  1. Recon by Fire using the 'Light Fire Order'. This time he used the .50 Cal MG the tank before him didn't.

  2. If you don't move, you get done even from a hull-down. Mortars are in a AFV's too for a reason. Radar picks up the shells and expect counter artillery inside a few minutes. One of the things CM should look at.
  3. Like a Rugby match. Go for the ball and not for the man sometimes tackle too high sometimes tackle too low. Look forward to the All Blacks visiting
  4. Yes, you never know if you catch up. Right now, your guys are in Lockdown and I wish you all the best. We just come out of ours tomorrow. I go for the ball never for the man, different folks' different culture. Keep that in mind.
  5. I wouldn't ignore the German 'Wiesel'. Size of WW 2 Bren Carrier but with ATGM's. What we want is an action editor so the player can edit his own requirements.
  6. Armour protection on the turret roof is 17mm at some places. It was unbuttoned and dropped on the lap of the commander?
  7. Happened once in Seven Winds and it was a Stug III hit by a 25 Pounder. Things like that can happen in the most perfect ambush positions.
  8. Here one for down the road. Someone made the point helicopters see AFV's but not infantry. Tested this out with a Scimitar who moved 'Fast' his strongest defense. With aircover you do an effective recon. We spotted a pillbox and two ATGM's sites too. It works against the AI against a human player?
  9. All good, it is the way I do shoot and scoot, assault and recon by fire. Rest assured if I post a screenshot it is real. It is probably how the original shoot and scoot worked. No need for 15 sec sequences the AI has time to react. No frugality with ammunition makes sure it has a purpose. With modern battle tank fast only and it 100% more effective if you stop, you're gone.
  10. All I can do is play the game and make a screenshot of a technique. Test it yourself before you tell people it is fake. Bye.
  11. The AI does relative spotting which is different of what you do. The LOS gives you an idea that's all. The computer works out what your unit sees not what we see on the screen. Example you see that the German Tiger gives you a golden opportunity for your Firefly. But here you get a 'No LOS'. What happened the driver who looks right ahead saw the German tank but at the critical moment your commander spotted a German with a Panzerschreck 300 meters away. There are 4 crew in a Firefly if only one sees the tank you get a contact Icon.
  12. @Xorg_Xalargsky This is how: First Way Point just behind the Crest, Second Way Point just over. You need to experiment for different systems. One minute later.
  13. No, it doesn't as an example. An AFV is behind the crest of a hill. You plot a 'Fast Move' highlight and plot your direct fire. A recent Contact Icon is ideal as a target, after you plot your reverse. I used it with a Hellcat in FB Campaign. The Stug III didn't stand a chance but that was against the AI. In Modern Warfare the German Wiesel is ideal but that mini AFV is doing it most of the time. If you like I could make a screen shot.
  14. Try this way, fast forward plot a target for the full minute than a reverse he stops firing the moment he loses LOS. I am happy with it.
  15. I concur that is actually how it is done; we should be able to split an HMG crew. First party positions the tripod, the 2nd comes a little later with the gun. It could be an assault order for the HMG. We are a bunch of kids writing letters to Santa.
  16. I find that by combining an Assault order with a direct fire order it looks much more realistic. The squad forms a base of fire and a maneuver element. Don't make the path to long. Experiment and test.
  17. The TC also had to communicate with other tanks because not all T 34/76 had radio. I noticed they don't have this problem in CM.
  18. It is a computer program. In Photo Editing you have "Acions". If you do something very often you can record it like a video and apply it whenever you feel the need. What took you before an hour or more is now done in less than a second.
  19. I tested this out with a single story house blocking your LOS the minimum range is just over 500 mtrs.
  20. @Josey Wales on YouTube is about the best for information for tactics. For observing select Veteran and above. MG's and AT Guns let your mortars deal with them. Don't duel with other tanks unless you're for 100% sure your tank is much better. Houses and Bocage you never see a hiding enemy there. In this game if you never make a mistake you never learn anything.
  21. You decide when units enter area of operations. No need for too much clutter in the preparation area. Let's you organize a Troop Leading Procedure. Counter Fire (Artillery) the job has some risks attached at present they have a cushy number. Just brain storming
  22. @LongLeftFlank Thank you. The solution is simple under move we would select 'Follow' and you need to plot only one unit. Not only with AFV's a tank or tanks would follow an advancing in infantry unit. What I see in the editor I find 'Advance' very neat. Why we can't do this in player mode? It enables to make huge battles more fun. In "A war without mercy" the first half hour is spent plotting it can be much faster with tools available in the editor. Any hints for multi-unit road travel are welcome.
  23. There are programs which can complement CM for the big battles 'excel' I picked that one up at 'The Few Good Men'. The move orders should be improved. Like 'Follow' a vehicle and 'Fast' to automatically selects terrain (roads) where it can travel fast. With 'Follow' you would click any vehicle you wish to follow. In FB 'War without Mercy' almost takes the fun out of the scenario.
  24. If I offended anyone it was not intended and happy to apologize, I addressed only the cover arc rules. I wish him all the best with his rules, but I apply the cover arcs the way I see fit. Anyway, it is a non-issue I am not in a hurry to play anybody online soon. I bought the games to enjoy myself. You're in Oz if ever in Perth you can drop by to play on Hotseat. My backyard is not great, and anybody can say so.
