Bulletpoint
Any thoughts on why Ukraine is striking striking south from Blahodatne? It seems a route that goes along a winding river. Difficult terrain - or better concealment? The route also goes through several villages. The axis towards Vasylivka seems more obvious to my layman eyes. A big road intersection that helps open the way to Tokmak.
Haiduk
Russian command transfers one battalion of Kadyrov troops "Zapad-Akhmat" (established in autumn of 2022 as unit of Rosgvardiya) from Zaporizhzhia front to Belgorod to fight RVC. This decision already summoned many negative feedback among Russians and even mixed reaction of milbloggers. Despite groveling before Kadyrov, many of Russians (even those, who support Kadyrov) have dislike of Chechens and fear them. It's will be interesting if Kadyrov fighters will abuse, humilitate and rob those, they have to defend and will fight with other Russians on Russian territory. Two Chechen wars, Chechnia, which suck milliards from Russian budget, when many of Russian Slavic regions sit on starvation diet, often impudent behavior of Chechens in Russian cities, where they feel themeselves "kings of life" that even local police desn't dare to arrest them for example for brawls and shooting - all this can cause unwanted effect, when sympaties of locals can gradually shift of own Slavic RDK troops.

Great news. Love to see reactions of Girkin and nats to this. They always complain about the paradox that defeated Chechens suck federal budget on billions of rubles. https://twitter.com/Maciej_Korowaj/status/1667981095994884097 South group, probably (on 70 %) introduces all its reserve, i.e. the 6th Division (operational reserve) into the fight. Ukrainian artillery did shot some apprachoing columns. They took casualties but moved forward. I have no idea where he has this info, but if true it seem to be trigerred by Ukrainians closing on main defence line. Maybe they will indeed try to counterattack, or hope these soldiers will man fortifications.

Road network with villages, enables good defense in case of Russian counter attack, by Vasylivka, are you referring to this one? https://goo.gl/maps/FdAB9KiDeP3Mhbjt6 If so, the defense lines in Zaporizhia Oblast are more extensive no? I just posted a thread where it looks like the defenses south of Blahodatne are less extensive than to the west.

kevinkin
From the warzone link above: Ukrainian troops have captured the towns of Blagodatnoye and Neskuchnoe, in southeastern Donetsk Oblast as well as around Kamenskoye in north-central Zaporizhzhia Oblast, according to Ukrainian troops, who posted a video on Twitter that CNN geolocated and Russian milbloggers, who are providing most of the information emerging from the battlefield. We cannot independently verify any of these claims. And, as with all such reports, skepticism is warranted. In addition, there is little official information coming from the Ukrainian side, though that is beginning to change. Of course at this stage Ukraine will highlight the positives. But they have little to gain by fabricating it.

FancyCat
Guess that explains why no gun run to Tokmak. Thank god NATO has airpower, but we really need to make more armor available for Ukraine as soon as possible.
cesmonkey
This post talks about the Ukrainian ability to jam or decode certain Russian radios, along with recommendations on how to deal with that.https://t.me/Mestb_Dobroj_Voli/6546 Here is the first part: Quote Goodwill Revenge Analysis by means of communications and control systems: With the beginning of active offensive operations of the enemy in areas of responsibility ... .. and ... .. the enemy managed to suppress communications on the R-187P1 "Azart" radio stations, managed to open the "Caltta" radio stations with 64 bit encryption, also the enemy has the technical ability to remotely eliminate radio stations of the DMR mode with 256-bit encryption, actively participating in the radio exchange (the stations are blocked).
