  1. I managed to find one in Normandy with just one skirt left. All the others were a full set or none at all.
  2. ... in the words of Pamela Stephenson and Mel Smith ... You know the rest if you are of a certain age.
  3. You're not doing anything wrong. When you look at your order near the top it should read Order Status - Completed. Lower down on the left you should see Shipment Status - Pending. When the Battle Pack is actually released that should change, and your activation code will work. I think in a previous post someone mentioned that there will also be a new patch, v2.12, but I didn't notice that on the actual pre-order page. If that is the case, there should be an announcement due.
  4. An old girlfriend of mine used to run a restaurant just off of Hell's Highway near Eindhoven. There would always be veterans in there this time of year. A very interesting video
  5. Obviously, I have previous when it comes to the royals. But, most Limeys enjoy/wallow in what you call "nonsense", so you will just have to put up with it a bit longer. As for the original post, the Pathe newsreel, that was blatant propaganda. Through no fault of her own, she didn't really "do her bit". Lizzie Saxe-Coburg und Gotha wasn't allowed to enroll with the ATS until she was 18 in the spring of 1944. Then she had to wait around 11 months before she attended a training camp in March '45. And still then she was treated totally differently from her comrades, no cold nights in a tent, or a Nissan hut, instead she was driven back to Windsor Castle every evening. It probably wasn't what she wanted, but that is how it was. "And now on BBC Television we take you live to the Royal Festival Hall where the Princess Elizabeth is being presented to some greasy oik who can't be bothered to put a suit on."
  6. The bridge is a "Touch" objective. Moving your troops on to it replicates the laying of large demo charges for furure demolition after the mission ends. You are not expected to blow the bridge in the same way you would blow a gap in a hedge. The message is a bit misleading.
  7. He was no hero, hence my being thankful for being wrong.
  8. When I saw the title of this thread I thought that it was going to be about Steve Davis, thankfully I was wrong.
  9. I didn't experience any friendly fire in the mission entitled "Home" which also features partisans, but takes place in daylight. So my money is still on it being pitch black, and the fact that quite a few of the troops in this mission are "Green".
  10. Her finest hour. Lizzie Saxe-Coburg und Gotha gets presented to "The Guv'nor" Ken Colyer at The Royal Festival Hall 14th July 1951. As for her being the "First Lady", she wasn't. That title goes to Billie Holiday as Margaret Rose would have been happy to tell you if she was still with us.
  11. I think that the video is a tad misleading, as it looks like the OP was using "Artificial Night Lighting", so we obviously have a much better view than his troops do. And I think that the outbreak of friendly fire is understandable, if somewhat annoying. With regards to the scenario as a whole, given that our colonial convict cousin was going for "50% Hollywood", I think he did a good job
  12. Elizabeth lifts her eyes from this morning's Whitehall Gazette, and groans, "Oh, no. Another bloody Charles. I suppose you'll be wanting me to go and see Mrs. Axeman."
  13. Very true. And even worse on a small battlefield in low light conditions. I just wanted to planes to F%*& off.
  14. Friendly fire has always been in the game. But it occurs pretty rarely, and usually at night. When I played this battle, I was struck by how often it broke out. Although I don't think it was down to a change in the way the game engine works.
  15. We have issues in our local park. This one proved problematic when I tried crossing it on my bike in the early 70's. Ah, we were all so much younger then.
  16. I think it is time to pay due "Homage to Aberdonia", as George Orwell once said, allegedly.
  17. Yes, I agree. When I made my previous post I had only had time to check Battle for Normandy. Last night I took a look at RT and couldn't find anyway to download these two scenarios, perhaps @Bootie could check them out.
