Yes, and I do know this because it's been my job 🙂       (I'm not trying to be snarky with that so I hope it doesn't come across that way).
However, I'd counter that with the fact that Chernobyl released an absolutely massive number of Curies of radioactive material, more than would be released by a tactical nuclear weapon. Remember that nuclear weapon explosions are air bursts which maximize the blast and immediate direct radiation radius, while minimizing fallout (minimizing being a relative term, of course). So the immediate downwind area is the most prone to significant fallout. Doesn't mean it won't be detected elsewhere, but it would be more localized than Chernobyl, and detectably elsewhere, unlikely to be in the range of any health worry.
Also, I'd point out that Western Europe did NOT get "Huge Doses of radiation"  The typical dose in Westerly European countries was about 1/3 of the average yearly background dose for individuals. In comparison that total is still half what someone living in Denver, CO receives for yearly background (the difference being entirely altitude). Even Chernobyl, while measurable all over Europe, was of great effect more in the immediate area. There, the dose rates and contamination were severe. Apart from the 28 first responders who needlessly died from acute radiation exposure (there was nothing they could do, so their deaths were pointless), and a couple hundred who recovered, by far the major issue has been a large increase in thyroid cancers in the immediate area. This is entirely due to uptake of I-131, a short lived fission product. This is the reason that KI tablets are issued in areas near nuclear reactors. Floods the thyroid with good iodine so the I-131 is biologically eliminated since it has no place to "dock". Fortunately, thyroid cancer is among the most treatable and survivable cancers. There are other issues but on a much smaller scale.
I haven't seen the HBO Chernobyl movie (don't have HBO), so I can't comment on its accuracy but I do know quite a bit about what happened and why it happened due to my work, and the continuing monitoring, cleanup and sarcophagus replacement.

Sure, but like @purpheart23 was pointing out, all I'd like to see is some oversight as well about where this money is going (as with any spending bill that comes up before Congress). It doesn't really matter to me in the long run if it was a conservative, liberal, or a senator of any other political stripe making the point. Politicians are going to be politicians and thus will always grandstand to one extent or the other, but it doesn't necessarily mean that the point they are making is a bad one.

No, not really - all he was/is asking for is some proper oversight into how this money is going to be spent. Without going off into tangents, the U.S. has been spending a lot of money recently on weapons for Ukraine (while ignoring some other critical, domestic issues), so it's only rational that someone with some sense stood up and said, hold on, where exactly is this money going?

Does it now?  I would love to hear what those x and y's are, and I am sure glad someone has got them all figured out.  Before my present gig, I got pretty deep into COIN - was kinda a thing back in the day - and no such metric exist.  Why...and we are back to non-linear.  For example, we had no idea what the general insurrection point in Afghanistan was but the Soviets had already proven that too many "x's" and "the women come out to cut up your remains", too few and the TB has all sorts of freedom.  So what?  It is not about troop ratios or "boots on sand" it is about local buy-in.  But hey I like your plan better, lets do simple math and feel better.  
As to this war, no I am sorry but the math is not simple.  I think we will be unpacking those numbers for the next 20 years trying to figure out what happened 

I know a lot of things, but I wouldn't want anyone to question their beliefs.  Besides, this thread should be about Ukraine not the US and it's probably best to keep it that way.

While Steve might have a point about why the Democratic Party erected all those monuments to Confederate Generals - seems plausible to me - I think it's also fair to point out that the Confederate Flag as well as other references to monuments to Confederate Generals have evolved somewhat over time to represent generalized 'Southern Pride' for many who live in the south as shown below

There are also many monuments located at the various battlefields dedicated to both Union and Confederate soldiers and units.  You can't hardly walk 50 yards at Gettysburg without bumping into a monument to someone.  I just wanted to toss that out there because there are a lot of people from other countries, and they might not see the full context.

Otherwise... this is pure history revisionism by WOKE elements of our society.  We may not like this history (whether we are leftwing or rightwing) but by your reasoning we should knock down/deface practically every monument erected over our civilization's history.  Why, because practically every person who has lived until very recently has been some sort of racist.  (and many still alive are some sort of racist, just misinformed/unenlightened, but may still be good people).  You can't go around defacing historical sites because you disagree with their politics.  That's happened throughout history and is disgusting.  We would have no history if you burned every temple or book, knocked down every statue because you don't agree with some segment of that belief.  And as for the USA (or any country) naming a ship or a base after a US historical figure, it can't.  Why? Because by your reasoning, none of them are perfect by today's standards.

But then, the 2nd and 3rd pictures, with high winds, show that the rounds are drifting in all axes, as you'd expect once again.

Agreed, the constant propaganda, misreporting and outright lies in the media destabilised the whole country and led to the current weak US leadership that emboldened the attack on Ukraine.
It's less about how Russia felt about being constantly blamed for things like the Clinton campaign manufactured collusion hoax (now being prosecuted by Special Counsel Durham) and Hunter Biden's laptop (now admitted by the NY times to be real) and more about the damage to social cohesion in the US that led to someone in the White House that Putin has no reason to even try and respect.
