  1. That is how it should have read: honi soit qui mal y pense. No more posts from the iPhone!
  2. Once I read a Story about Russians visiting Germany in the pre-war "Co-Operation Agreement" Time. The Germans showed them the Pz III and IV Production and the Russians left infuriated, accusing the Germans to hide their Heavy Tanks. Don't know, if it is True (perhaps John Kettler can confirm). But it illustrates nicely how obsolete the German Tanks were already then. It was battlefield tactics, which made the difference.

  4. Does anybody know, when BFC will release the V1.10 patch for the stand-alone CMFI? The V1.10 demo is out since a while.
  5. Gents I am certainly not a scenario designer, but unpacking the latest module of GMTs "Combat Commander" series, a question jumped at me: Did anybody consider to use board game scenarios as a basis to start yet? I am thinking of games like Combat Commander, Up Front, Tank Commander, AHs Panzer Blitz, etc. There are (or were) dozens of games around, with virtually hundreds of scenarios. Obviously there would still be a lot of design and building work to do, but they should be good for a jump start anyway. Providing ideas for playable historic situations, complete with maps, OOBs and special rules.
  6. And finally I found the time to convert and upload some songs, including Lili Marleen, D-Day Dodgers, Erika, It's a long way to Tipperary and some others. Due to the file size they are at Green As Jade's place: http://cmmods.greenasjade.net/mods/4950/details
  7. It took a while -I wish I had as much as others...- But now: It works. The new "force-specific backgrounds" and "D-Day Dodgers" as music splash. Perefect combination. Thanks for the hint! I guess I'll convert some of the other songs and upload them to the repository. And: Eh, thanks. Whatever "re-right-sig" means...
  8. "The skirts were armor plate, not mild steel. U.S. period intel says so explicitly. Had it not been armor plate the tungsten cored 14.5mm projectile would've simply sailed through." What do you mean with "armor plate"? Something like nowadays Hardox? Unfotunately I have never seen a material spec, but looking at the desperate German suplly situation, I strongly doubt the they would have wasted an ounce of "special materials" on minor things like skirts. To my understanding those things were to protect against ATRs, fend of simple Infantry AT weapons (like hand grenades, satchel charges etc.) and to bring HE shells to an early explosion. One finds sufficient photos, which show how AP rounds just pierced nice holes into skirts. In fact late in the war, instead of steel plates, even skirts from mesh wire, similar to modern cage armour, were used.
  9. I have lot's of more suitable contemporary music for the intro, like D-Day Dodgers, Its' a long way to Tipperary, Lili Marleen, etc from the good old CMx1times. Can somebody tell me how to exchange the intro music file for CMFI/GL? I tried to replace the "music" file with the mod tool and I tried to simply copy a new "music.wave" into the Z folder. Both to no effect.
