolve into a CM3 where they all "talk" to each other and we can have one game with add-ons and end up with something like the CM1 games - where one could play any era in the WW2 without have to load different games and go thru the increasingly complex upgrade and patch process.
  8. Well I was hoping that it hadn't rose to the level of S*&t quite yet...
  9. Amazing. But, I can think of a few people/groups that I hope do NOT get hold of RC models like that.
  10. And IIRC that abstraction is only for offmap artillery. Don't think a unit can call for onmap arty if it is far away from the gun/mortar and has no radio.
  11. Am testing MOS' TOC scenario and the Ukr and US are working closely together and riding in each other's vehicles. I know they can ACQUIRE each other's stuff. Would like if they could use each other's AT rockets - but only if there is no penalty. Thought someone would know the answer as I don't want to have to replay a bunch of complex turns.
  12. Ah... When I tried to quote MikeyD from your reply, it attributed the quote to you. I gotta remember to go back to the original and quote that.
  13. The internet and technology was supposed to make everything compatible. But, corporations are increasingly forcing consumers into "families" or "silos" of products. Eg: My SONY TV and DVD and Sound Bar does not work well with anything other than Sony Channel. MS makes it harder to use other browsers etc...
  14. Useful to know. Never played a scenario that featured it unfortunately. To clarify: Is the 20% failure rate when no ECM? When ECM used is it closer to 100% failure?
  15. The wonderful thing about CMSF2 (and CMRT as well) is that it will be very amenable for designing scenarios using MOS' very innovative concepts (involving many types of INTEL) that he is pioneering in his TOC scenario - (conducting COIN (Counterinsurgency) and low-intensity ops. Maybe even partisan ops in Yugoslavia if suitable mods are created for CMFI.
  16. "This is what we call a tank, Major." (A French soldier explains the Renault FT-17 to a US Army major.)
  17. Units from one nationality can board a vehicle from another nationality and acquire weapons. Eg US and Ukrainians. However, can a unit from one nationality use a rocket from another nationality, and can they use it equally well. Or, is there a penalty?
  18. I would call it CMAK or people will get confused. Try WeBOB: https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/webandofbrothers/index.php# or Few Good Men site for oppos. http://www.thefewgoodmen.com/thefgmforum/
  19. Listened to it. Not sure if it's appropriate for in-game BG sounds. But, maybe rename it for the SPLASH or iNTRO "music". May be better used there.
  20. Latest mod I see is SOUND MOD 2. Takes a while to deal with new mods. Listened to the files. They "sound" good. Looking forward to trying it.
  21. Yes, quite fascinating piece of African history. "It is a pity that we, who never believed in the use of force, must suffer for the blunders of little dictators and stupid military leaders...We did not come here to shoot Africans, we came to help them...I was not prepared to let my brave men die for nothing." - Comdt Patrick Quinlan, Jadotville, September 1961
  22. I had the privilege of meeting the man decades ago when he was on a book tour in LA. Got him to sign a copy of "The Right Stuff" which is still around here someplace. I assumed he was dead by now. But he's going strong at 95!
  23. It's not "Saving Private Ryan" or "Apocalypse Now". But, it's entertaining to watch and glad I did so as it was a bit of history I didn't know much about. The first 15 minutes as the film "establishes" characters etc is slow like the start of "We Were Soldiers..." but just like that Mel Gibson film, it picks up when they get to the Congo.
