  1. Select the artillery unit you want, select the type of mission (point target, area target, line) and then you will be able to select Mission as Heavy, Medium, Light, Harass, Smoke. But only if the battery you selected has smoke ammunition. If, for whatever reason, it doesn't have any, you won't be able to fire smoke.
  2. Nope. My picture is the early LWS version with 3 return rollers.
  3. It's the Land Wasser Schlepper. Originally designed around 1935 for river crossing and bridging operations, but 3 prototypes were assigned to Sea Lion, had it gone off.
  4. It repeats until infinity, kind of like Ian's post.
  5. The ultimate sport utility vehicle:
  6. But think of all the fun you could have with ground troops.
  7. Since the US doesn't have anything like the Tunguska, how about one of these?
  8. Absolutely. I hope we get 40-42 in the desert somewhere down the road. I loved CMAK with early war tanks and AC's shooting and missing, a lot, at long ranges.
  9. I prefer the Bee Gees because the rhythm is so perfect.
  10. I so wanted him to make it. My opponent was really glad to put paid to him after what he'd done.
  11. In nearly 18 years of CM, I've never had quite this situation develop, but it was funny. After heroically destroying 3 Su-76M's with the Schreck and grenades, this landser and his partner shot it out with some Soviet crewmen. His partner went down, but they got all the crew. When the schreck tried to displace, he bumped into a Soviet ATR gunner. Fritz was quick on the draw and fired twice, but missed. He tried to hook it around the corner of the building, but the ATR gunner put a big slug in him.
  12. In combat, situational awareness sometimes becomes clouded and things happen. These vehicles bunched up in Syria and paid the price. and these 13 Churchill tanks of the 107th Regiment RAC (King's Own) managed to all get knocked out in a clump during a battle on the Orne in August 1944. Sometimes things happen in combat and sometimes things happen that weren't what scenario designers intended. But the first company to make an AI that approaches the challenge of playing against a human being in a tactical combat game will be unspeakably rich.
  13. But BFC has surprised us with things over the past few years too, so maybe something for BS will show up during 2018.
  14. Definitely not. Not sure I know anyone that doesn't have a CHP and pack.
  15. And how many other distractions were in action around it? The German armor didn't just ignore a lone ATG that wasn't dug in.
  16. Modern weapon systems are extremely lethal. Using cover (not just concealment thanks to IR sights etc) is very important. The WWII recon/spotting rules are even more imperative here. Never send a team anywhere a scout hasn't been. Never send a squad anywhere a team hasn't been. Never send a platoon anywhere a squad hasn't been. Never send a vehicle anywhere infantry hasn't been and so on. To me the immersion is in taking it very slow. Giving your troops time to spot potential targets and then dealing with them in the sneakiest possible way. Keeping casualties to an absolute minimum (in pbem or vs the AI) is satisfying imho.
  17. US troops with Shermans and BAR's crushed German troops with Panthers and MG-42s, so,...yeah.
