panzermartin
Ok a little early you'd say but lets give it a try. Any preferences? Hassan i Sahba by Hawkwind will be perfect to set the mood for the red side, as for the Blues...surfin usa maybe?
MikeyD
My vote for CMSF theme music would be the same as my suggetion for CMAK, and CMBB before that. Johnny Cash singing "I fell into a burning ring of fire". Either that or the old 'Butt Hole Surfers" cover song of the Perry Mason TV show theme song. A classic.

J Ruddy
Sid Vicious - My Way (ok in all seriousness, I've always been partial to Sonata No.14 in C#-, Op.27 No.2 "Moonlight" by Beethoven) (2nd or 3rd movement) [ February 23, 2007, 11:16 AM: Message edited by: J Ruddy ]
MeatEtr
Ok, it's been narrowed down to either this or that for the opening intro video/music. BFC also said that they were thinking about going with the original.. They have some very difficult decisions ahead of them.

luderbamsen
I absolutely hated the CMBB music. I'd heard it, repeatedly, earlier in my life, and it wasn't exactly happy memories it brought back to life. I'd go for "Ring of Fire", very cool song. Battlefront.com
I'd go for "The Great Divide" by Laibach, but that's just me Steve
M1A1TC
Yeah, most of German industrial songs would do. I would like to hear Funker Vogt, something from the Gunman album BTW, I have Laibach dvd
Battlefront.com
Yeah, but Laibach is Slovene Ack... I just realized... I've been listening to Laibach for... I can hardly say it... 20 years. I'm getting old enough to retire Steve

It lasted six months; he went back to work and is still doing what he loves and making good money at it. I suspect - I hope - that you shall be making games for the rest of us into your sixties as well. So simmer down! It'll probably take that long for me to convince you of the correct way to model the Bren Gun tripod in any event.
luderbamsen
Steve, Whatever you choose, please, please for the love of all that is good, do NOT use some metal/rock crap. Don't get me wrong, I like Laibach too, but just about every footage from Iraq or Afghanistan on youtube or whatever these days is accompanied by some rock soundtrack. It makes for a juvenile "gunz r kewl" sentiment and I'm so fed up with it I'm ready to puke if I have to suffer through any more of it. Classical music will do fine, but there are many other options, you figure it out. Anything "rockier" than Johnny Cash and I'll have to keep a bucket ready next to the PC. Ivan Drago
One of those artsy Middle Eastern instrumental melodies they play on meditation/stoner soundtracks would be good. Accompanied by a desert landscape background theme with heavily armored troops advancing over it. KICK ASS!!!1

I'm also partial to Beethoven's 9th (at least ever since watching "A Clockwork Orange"), but that may be a bit "European" for this game. Otherwise, I guess something like "Morning Has Broken" would be nice. I'm sure you get the picture. Respectfully luderbamsen
MikeyD
Since the game is going to include suicide bombers how about Patsy Kline singing "I fall to pieces". Since we'll be playing on topographic maps how about The Fall singing 'What's the lay of the land, my son?"

Elmar Bijlsma
People are overlooking the practical point that BFC would ideally not like to pay for the music. So I'm thinking Wagner, Prokofiev or some other dead guy.

MikeyD
Ah! Someone had mentioned that a looong time ago, the ability to swap-out MP3 files for opening music. Heck, that idea may not have even been for CMSF but maybe Drop Team or ToW. Its a nifty idea as long as it doesn't mean an extra 2 months programming.
Sgt.Rock of Easy Company
I dont know, "we didnt start the fire" popped almost immediatly into my head (something about major tensions in the world and this simulated war). Also, this kinda helps http://www.break.com/index/gernadewash.html (some language)
