  1. I do it as follows. I give the mount order and estimate a rendezvous point for the vehicle and the passengers. The rendezvous point is a terrain-friendly feature for the vehicle. The vehicle can be some distance away it doesn't matter if you make both units travel to the same spot. A: Give the unit a mount order as usual. B: Make both units move to the rendezvous point.
  2. Here is one German complaining about the Bren. It may be more accurate than the MG 42. I almost gave the Sniper the credit as I heard a single shot on replay. But it was the scout and his Bren.
  3. @BornGinger thank you very much for your advice.
  4. At least we can agree on some things lol. But a proper medic team would be a nice addition too. Call for medical evacuation honoring the Red Cross protocol and penalties for breaking them.
  5. I had the same, it was the 60 mm mortar. An ammo carrier couldn't supply a different mortar which belonged to a different platoon. It is something they could investigate. Gun crews in general, would act very sensible if they seek cover during a barrage. But in our case, it counts as abandoning their guns.
  6. Nice I have been toying with it. Have a Google map, located the house of my uncle nearby. If the bridge-keeper had raised the bridge nothing would have happened. The guards would have cycled back to Germany and the Canadians would have kept their Bailey bridge. Problem is the houses; I just must guess what the town looked like during WW2. The bridge in the game would be a mined bridge as you can't construct a baily bridge. Followed by urban action with the city hall as an objective. Attics in Dutch houses were used as a spare storage room or bedroom. The model doesn't exist in Battle for Normandy.
  7. That is interesting, because the Arab Spring is unthinkable without mobile phones. You need to have an urban setting with the infrastructure still functioning. Their headquarters can have a more expensive satellite phone. They can even communicate through social media. It should be accessible in that case for the Blue Side as they have their intelligence services. Thanks for keeping us updated.
  8. There is two 50mm AT guns in the first battle of the campaign in the previous post he complained about it. I referred to the earlier battle. It was Taskforce Raff Campaign. I was recently playing the Tank Section Attack scenario (made by @Bil Hardenberger) and i was trying to move by a concealed route from an enemy AT gun. After setting a waypoint and checking the LoS from there i confidentely left one tank on that position. It took about 30 seconds to take a deadly shell from the AT gun and my tank was gone.
  9. Turning of trees can leave behind a dent of the structures eg pillboxes and it becomes obvious where these are. It is an editor's problem.
  10. To pair a tank with a AT gun is not a good choice. The AT gun has a better LOF and gets in the first shot. He spotted you before you spotted him. That is the 50 mm in the training campaign. AT guns better be dealt with by the 60 mm mortar.
  11. Terribly late because I am a new member. Masking introduce your sniper during an artillery barrage. Or when the battle is in full swing. First of all use your sniper as a spotter that is what he is doing most of the time. Insert him among foliage and not on the edge, shadows from the shadow through a shadow works in real life. In the game don't put him in a house. You can't knock a few bricks out remove a roof tile etc. Keyhole him when he can see plenty, he can be spotted by plenty.
  12. Real world tactics. He has got the lot. Captain DeLeon - YouTube
  13. LOS and LOF a good example is the movie Beersheba. The Australian Light Horse charges and at first it looks bad. Then the shells explode behind them. They were in LOS but not in LOF as they were 'Under the Guns'. Two Steps from Hell - Victory Charge of the Australian Light Horse, Beersheba - extended version - YouTube
  14. Control the civilian infrastructure. Buildings, dwellings, roads, bridges. See which terrain features control them. Otherwise, the objectives become ambush sites. Controlling is securing it doesn't mean you must seize them.
  15. Battle for Bolsward Friesland. Canadian Engineers were coming. The bridge keeper refused to raise the bridge and run away. The two Germans in the town were not pleased and threw some stick grenades in his house. Found some explosives and blew the bridge up. They made their escape on their bicycles and the Canadians had a new Baily Bridge up by sunset. Combat Mission version. A company of Waffen SS has a pillbox and a minefield near the Bridge with some PAK 75 mm. British Commonwealth does an Assault with the new Comet Tanks and 25 Pounders on Call. The real scenario a truck with engineers and two German soldiers is too tiny. They were OK told my uncle to keep his refugee girl inside the house. Those 2 guys were correct just raise the bridge because their methods are not always pleasant. Makes a tiny engagement.
  16. You get used to it, back in Perth I still woke up at 6 am. Don't make jokes either, like Halal Fried Egg. Sunni Side Up they can't take a joke.
  17. Unzipping the file is the cause of a lot of issues. The software should be included not a trial download. It is not a good look for new customers if you must charge a little more so that we can unzip the file with no issues.
  18. I don't know of any people who equal him with small arms. Be the first one on the range and the last one to leave (His Philosophy). In CM: Be the first one to shoot and be the one to fire the last shot. Speed and accuracy he shows his magic at 200 meters and with the pistol 25 meters. Now we have our computer squads with M4 Assault Rifles, don't fire from too far away. That is the job of support weapons and possibly the sniper. Jerry Miculek - Pro Shooter - YouTube
  19. Easy Hunt with Passengers this morning. AFV stopped the passengers run back to the direction of origin. This was plotted before the travel began. Place of origin so they run away from the enemy, and you can't run a kilometer in a minute.
  20. You don't go on 'Hunt' crossing the street in an urban operation. Yes, we prefer to play on WeGo and this goes with it. Do some test how fast infantry travels and plot your move near the end of a turn.
  21. As it is intended is slow, this is what happened to me yesterday, but they were on hunt through some foliage.
  22. The AI is slow, Mine troops were probing, and I had crack sniper teams on overwatch. During the sixty seconds' turn they didn't react. Elite snipers range 300 yards using a cover arc. My TacAI ignored the fire. What I see on screen is just Borg Spotting I suppose.
  23. I had it in SF2 Elite British doing a careful move to contact on 'Hunt'. They received fire but no icons were shown so they carried on. The enemy fired from cover and concealment. Lesson learned it is safe to fire from cover and concealment. It is not very good for approaching buildings. Treat buildings as they are occupied.
  24. This is a game, Chess also started as a wargame. This a 21st century style a combination of Battleship and Chess. You play and there is no risk involved or serious consequences.
  25. Read the comment of @Pelican Pal The squad suffers a casualty; the squad becomes at best cautious. Now split the squad in its 2 or 3 fire teams. Often only 1 fire team is affected the other one or two are not. Reunite them again once the casualty has been taken care off, often but not always the squad is OK. I find it a useful exercise if it can be done after securing the area.
