  1. Ah, found it: Search in Google for "blast radius 16 inch shell" and you'll find many references. I did only a very quick scan and it seems the lethal radius is about 150 to 200m. Note, the shells were usually not designed for a "blast radius", but for penetration power.
  2. I strongly doubt the 1000m radius. 2000m in diameter is a pretty huge area. Sounds more like tactical nukes. Considering that the battleships could easily take multiple hits (I know, for the Hood one was enough. But that's a different story), the 1000m radius is just not plausible.
  3. Boah, that's heavy propaganda stuff. Unbearable. Did you note, that it repeats after 14min? Probably they counted eaczh destroyed tank twice. ;-)
  4. These battles look a little weird, but on British manufacturers homepage I once found a proper rules set for 1/6 scale miniature battle. Considering the price of the models (I think it was something like 5'000 Pound for a 1/6 Sherman), it sounds like those people have to be pretty serious about their hobby.
  5. Ooops. strange alternate history, I guess. Anyway, if a little consolation is needed, watch this one about "Le marche de Empereur": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0w9IUPBs9Y
  6. In case anybody is interested: The official Waterloo 2015 re-enactment DVD is out. Run time 2 hours, including a DVD with the opening show "The Inferno" and a "making of".
  7. Eh, do you need to activate after each install? Recently I did a full CMBN install from scratch and activated only after V3.0 was installed. Worked perfectly.
  8. I am currently not at home, but if you want to wait until after 3rd January, we can give it a try. An RT PBEM would be nice, I am currently too CMBN focussed, anyway.
  9. Gents, I just stumbled across this interesting photo project: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/history/world-war-one/11006139/Inventories-of-war-soldiers-kit-from-1066-to-2014.html Nice idea, to illustrate 1000 years of developement in 13 photos.
  10. What do you think? In my almost 40 Star Wars years, I spent a fortune on Star Wars merchandise. My latest personal hype was Star Wars: X-Wing. Excellent table top game.
  11. Well, then apply as a beta tester and tell us how the game is. ? Don't know if you noted, but Matrix Games has loads of those traditional games in store.
  12. Hm, Matrix Games new "Tigers on the hunt" might be exactly what you are looking for. Looks like a good, old fashioned, micro tactical board game brought to the computer. They just now released it for Beta testing, so it should be available soon.
  13. Well hearing the (questionable or better not very politically correct) music collection and reading the reading the properly spelled slides, it must come from a German CM friend.
  14. In the first video, I found it a little difficult to read the text and watch the video at the same time. Same effect as with sub-titles on TV, One always fears to miss something. For me a slide, explaining what I am going to see, and then the video clip as illustration would probably work better. I, too, liked the stats in the second video, but the "stat slides" made the video very "slow". To say it a little provocatively: An Excell table would have been sufficient for the content. Perhaps, you can shorten the time for each slide a little. One other thought: Do you know the videos, which Jeffery Paulding made for the Armchair General back in 2012? What you intend to do seems to be quite similar to what he did, probably you are a little more on the detailed side.
  15. Hey, that's looking good. And you seem to be a busy lot. Thanks for sharing your works!
  16. Hm, no, quite a while ago, BFC was talking about Huertgenwald, too And,eh, the Huertgenwald is south-east of Aachen.
  17. One can't be too early: Please include the "Battle of Paderborn" and the fighting in the Harz mountains in the next module. THAT would be a nice present for my retirement. In 10 years time. ?
  18. As it is, it's just a wav-file. It has about the right length for the intro and splash music or for the results screen. To use it in-game you again would have to re-name it according to the file you want to replace. And then you will probably have to cut it to the right size. 1.50min or what ever it is, is probably too long for a sound effect. Principally, each mod file replaces one original file. So you could use it for anything you want. But to bring into shape is "real modders" work. I am not up to that.
  19. Nope, to date I always bought from amazon.de, though all books in English "original" version. A simple and pragmatic idea: Get the App, does not cost anything, and buy any cheap book from Amazon.com. Well, preferably one you would like to read. Then you'll see.
  20. Not much to add, what has not already been said. So, get well soon, Phil! And take the "restart" easy.
  21. I am doing a lot of Kindle reading on my iPhone since a while, but only the casual novel. Like Simon Scarrows Rome-series or Bernard Cornwell's Uthred-series. Perfect for travelling or reading in the morning train. But honestly: I don't know, if I would like to read a "serious" book this way.
  22. Hi Ross I just played the new version of your scenario. Much better now! And nicer. With the new time limit, it is really a race. I still won with 11 minutes on the clock, but I guess it helps somewhat, to know where you are going. In the end I failed for losses, but that's because I became a little too "gung-go" and went chasing survivors.
  23. Just remebered another one, which meets the original request perfecty: Matrix Games' "Lock 'n Load: Heroes of Stralingrad". The computer version, dated 2014 so not too old, of a board game. Looks pretty good and was quite successful as board game. Unfortunately I never played it, because I got hooked to GMT's "Combat Commander" series at that time.
  24. And I say: KATZENJAMMER Their "Live in Hamburg" concert is simply AMAZING. And the BD mind blasting...
