  1. Wait, wasn't this thread about a CM module of the Third Reich's demise in the East?
  2. The thing with CMFB is that it uses a lot more mod tags than CMBN. Textures will be replaced by others if the ground conditions are muddy or snowy, or if vehicles are supposed to be whitewashed, which will make the default textures not appear. Copy-pasting then renaming should do the job if Aris hasn't made the corresponding textures. If you can't see what's wrong, extract the base game files using the mod tools BF generously gave us access to and take a peek inside the texture folders. 99% of the time your answer will be there. There may also be more vanilla texture variants than Aris made. He also made a few textures for CMFB, go snatch them.
  3. Well, you could just have clicked on the title of the video here in this thread.
  4. I had no intention of insulting you, even if it may have seemed so. I'm just telling you what I've noted from seeing your posts on the matter. Really, there's nothing bad about this, and it's only normal if you're not familiar with how a game is built. Of course I'm not saying that I can't be wrong about this either.
  5. Watch it on Youtube. It works there, though the subtitles are unfortunately desynchronized.
  6. I'd taken zero casualties at that time. I definitely don't think it's tied to that, in fact it seems you make erroneous connections often in front of coincidences.
  7. I was playing a Market Garden scenario with the 82nd, and after having suppressed a house with a surrendering German left in it, a team of Paratroopers passed by and one of them threw a grenade through the window. No prisoners is the way for Airborne, apparently.
  8. Oh Christ, I didn't even think of taking Juju's UI ranks off. Thanks for reminding me to do that. All ranks seem pretty much correct now. It seems patch v312, which apparently came out after the last version of that mod changed the KM ranks. Anyway, it made for a nice discussion.
  9. Well, a "temporary" (I don't think BF is going to be too bothered with this, they got other things to do) "fix" (maybe the ranks are correct after all, though I doubt it looking at CMRT Soviet ranks) could be to try and switch UI ranks around, but then I don't really have an idea of what goes where. Maybe the ranks would reflect Army ranks?
  10. I played a bit of "Facade Troops" before "jumping into" the scenario editor as well and looking at the formation, as I always do when something seems fishy. Yes, in fact I modified it so it more or less reflects the in-game ranks, like I do with the rest of EZ's German uniform mods.
  11. The thing is that two M4A1 variants are already in the base game. Not the M21 though.
  12. It is. Shrapnel goes up, so if you're in the upper floors of a building you'd have chances to catch some, though.
  13. Those specops you're talking about would most of the time be doing spooky stuff far behind enemy lines (except maybe the Rangers and of course the already existing Syrian special forces). Combat Mission is not the best at simulating specops stuff, since it's mostly focused on frontline combined arms combat, so let's not stray too far from the subject matter.
  14. - Possibly. - There was no need for a tropical uniform, for the places in Italy they were engaged in were rather temperate. We might see some Palmenmuster smocks though. - You can see them already in screenshots - M44 was only issued to Waffen-SS. We probably won't see them, but we will see smocks and parkas without a doubt.
  15. Well, in fact they'd have about 1/3. You can't do North Africa starting 1940 with the stuff from CMFI, there's just too much stuff needed that isn't in the game, especially vehicles, and it seems that Italian TO&E's varied quite a lot during that stretch of time. Now I won't doubt it will be doable for BF.
  16. You need to wait for the order to process. Look inside the "My Orders" menu in your account and you will see the bundle listed, if it says "Process" then you need to wait, if it says "Completed" or something like that you can click on it and find the download link. It can sometimes take more than an entire day to process, so you need to be patient. By the way which bundle did you get?
  17. Err, did you rename "background wind" to "background day combat" and put it at the root of the Mods folder? Put it in a folder of which the name starts with "z" if it doesn't work. Don't put the "z" in the actual file's name, it won't work. I'm taking a look at the mod and I see a "background day combat [mountains]". Try to duplicate "background winds" and name it "background day combat [mountains]" as well. I don't use the Mods folder in Documents so I have no clue how differently it works from just putting a Z folder into the Data folder.
  18. Sure, I see. TO&E definitely would be a big problem due to the mish-mash of nations and services, and I didn't really think about it before now but the expansion is also supposed to span practically 11 months from what I've gathered! I would wait a few more months for more scenarios. Because I like having as many scenarios to pick from (unfortunately I often don't have the patience to play through them most of the time and instead I'm editing uniform textures or something). Or maybe they could do it like CMSF2's campaigns and release the remaining scenarios after it comes out. Of course other people are sure to not share my opinion, but these are my two cents.
  19. Well, quite a lot of stuff is carried over from other games, right? (Waffen-SS, Luftwaffe field divisions, Gebirgsjaeger, various vehicles and weapons...) It can also be used again in further expansions. (That StuG IV has me interested) I'd say that it's barely acceptable to limit the scenario count, because it's good to have the toys and as many playground choices as the previous expansions. Plus apparently no new voices have been done for this expansion, so that's already a relatively consequent weight off.
  20. The French Expeditionary Corps was actually equipped with quite a lot of US weaponry (mostly M1917 Enfields and M1919A4's, maybe Thompsons as well). I'd say that it isn't especially needed to model French weapons and especially vehicles. French vehicles were I'd say pretty much nowhere to be found, since there was no armored unit inside the FEC.
  21. I didn't say that they wouldn't be out of the game if they took a direct hit.
  22. Having just purchased CM Normandy's big pack, I jumped in to take a look at the Kriegsmarine formations and I've come to realize that the only commissioned officer present in any formation is the battalion commander, who holds the rank of Ensign. This is very doubtful for me, surely there would be a few more, even for such ragtag formations? I've done some limited research on Kriegsmarine ranks, and I don't have much of an idea of how they apply to ground forces. Can anyone shed some light on the subject?
