Good looking map, any place historical? I imagine that would be a pretty tough place to attack if your goal was to penetrate to the river.

Played a pbem fairly recently with vet and crack FJ versus Brits with quite a few Vickers and was really surprised how well they performed.

Tankers from the Western Allies and the Soviets did tend to roll with HE loaded on the advance, because for most of the war they were much more likely to have to respond to an AT gun and/or infantry than a Panzer/StuG/JgPz.

Poked a Panther out from behind a building in a CMFI pbem when I noticed my opponent had 4 Humber AC's coming up a road and managed to hole all 4 in one shot. We still laugh about that one.

I wouldn't mind the cartoonish look of rotoscope for something fictional, but I find it somewhat insulting to present the story of real soldiers that way. But, Netflix has shown they don't know what's appropriate anyway...

GL and R2V continue to make FI great and so unlike any other CM. He's welcome to his opinion, but it's hard to imagine anyone finding it meh.

People or the AI pushing an attack when it's getting ground up or a defender not pulling back immediately upon being flanked, rolled up, etc, definitely contributes, but to me the one biggest factor is that when you play, you are playing in an area (likely one of the few) where the two sides came into close contact. As Erwin touched on, your units are only part of a much larger whole, and though your company may have gotten chewed up today, the rest of your battalion and the two others in close proximity, may not have been involved in much of anything, or fired a few shots and the other side got the wind up. I would definitely like to see the ratio of KIA to wounded be more realistic than now, but actual combat where both sides commit is going to be bloody.

I find that I take inordinate delight in using Brummbärs, 20mm Flakvierlings, M2's mounted on anything, Mk 19 GL's (despite their horrible accuracy), and elite snipers. I fear Soviet SMG troops inside 200m (unless I'm running Begleitgrenadiers) and Javelins.

Man, CMAK. Played so many PBEM's in the early desert where my opponents and I were fielding crap tanks or AC's, blazing away at each other over 1000m away and missing wildly. Came down to who ran out of ammo and had to withdraw first more times than you'd think. So glorious. Still hoping we'll get the desert again someday. Maybe in CMx3...

I agree that equipment pack port route is by far the most likely to ever have a snowball's chance with BFC, since it would require nothing new to be created.

It wasn't a tournament, it was a continuous campaign of battles that were played out based on the strategic movement of units on the map. Absolutely glorious. I understand about DLC, but I just don't think they would get involved for that either, based on past comments.

I wasn't the organizer, I commanded the 17th Pz Div.. Kicked a ton of commie butt too. It was epic.

I'll have to admit that for 99% of forum members, I would have read the previous post and thought, "Hmm, that sucks, oh well", but considering all the wonderful things @MOS:96B2P cooks up and the picture bones he favors us with, I'd consider this a full blown emergency. BFC fix or do somefink!
