This is correct. To be a bit bland here, Battlefront was lazy.
ATGMs rarely can be fired on the move, so what Battlefront did, to check if a vehicle is on the move or not, is to check if the vehicle still has waypoints available. And if it does, then the vehicle counts as on the move, and it will not fire it's ATGMs.

@Brille describes the work around perfectly, this is how I would do it as well. You can get berm drill with an ATGM vehicle, if the shooting cycle is at the end of the turn, and you just reverse at the beginning of the next turn.

Kind of, I'm the Community Manager.
And I like to play Combat Mission in my free time. Realistic games are my favorite.

Tow/atgm vehicles are a difficult topic in Combat Mission if you want to shoot & scoot.
In CM as long as you have a move order set, the Atgm will be deactivated. You can see it in the status panel of the vehicle too. The TOW launcher will be greyed out as long as you have some sort of movement order applied. Regardless if the unit is on Pause, it will not fire the atgm. Secondary/additional weapons will work though, if the vehicle has any (e.g. M2 Bradley).
Realistically you can't fire most if not all tube launched Atgm on the move, so that's the way the game tries to portray this handicap, though it does it not perfectly.
A work around would be that you give your vehicle a, for example, 30sec pause at the start of the turn, behind some cover and let it move to it's firing position. You should time it so that the crew has at least 10 seconds (or more) of spotting time in their new position at the end of the turn.
In the next turn you can then decide if you want to move back/further or let the vehicle engage a spotted target.
Usually the tac ai decides to back of and pop smoke (when available) on its own if they fired all their tubes and a threat is still present.
Though that counts only for spotted threats of course.

The only vehicles that can do a shoot and scoot with atgm are the ones that are able to barrel launch them, I believe. Bmp 3, T72, M60 A2 (Starship), to name a few.

Great game. Although I got stuck at the monastery lol. Planning for years to revisit/restart but time.

Dr.Fusselpulli reacted to WimO in Flavor Object Random Change
Adding to this thread 4 years later.
I created a large master map with many flavour objects.
For scenarios based on that master map I created a series of smaller maps by cutting down the master map.
Result - random misplacement of some but not all flavour objects and/or swapping of some but not all flavour objects. It did not happen with every map and this might be related to which edges were trimmed off and by how much. I could run a test but don't feel like it because the problem was resolved by redoing the flavour objects on the smaller maps.
A word of advice to map makers: If you are making a master map that you plan to cut down later, then do not place any flavour objects on the master map.

That mistake has been corrected by now. The timeframe of CMCW doesn't move forward, but backwards into the 70s.

@Bil Hardenberger the BAOR is highly requested, it's not per se wrong to do them first. Especially, if you have experts on the team to take care of them.
I'll buy it, no question, I want to see the Brits too.
It's just that it feels a bit like Combat Mission Fortress Italy without the Italians.

Yes, Panzerfaust 44 is the same as Panzerfaust Lanze, just a different name.
But as far as I know, they had the Carl Gustav at the same time. Maybe as "Panzerfaust 84"?

    @Halmbarte
Yeah, that might be confusing. The Wehrmacht used those numbers to describe dates.
But in the Bundeswehr, at least for the handheld Anti-Tank weapons, it's mm. Until the Panzerfaust-3 came and it seems to be a succession number?

A HQ unit above Battalion level that can be placed on the map. This would not work with the engine yet, but a unit that is not part of one of the map formations, but would become the HQ of all placed formations to establish C2 contact.
Maybe a Regimental HQ and a Brigade HQ unit with a signaler section.

For one fix I would wish, the inverted shadows in the countryside. Hills and slopes have their shadows on the sunny side, while the sides hidden by the sun are light up. It's not noticeable on missions during the day or night, but in the evening or morning, it looks weird.

I was expecting German forces, as the war is mainly fought in German lands and I think they are a must have, but I have to admit, I also want to see the Brits in the game, and getting the Canadians as well is a great bonus. Looking forward to it, many were requesting it.

Oh, I want to point out a bug with the lighting. The shadows within the countryside is inversed. Hills and mountains are light up on their shadowy sides in the morning and evening, while the sides facing the sun are dark.

    Too late 😄
But seriously. The simple fact is that the guys who are making this happen are mainly Americans, Brits and Canadians (I think) and of course they chose their own countries first. I'd do the same. How many Germans, Dutch or Danes are involved in the development of CM? Not many, I bet.
Easter egg or not, the other NATO countries will follow sooner or later. For the moment that's enough for me. Had to swallow my disappointment (a glass of good red wine helped a lot), I must admit that, but beggars can't be chosers. BF has it's own way of doing things, because they are individuals with their own preference and business instinct. Not always what I like to see (missing Ghurkas and Maroccans in CMFI is a good example), but there it is.
For those magnificent modders at this forum a winter mod for CW won't be that difficult. i hope they will be prepared to make it, if not, I also respect that.
It won't be long before the Dutch ground forces are integrated into the Bundeswehr (it's already happening) so that's one worry less for the future. 😉
Btw @Lethaface, I've ordered my new CM tailor made PC. Thanks again for all your advice!

We wanted to concentrate on the British Army of the Rhine and Canadians first, mainly for selfish reasons and also because we have a couple people on the team who are experts on the British Army so it was the obvious choice for us.
We do have plans for the German Army too, but that will unfortunately have to wait.

I hope we see German forces before we see BOAR. Don't get me wrong, I want to see the BOAR as well, but a war within Germany should include German forces, especially as both German armies were quite substantial during that time.
And you are very wrong about the assets for German forces. It is not just "add the leopard".
As jeeps you would have the DKW Munga for the late 70s, and the Iltis for the 80s.
As trucks you would have Unimog 404 for the late 70s and the 435 for the 80s.
Recon would be done by the Luchs.
Until 1983 the Bundeswehr used the Kanonenjagdpanzer, the spiritual successor of the StuG.
As the Antitank vehicle you would have the Jaguar 1.
And don't forget the beloved Gepard and the Roland Kette.

Of course, Germany used American assets as well, at the time the M48 in a Germanized version as well as the M113 as a Germanized version.
Germany also used the M109 Paladin in it's own version and later get's the MLRS (Called MARS in Germany).
But those are artillery assets without 3D model.
Germany would also have the LARS rocket artillery system, which is something comparable to the GRAD system.

    True...
But one thing that Battlefront could do is to improve the map editor...or the entire scenario editor for that matter.
That is something the community can't do...

    I hear you!
Thing is, in the module I want both German sides AND the British. I would pay 50 bucks for that since CW has quickly become my favourite CM game but it just lacks variety and content. So the main reason why I hope for a release of all three factions at the same time is the mere fact that I don't want to wait another 2 years after the first module came out (which already might be 2 years away) just to see the British forces.
And I want more varied maps. Germany even in the central region does not consist only of little villages and green hills. (Scenarios like Rumpenheim Rumpus are notable exceptions.) Of course there are limits but heck, even the maps in Shock Force 2 are more varied than the maps in Cold War. I think the best way to combat the lack of IRL variety is to give us more seasons. Snow, trees without foliage etc.

Absolutely agree. But both the Germans and the British should be in. It would be ridiculous to keep one of those two out. The rest matters less, although I still hope the Dutch will be there.
