  1. I recently got hit with a fraudulent credit card transaction myself. The only ones before that one was purchases from Steam, CMRT and the big bundle for CMFI. It might be because of an even earlier one, but I still do wonder if it comes from here. Not that it really matters anymore, I'm making sure this thing won't be happening again. Or will have the least chances of happening again.
  2. I haven't checked anything, but when vehicles spawn, the crew that can be seen from the exterior is in the middle of transitioning animations, which can cause clipping. The angle of the terrain the vehicle is on can also cause crew clipping. EDIT: Ok, I've checked it and it's definitely not right. You can see the front and rear gunner's legs. Sitting: Standing:
  3. Note: this also affects the earlier 1943 rifle battalion organization, where rifle platoon leaders have their HQ unit. Sapper battalions and AA batteries seems to have this problem as well. Note 2: SMG companies are unaffected, I think it's safe to assume that they're the only ones who aren't affected by this problem after further checking in the scenario editor. I don't think I've seen any Junior Sergeants either. So, to sum it up, platoon and company leaders' ranks are too high, all officer ranks under Captain are unused, icons for ranks over Captain are incorrect, Junior Sergeants nowhere to be seen (except probably tank crews), platoon leader's 3d model is incorrect in most cases. I've made some fixes for the ranks myself with existing mods, if you're interested, give me a shout.
  4. Soviet rifle platoon leaders (which are embedded inside the 1st rifle squad) have the wrong uniform. They show Private ranks. This kind of thing shows up as well for a few HQ units like the ATR platoon or Machine gun platoon. Then again, you can see the number of SVT's reach a number that's in fact closer to pre-war numbers (8 SVT's per platoon, when DMS pointed out 2 would be a reasonable number for this timeline). I've also noted that platoons are commanded by Captains and companies by Majors according to the UI, and I have never seen any Soviet officer under the rank of Captain in this game. I think this has something to do with the UI being incorrect (I've tested it with and without Juju's UI mod, and the ranks are the same). The UI's senior officer ranks, in other words over Captain, are also incorrect (the stars are silver when they should be gold).
  5. Pz IV G (late) and (latest) commander sticks the entire bust out of his cupola. It's inconsistent with every other Pz IV's behavior.
  6. Sure, maybe some Fallschirmjaeger helmets may have gotten into some HG division infantrymen's hands. However, it seems like a very weird choice for only Stummel crews to be affected. In theory you can already model them. Their organization didn't change from the original Fallschirmjaeger regiment, though it seems they were annihilated in Tunisia, which makes it doubtful that they fought in Sicily or Italy. Maybe someone else has documentation on the HG div. Personally I have a library of WW2 aviation books that my dad, who is almost repulsed by anything that has to do with fighting on the ground, owns.
  7. About the tracers, I wish Battlefront made it so only machine guns fire them. When you think about it, there's quite a few things that detract from authenticity in these games. Of course, the rest is top notch, it's only brought down by minor things that could have a very simple solution or things that require more thought and/or are difficult to implement with the current engine.
  8. Okay, I've got it, it only shows up if the battalion commander is using a temperate uniform, as opposed to tropical.
  9. Luftwaffe armored infantry battalion commander wears a Heer uniform. It's present on only a few formations, I'm checking them all right now.
  10. Yeah, the point of difficulties is that you have a choice.
  11. It's from the scenario editor, inside the Luftwaffe Panzergrenadier Battalion [armored] 43A, 43B and 44 formations. I'm using mods which give the Panzergrenadiers Waffen-SS camo smocks and Luftwaffe camo tunics. I guess I should take them off for more clarity.
  12. Well, about the differences between Ausf. C and Ausf. D, could it be found that something is inconsistent? They are supposed to be practically the same vehicle after all.
  13. The world definitely needs one about WW2 militaria.
  14. that seems like a very convoluted reason for this feature. you can't really prevent anything from turning into a weapon on a battlefield. if you can't strangle him with the strap, might as well bash his head in with the big freaking steel pot you have in your hands. here's an article from a seemingly pretty legit site on the subject: https://olive-drab.com/od_soldiers_gear_m1_helmet.php
  15. We don't really know if this is even a decision. Maybe there was a mistake while copy-pasting character names, it could be anything, really. I think it would be worth it to report this. Simply the fact that Fallschirmjaeger were not a core part of the Fallschirm-Panzer Division Hermann Goering, despite its name, is indicative of it. Nor does it seem like they officially received equipment like Fallschirmjaeger helmets or Knochensacks, especially to equip Stummel crewmen and only Stummel crewmen. They did notably receive Waffen-SS camouflage smocks, however. By the way, we do agree that the "Open Up" command thing is most likely a bug, right?
  16. US steel helmets used to do that until the strap was made so it broke when the impact force was great enough. However the damage to its reputation was already made. I've always found that M1 helmets look better with the strap secured at the back anyway.
  17. Doing this, I also noticed that the Stummel Ausf. C's have the gunner peeking out of the halftrack, and the Ausf. D's have them staying inside the halftrack. There is no "Open up" command for both of them. I'm not sure if it affects visibility, and it seems to be a bug that affects all games the Stummel is in, since I noticed this in Red Thunder as well. Last picture was an Ausf. C, the following one is an Ausf. D
  18. Well, the Hermann-Goering Division had Panzergrenadiers, there were no organic Fallschirmjaeger mechanized units. This is the only time Fallschirmjaeger show up in any Luftwaffe panzer unit. You can see this by visualizing units in the scenario editor. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1st_Fallschirm-Panzer_Division_Hermann_Göring I'd say this is a bug where the wrong character models were assigned. The vehicle commander also appears to be driving the vehicle in some instances. It seems that they should all be wearing Luftwaffe Assault Gun uniforms instead, when comparing it to equivalent Heer units. The commander should wear his peaked cap and the driver his side cap. The rest of the crew should be wearing regular infantry helmets. The names of the formations they're from are Luftwaffe "Panzergrenadier Battalion 43A [armored]", "Panzergrenadier Battalion 43B [armored]" and "Panzergrenadier Battalion 44 [armored]"
  19. Alright, I understand. I'll keep an eye out for practical things to report.
  20. Well, really, the reason I make these threads is to help make the game more accurate. One of their selling points is their accuracy to the TO&E's, vehicle models, weapons and equipment. That means it's quite bothering if you spot an inacurracy, then another, and then another. Then, some of my knowledge may be incorrect, which this thread helps with so I have other people to discuss these facts. In a conversation like the ones we have here, one side will always come out better informed, if everything goes right. What I feel about the accuracy of CM is that it's harder to reach a very good amount of accuracy, since their games focus on different fronts and different eras, and the devs are only so many, and thus only do so much work getting these kind of things right, because they have to do the same amount of work on each game. The Graviteam guys recently focused their efforts only on a few regiment or battalion-scale operations on the Eastern Front, while trying to make it as accurate to the last soldier fighting in the last unit. Of course, before that they had developed their 3D models of tanks and weaponry, and they are practically flawless. They only bother developing weapons and vehicles that were present in the battles they attempt to represent, and most of them were standard-issue. There are a few quirky vehicles, indeed, but they represent the operation they historically operated in. An exchange I remember with one of the devs on the Steam Forums is when I asked about future inclusions of the SU-76M. He then proceeded to unfold every reason why the designation "SU-76M" is inaccurate to the vehicle we are talking about, and that Western sources which talk about the Eastern Front can be very doubtful. It was quite educative and eye-opening, even though he chose to do it in a somewhat unpleasant way, which he usually does when he talks to the players on the forum. The accurate designation is "SU-15M" by the way. I remember looking it up on Google and Wikipedia and finding only the name of the Sukhoi interceptor, nothing about a Soviet self-propelled gun. "SU-76" actually designates the entire family of Soviet self-propelled guns which had 76mm guns. The suffix "M" designates an upgraded version. There, I just felt like writing a block of text at 1 in the morning. Good night.
  21. You've got me there. I guess I played too much Graviteam games, since they're set in 1942-1943, where there were still quite a few in German units. Apart from that, should the PPSh show up as well? They're pretty abundant. I've seen a scenario with a captured SU-85 on the German side. That's what made me think about captured weapons. Regular Heer infantry units did seldom capture enemy vehicles and use them against their enemy, just like their Soviet counterparts, and it seemed to have happened quite frequently on the Eastern Front. Why not at least make a system so instead of just making an unit that seemingly switched sides, it comes manned by a crew from its faction, with its insignia? Anyway, this is just nitpicking, the SU-85 can shoot through tanks and blow up infantry just fine.
