  1. Not only does it come as a PDF, it's pretty damn funky.
  2. I didn't know that you could buy the game without the manual. You might what to check your CMBN files.
  3. @Combatintman Thanks for your explanation. Hopefully it will be a lot of fun to play.
  4. You might want to try more yellow grass, dirt, and rocky terrain tiles. At the moment it looks a bit too much like northern France.
  5. I always love it when members of the same Squad take on different targets to the left or right as they pop up. And then the beauty of WEGO allows you to watch it again and again.
  6. I seem to remember in AH's France 1940, that was called "The Idiot Game".
  7. A nice find, John. Thanks. It also features a nice piece of parking.
  8. I currently fighting the first mission from "Amiens Tonight". I received a Carrier Platoon as reinforcement, and had no problems. The Mortar bomb icon appears on the UI and the can use the weapon normally. I'm running Engine 3.
  9. BANNED by Aunty Beeb in '67. But, luckily not in here.
  10. I actually said that first, at Naseby. But, my quill and ink were in the baggage train, and got stolen by that Rhinelander Prinz Ruprecht, so I wasn't able to write it down..
  11. Having given the campaign another go, I got to this mission bearing in mind Majick's OP. First impression of the map. The "Monastery" looks like nothing of the sort. It is just a hilltop church with a low wall about 1 AS away. No cloisters, no vegetable patches, no orchards, no barns, and no high wall. In other words, nowhere to ambush Jerry. My tanks, and infantry in, or near the church, got slaughtered within a few minutes. And it wasn't too much longer before my outflanking troops followed a similar fate. I hit "Cease Fire" once I'd lost all my tanks. Of course, that meant the campaign terminated early. And although I scored a "Tactical Victory" overall, it was still a disappointing end.
  12. And there was thinking that the "MAD MINUTE" was what CM was all about.
  13. My worst experience came when I had spotting rounds landing behind my FO. I quickly hit "Cease Fire" before he got hit.
  14. Maybe one day, the game will have Hedgerow 1, Hedgerow 2, Hedgerow 3, etc etc etc. All of varying heights, thicknesses, and made up of different types of trees, and soils. But, I can't imagine it is top of BFCs to do list.
  15. Yeah watching your men suffer whilst not being able to intervene can be agony. But, then watching them kill enemy who suddenly pop up will have you cheering like crazy. And I particularly enjoy it when members of the same Squad start taking on different enemy targets at the same time.
  16. For most forumites. Either "Devon Basic Training " or "Task Force Raff Combat Training" are considered to be "the first campaign". I now realise that you are attempting to play the game alphabetically. If I were you I would watch all of the Armchair General videos. Then watch one or more of the videos from Task Force Raff. Then go back to the Game Manual and play both "Devon" and "Task Force Raff". Whilst closely following the advice given in there. It will save you a lot of frustration.
  17. I'm getting confused. There isn't a school in the first training mission in Battle for Normandy.
  18. They are probably running away because they are getting shot at on a point on the map where there is no cover, and they've got no supporting fire from their mates.
