  1. You need to add - for only one small set of units while the rest of the battle field goes unattended. Ooops. Except for the Sherman making the smoke screen - that does not require RT micro management control. You can set that up in WEGO fairly straight forwardly. ?? or they could just decide again that they don't want to increase the micromanagement that players need to do and happily play WEGO. That would be nice.
  2. Regarding elevation: I am totally on board with how @Macisle has done it here. Personally I just don't get a realistic looking environment on my own. I always use a Google earth based overlay map for elevation to get the hills right. Then when placing buildings I make sure I tweak the elevations to avoid goofy looking stuff. In this regard I agree with @Combatintman - the exact elevation is not worth having the back door blocked because of the way the terrain flows. I use these instructions to create said elevation maps:
  3. While sometimes you can get CM to work on those built in Intel chip sets they do not lead to a happy CM experience. One thing you could do is check for updated drivers for that graphics chip and see if that helps.
  4. LOL I would much rather see ray tracing graphics. To me that is a far higher priority. And just to be clear I actually consider the need for ray tracing graphics to be a really low priority
  5. I'll take it somewhat serious then. Given that CM runs on machines with cards designed in the mid 2000, that is approx ten year old cards. If they keep to that kind of backwards compatibility then support or these new cards rather amazing capabilities should be something that can be added to the engine in 2028 or so. Possibly later just so we don't have CM6 cutting out a bunch of us old farts that are still running machines that we upgraded in 2017.
  6. Why don't you Google it yourself and see? Good lord, it's not hard at all. True very easy - here is a small video demo http://bfy.tw/JXvH
  7. Which I think is a really cool tradition. Cool I had no idea - looked it up. Thanks And the town of Ajax was so named in part due to the ship's participation in that battle. Or so Wikipedia says.
  8. Not intentionally - by me anyway It was a probe but I agree that the red setup zone was very small but... Nope, no location on the farm had eyes into Bil's setup zone. They were able to see Bil's side of the start hill and the further ridge line so they did / could see any movement onto the high ground. The guys I pushed up onto the south ridge did get eyes on the setup zone but they had to drive / crawl there. Yep, but again they did have to drive there. Admittedly due to the setup zones my forces could easily get there before Bils so perhaps I'm just splitting hairs. This has merit to watch out for. But force selection was likely an issue as well. We picked a probe because that, usually, leads to the most balanced attack defend game. I personally find that to be true in the other titles. I am also personally not willing to declare it not true in CMSF2 just because of one game.
  9. It is highly likely that the inspection authority knows if any changes / repairs / or upgrades were made recently - which would increase the chance that all the planes could be affected. Otherwise just fairly normal inspections would have been enough to clear the other planes to fly. From my totally non expert view point
  10. Joy /s Glad the install went smoothly and I suspect that support will be able to get you sorted out. Good luck. No throwing computers out windows - you never know if an innocent person or animal might be on the ground under the window
  11. I think you would have to add the mod tag to each battle in the campaign and then compile the campaign. So, if you are creating a new campaign it should be fairly straight forward. If you are trying to tag and existing campaign I do not think you can.
  12. First of all - very cool project. I am curious about why you used buildings to make a church like structure in this instance instead of one of the in game churches with perhaps an additional building. Please note this is not a criticism - it is a question. I am curious how you made the choice.
  13. Cool idea. Awesome. This might be a context where pulling back quickly is a better way to operate.
  14. Sounds good - I am not sure if I have time for a public write up but any time I am willing to add a game for you @Bil Hardenberger I am willing to take blue in this vs @Bil Hardenberger but to be honest I would rather play a different scenario instead. Playing scenarios blind is way more fun - IMHO.
  15. I have not personally tried the specific case were both players are trying to use forces their opponent has not licensed. Given that the new game system includes all the content and you have access to what you have licensed the way it works is if I have licensed everything I can include those forces in a game and play them against you, who has not. However a Quick battle where I do not have a license for Nato forces but I do have the British module can I actually start a game British vs German. That is an interesting question. For a scenario it would definatly not work since I could not start it because I don't have the required Nato forces and you could not start it because you do not have the required British forces module. Seems like this both players missing content is not likely to work. This rarely comes up since most heavy PBEM players have all the content.
  16. Ah wow. That post seemed totally out of the blue to me until I looked at Erwin's post. Just in case anyone thinks differently I was not trying to add double entendre to my post. I was just agreeing that forces from the nation of Brazil being included in CMFI will likely be unique or one of only a few games that include them.
  17. LOL, I have a feeling that @Bil Hardenberger , playing as red, could beat me in that scenario as well as the other way around.
  18. Yeah, I am not sure if this is easy to happen either. A player definitely will be able to place teams on those balconies not sure about the AI. BTW not saying this is a bad solution just pointing out a gotcha issue.
  19. It is a nice urban fight but I don't think it is well balanced for H2H play. minor spoilers: I only played it once but my impressions was that while Blue can make headway early once Red reinforcements start showing up things go poorly for Blue. While the AI plans can be structured so that Blue only encounters some of the enemy human players do a better job coordinating forces.
  20. Just watch for guys getting automatically placed or players placing men on those balconies. Because then they become Hotel California balconies.
  21. I have a feeling that was one of the things that appealed for adding them.
