  1. So glad that you added the "f", otherwise we'd be thinking it was the bloke who ran the local bordello.
  2. The Old Bailey Judge - Who's Diana Ross? QC - Miss Ross is a rhythm and blues chanteuse from the United States M'lud. Judge - The United States? QC - Our former colonies in the Americas M'lud. Judge - Oh, those ungrateful bounders.
  3. Looks good, and at 3 in the morning we can forgive you the typo. Bloody insomnia!
  4. The only trailer I'd seen when this thread first appeared was indeed "crap". And it turned out to be the opening scene of the first episode, not a good start. I found the series itself watchable for the most part, except when it went into mediocre "rock video" mode. It was highly fictionalized, and I probably won't bother rewatching it on the iPlayer unless I'm really stuck for something to watch.
  5. We had some bloke over here who thought he could be a rebel. Ignoring the will of the people whilst rolling in money and sporting bling. He started a war, lost it, and refused to accept the result, then started another war, and lost that one too. Things got a bit messy after that. Meanwhile back in the Ardennes, has anyone found this crossroads?
  6. I know a bit about Civil Wars on both the right side and the wrong side of the pond. And I'd always thought that Parker's Crossroads was in TN, rather than the Ardennes. Elizabeth looks up from this week's Whitehall Gazette and mumbles, "is that your idea of a rhyme?"
  7. When playing as the Germans and something goes wrong the words "Unter den Bloody Linden" fill the air.
  8. It is certainly a fantastic looking map. I'm not very far into it, but even if I lose it will be enjoyable.
  9. No, you don't. But I really should let Mr. Axeman have a night off. Now, "I wanna ...
  10. Best get back to Berlin. Mr. Axeman hasn't had much work from me lately.
  11. "Elizabeth kindly ask the maid to fetch the vomit pail, someone just mentioned the perma-tanned scum."
  12. @Phantom Captain Nice screenshots. I'm starting with the "Lessons", so the King Tiger will have to wait.
  13. That's good news. I will be revisiting Fire and Rubble after I've battled my way through the Battlepack.
  14. Downloaded over brekky. Thank to @George MC for his time and effort. Let the defeats commence.
  15. E-mail received. Good things come to those who can't resist resorting to cliches. Ducks as Elizabeth's rolling pin flies through the air.
  16. There were rumours in the music press that "Shorty and the Strange One" had agreed to appear in Mr Pye's latest production but these proved to be unfounded. The words "Get outta here, you Limey schmuck", cannot be confirmed.
  17. I would say that the Moltke Battle needs a bit of work. During the Set-up Phase some of the troops can't be moved because of the way the "red" section has been laid out. In particular one of the FOs is in a tower at the front of the station with no windows. He can't be moved until the battle starts and the only way he can go is into the line of German fire. Also, when one of the reinforcing Assault Guns arrives, it is stuck inside the railway station.
  18. By coincidence I'm reading Pepys at the moment. He began his famous diary a couple of years after Noddlehead died and would sometimes beat his servants if they failed in their duties. That was when he wasn't chasing skirt around London and Westminster.
  19. Elizabeth looks up from her Whitehall Gazette. "Is a blender some kind of mechanical wooden spoon?" Noddlehead wakes from his afternoon nap. "Did you say something dearest?"
