  1. Yeah, I don't think it's a thing that really happens with flamethrowers, even if Saving Private Ryan tells the opposite.
  2. The Belgians buy American because they don't want to buy French. In fact, they avoided buying any French fighter after that time we sold them Mirages in the late 60's.
  3. If curiosity was a word we didn't know, we would be. Thought that means we probably never would have known about the game in the first place.
  4. Troina is pretty weird. MG teams have M1919A6's.
  5. Chastise me for comparing CM to Graviteam all the time, but even they have a dev answering questions on the Steam and Graviteam forums most of the time. He's not very good at being PR-friendly (he's kind of a dick sometimes, actually) but at least he gives answers.
  6. http://www.mediafire.com/file/kom9ack4csl9ka6/Sidecaps+only.rar Here you go. The textures are vanilla-only. I can expect that you're able to rename files, if you're not happy with it.
  7. So, do you want a mod for side caps only? Are you using EZ's skin mod?
  8. Yeah, the categories got messed up a while ago for some reason. Just go on CMMODS IV to have an easier time.
  9. I'm sorry, but that's impossible. I can't make it so tank commanders wear different kinds of headgear at once because there's only one type of tank commander model in the game for each faction, and for the Germans that's a Leutnant. I can only make it so they all wear peaked caps or side caps. Both NCO's and officers wore peaked caps without the braids on the front, so it's a good compromise.
  10. You sure one of the crew doesn't have a grenade launcher?
  11. It sounded like you were dismissing it because it was inferior to Combat Mission. Just wanted to clarifiy for other people. Armored combat is well done in that game in my opinion, and the infantry AI is more independent, however it can lead to some stupid stuff happening, especially tight spaces. Ground deformation due to artillery is also a plus, it actually has trenches/foxholes that go under the ground and field guns are less laughably ineffective than in CM. If you like fighting across Ukraine's great plains, Graviteam would suit you more. If you like fighting through cities, bocage or more wooded areas then Combat Mission is you jam. I do admit that I own all of Graviteam's releases except Steel Fury and Achtung Panzer, but I've been playing Combat Mission more because it has better quality of life and infantry models (the ones in Graviteam and Tank Warfare are sometimes so trash I can't stand looking at them).
  12. I'm sure particle effects and area damages can be reasonably optimized. This is a feature that has been missing in action either way. Urban combat is very simplified already with houses with no rooms or basements and generic windows. There's no reason fire can significantly affect performance once applied to that system if it's optimized and/or simplified properly. I think Graviteam is on the right track. Buildings can be set on fire, and I believe individual trees as well. However fires don't spread across forests afaik.
  13. You should rename them "smod_american_helmet-soldier" and add the numbers after that if they aren't already. Otherwise I haven't really found out why this is happening yet. I don't own Final Blitzkrieg so I can't test it out. I'll download the mod to look at it. EDIT: I'd like to know where you got that mod from, since the one on CMMODS in the Engine 1 version. (the name is "z1st ID_OD" and not "z1st ID_OD (v2)")
  14. He said later that the SG43 takes more time to set up than an M2HB. The two HMG's the Soviets have are the Maxim gun, which is water-cooled, and the SG43 which is air-cooled. They're both belt-fed and on wheels with a gun shield. I'm not sure how transport over large distances was done (I think it was broken down in multiple parts and carried on the soldier's back), but in combat they would sometimes be pushed forward while still firing. I'm not joking. Otherwise they would be dragged around, and I'm sure at least two men could lift them up if the need arises. I think the current logic the game uses is the breaking down into multiple parts thing, which is probably why it's so long.
  15. Well, how much money do they have then? I doubt they run on the same economy as monks in an abbey. (I wouldn't be surprised if they weren't far from that however) BF is already quite lucky to have so many testers free of charge from a solid, yet small community.
  16. It really should be implemented, I mean, the concept of a scout team is about as old as warfare itself. It's unfathomable that the concept of a scout team was foreign to even the Italian Royal Army.
  17. You talk about the grass but I see that Fallschirmjaeger texture mod. :lickinglips: By the way, welcome back EZ.
  18. Guess you can post this in my thread, since this seems like a loadout oversight.
  19. Absolutely agree. I doubt Steve and all have as much time as me to play the games and notice these kinds of things. Even with all the messing around with mods I do. Though the lack of patches for two years has been felt, we got a spanking new Shock Force out of it, thanks to them.
