  1. It might be a bit confusing, but I'm talking about the ranks displayed in the UI, thus the actual rank of the soldiers. I have not seen a Junior Sergeant in-game yet even though the files for the rank are there, and the actual rank of platoon leaders or equivalent does not change from Captain, the actual rank of company leaders does not change from Major, and the actual rank of battalion leaders doesn't not change from Lt. Colonel. Now, the 3D models, yes, mid-officers are Lieutenants for some reason. I'm using Vein's mods, which corrected a few things but was still incorrect, so I modified it so platoon leaders are only 2nd Lieutenants, company leaders are Captains and battalion leaders are Majors. I changed the UI ranks (which are also incorrect for the senior officer ranks: the stars should be gold like all the others) accordingly. I've also noticed Praporschik ranks even though they didn't even exist during WW2. This seems like it was a part that was glossed over before release.
  2. Yeah, but since they're M240 animations in the first place and the M240s in the modern games have optics attached, he isn't. Sadly nothing much I can do. I'm still waiting for an account. Maybe CMFDR can upload it? I won't really mind since they're pretty much renamed animations that were in the game's files in the first place.
  3. Yep. There's not much I can do further than blaming Battlefront for making doubtful choices. Of course, they've got other and much more important things to do.
  4. I was honestly a bit annoyed by CM's rendition of the Germans firing their LMG's with one hand on the barrel, so I saw that US soldiers in the modern games seemed to hold the M240 closer to what a German GPMG should be. So I swapped some files and voilĂ : Here's the download link: http://www.mediafire.com/file/vb8xtrx2j0mciau/mg42_anims.rar/file Install it by unzipping it into the Z folder inside your data folder. Create it if you don't have one. It should work for all CM2 games. Let the spirit of the MACHINE GUN be with you.
  5. holy crap, they are report this immediately
  6. Well, let's hope Battlefront saw that. We gave it another chance to see it here.
  7. Sorry, text isn't exactly the best at conveying tone and you can see how seriously I take these things. How do you make it so MGs deploy in less time though? I think it should be posted in this thread since it's apparently a bug.
  8. What's the glitch in the first place? Please do tell, since this is a thread about bugs. More or less.
  9. I already said this, but let me offer a picture of the problem: Gear for US Airborne seems to be too low in comparison to the belt on the uniform. This image is indeed modded but the belts are the same height on both vanilla and modded skins, and the mods don't modify any model files. They seem to be using the same model as regular GI gear, and their belts are lower, which seems to explain it.
  10. Thank you for a kick in the ass that brought my research a bit further than a few lazy Google searches. I'm still kinda sore though. Is this enough?
  11. By the way, the crew size is incorrect: the loader is missing.
  12. Okay, now we've learned that SPG crews indeed wore the Fallschirmjaeger helmet. But they seemingly did not wear the Knochensack. The pictures I found seem to all be in Italy, unless stated otherwise. Battlefront probably had trouble combining the SPG wrap with said helmet, so instead they opted to put Fallschirmjaeger in the SPGs. It would still be incorrect. Edit: Here's a thread I found about those tropical guys. It's said that they're wearing regular Luftwaffe tropical uniforms, but then the paras next to them seem to be doing the same. https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/missinglynx/fallschirmjagers-marders-in-italy-t29777.html#p601942 This guy on the right is definitely wearing an SPG uniform.
  13. Here's some more food for thought Guy on the left is wearing a Fallschirmjaeger helmet. They might be training in Germany. The boys are wearing their sidecaps, not in combat, and they're wearing the white collar tabs. In the field, white collar tabs and caps again. This looks closer to the game's depiction, however everyone's wearing the helmet and tropical uniforms. Seemingly the same boys. Looks like they're Fallschirmjaeger themselves.
  14. Okay, now I've noticed that these Fallschirmjaeger also man the Luftwaffe tank destroyers Maybe they're some sort of stand-in for helmeted self-propelled gun crews? Why did Battlefront not do the same thing as the Heer's equivalent and just give them the steel helmet?
  15. If you're talking about a real photograph, then I'm afraid there's few chances that one would ever have been taken in these specific conditions (a Stummel from the Hermann Goering Division in Italy 1943-1944 with the crew visible, considering that there were only about six per battalion and the Propaganda Kompanie would rather have headed towards the Panzers, in the few times they were in Italy). I'm using deduction here, because I've got no material of the sort. There is apparently no reason that the crew historically did not use the standard uniform. I've noted that Heer Stummel crews wear the Sturmartillerie uniform, with helmets. Battlefront probably had trouble finding the equivalent Luftwaffe uniform, and not wanting to make a new one specifically for Stummels settled for Fallschirmjaeger uniforms. Luftwaffe assault gun crews don't wear the white Hermann Goering collar insignia, they wear the feldgrau panzer division wrap with red piping and Luftwaffe eagle. Christ, this is really grinding my gears. Edit: Got Brummbars from the division They're from the same service, and they're wearing black Panzer jackets. One of them seems to be wearing feldgrau, and seeing how dark the piping seems to be, it should be red. If they were inside an open-topped assault gun like the Stummel they probably would have traded their side caps for helmets.
  16. Right, I shouldn't have posted that image without any explanation. Mind if I ask what was inconsistent with the first post?
  17. Read my earlier posts, please, if you haven't already. You don't seem to be taking this with the right foot. There's not supposed to be a Stummel in the image because I'm trying to argue that Fallschirmjaeger aren't supposed to man Stummels, and only Stummels, in-game. Apparently, it's not going through?
  18. Basically, there's Fallschirmjaeger manning Luftwaffe Panzer Division Stummels. I think there's something wrong with that. Because they appear only inside the Stummels. And because Fallschirmjaeger didn't historically appear in these armored units. You read my earlier posts about the subject, right? It would be obvious that you would be confused if you only read this post.
  19. Courage and Fortitude's first mission is relatively easy for what the next mission has for you...
