  1. I can't see how he's got OCD if my Red Thunder "inaccuracies" thread has some issues that are glaring. But then if he really did have OCD we probably would have seen Red Thunder only last year or something, hahah.
  2. By the way people, this is a joke. You're supposed to either laugh or walk away.
  3. Try to turn the model quality to the lowest setting as well. I'd reckon that if you want to play this scenario you'd need to turn the texture detail all the way down as well. Shaders don't affect performance all that much.
  4. He's a French soldier from the 1er RPIMa. It's written in the video description. He even has a Croix de Lorraine tattoo, which I didn't notice. Didn't notice the French Centre Europe camo either...
  5. Here you go. The muzzle flash is pretty visible at the same angle. I've watched him shooting AR's and it's pretty similar to the video you linked. Here the muzzle flash is less visible however. Probably due to the camera and lighting.
  6. Actually, after a bit of thinking, I got that feeling when playing the WW2 CM's. I think you can get why. What you're saying is right, the effect is just right for modern rifles in intermediate calibers and such, but not so much for WW2. Any chance for a WW2 version?
  7. The thing is, the footage is shot from only a single angle and illumination. Not much to build the effects on in my opinion. Certain cameras probably don't catch the flash properly either. I think it's better to check multiple videos. I'll try out the night effects.
  8. I just tried it out and I think the small arms muzzle flashes need to be a tad bit more noticeable. It's like they're instantly smothered in the smoke.
  9. Very nice mod. By the way, you'll use mod tags for the night effects, right? I'm pretty sure the [night] tag works.
  10. Battlefront could make tags out of anything. Now, will they feel like doing it?
  11. I think you can't see the normalmaps because you have shaders off in-game. Toggle them on with Alt+R. I don't know why, but when you load into certain scenarios, shaders are off by default, even if you saved mid-game with shaders on.
  12. Same here in all of France. Hell, I went to the beach today.
  13. Oh man, let's get ready to lose another few mods on the way.
  14. Lost Command came out in the 60's, by the way. I haven't seen it, yet at least. Talking about actual 50's French war films about colonies lost, La 317e Section is a very good pick. http://www.allocine.fr/video/player_gen_cmedia=19459033&cfilm=5354.html Authentic battle scenes, well-written characters who gracefully avoid cliché. Hot-and-humid jungles. Pretty far from the Hollywood that Lost Command seems to have come out of now that I look closer at it. The film would be quite hard to obtain though. I have it on my computer, however there aren't any subtitles. I can make some.
  15. If you haven't noticed, he's saying exactly what you're saying. I think. @IanL, he's saying what you're saying, right?
  16. Nailed it. There's also the Fallschirmjaeger campaign. There's also no official British, Canadian or even Kiwi campaigns right now. That really should change.
  17. By the way, if you want side caps on your tank commanders, all you need to do is extract the base game files, rename some model and texture files and you're good to go. If you don't feel like you can do it, then I'll be happy to do it for you if you ask. Unfortunately, there aren't any field cap models in the games.
  18. Here's the field cap for officers (the insignia aren't present): The one for enlisted and NCO's: The side cap for officers (Panzer arm): The one for enlisted and NCO's (Artillery arm): The crusher cap could be worn with a white braid for officers, however it seems like it wasn't done often in the field, like the old Panzer Meyer shows us:
  19. Wait. We're talking about the WW2 games, right? The padded berets were not in use anymore after the Battle of France, which no games cover as of now. German tank commanders did wear side caps and field caps, with white piping for officers. I think it helps distinguish between the rest of the crew (which we don't see much of anyway) and the commander, and because it's just plain classy and correct anyway.
  20. Yeah, BF's words seem more like an excuse than an explanation. Hopefully an overhaul will be a part of the plans, if it isn't already. I forgot about the bottom plate on the gun, woops.
  21. The top part of the 53-K's gun shield could be lowered as well. It could easily be done in combat. AT guns in this game definitely need an overhaul. They need to be treated like vehicles which can be bailed out of, because once the crew abandons it, it becomes absolutely useless.
  22. Neat, I thought it might have been that as well.
  23. I think we should call you "that guy" now. That guy who digs up a 6 year old post to take a dump on a 6 year old scenario. By the way, some arguments would be nice. Personally the only big problem I've found is that the scenario's time limit is too short. But that can easily be edited.
  24. Does the game have a dynamic light spotting system? For example, if a unit is close to a burning wreck at night, is it easier to spot? Just having that may make flares easier to do.
