  1. I have had these sitting around for ages, and with the release of GL I thought I'd better finish them off. Still a slew of work to do. V.
  2. @LukeFF: I believe that part of the texture is to resemble elasticated cuffs. @Steppenwulf: I'm pretty sure that 'smod_american_m41_uniform.bmp' is classed as '1' and then numbers continue as normal: 'smod_american_m41_uniform 2.bmp', 'smod_american_m41_uniform 3.bmp' etc.
  3. Yes indeedy. As can my skies standalone mod. I think they are tweaked versions which I would consider better. They are the latest versions at least. Try them out and decide for yourself. It's all a matter of taste really. There's also a tracer mod which gets rid of the laser beams.
  4. I believe I put them in the shock force repository. But if i didn't then go the Beyond Normandy mod repository and download those. They work just the same and in fact i think they are updated. V
  5. I believe that the files you want to change are the Waffenss-ankleboot ones... NOT the cammo ones.
  6. There is a quick flash and then dust.
  7. You bet would be to unpack them and then drop the sounds you like into a separate folder to repack. It's all a matter of taste. My sounds are all from live fire videos of the actual weapons but the game engine has a way of messing with the sounds in-game which is why there still isn't a bang on MG42 sound yet even though nearly all of them sound like one when played out of game.
  8. Well my setup is an overclocked quad 9950 to 3.2, an ATI 5770 1gb, with 4GB ram. So by no means a super computer. I haven't come up against a map I can't run at max using all my mods (and a few more).
  9. Just turned 40. When's this life everybody keeps talking about supposed to begin? Maybe I should check the mail.
  10. If you mean because you removed them to install the patch... then as soon as you have applied the patch. There is nothing in those mods that conflicts with the new patch.
  11. I believe that the gear aren't part of the soldier model but is a bunch of separate models that are put in a number of differing places on the soldiers in reference to the type of unit it is. So a gunner may have the Zeltbahn in position A, a rifleman A, B, or C, NCO: C or D etc. So where the gear goes on which unit can't be changed I'm afraid (so we'll have to wait for the MP40 pouches to show up as well).
  12. UK PC Gamer give it 80/100. Pretty good score for a magazine with such 'wide' appeal.
  13. Pah, don't be bowed by the constraints of dictionarism, if we English worried about sticking to convention we'd all still be talking some sort of celtic drivel. Whumpf: To 'big something up'; to make larger or more impressive; to make something more 'whumpfy'. 'That afro is a mighty fine mane but it needs whumpfing up.' 'Yeah he may look pretty weedy now, but once he's whumpfed up on viagra he'll strike fear into the stoutest heart.'
  14. Pretty sure. Scipio's mod is thinner as it uses Crysis' flames. Mine started off using Crysis' flames but I found the flames too thin so whumpfed them up to be as wide as the texture allowed.
  15. Yes. One tracer fits all I'm afraid.
  16. Vile?! Lol. Well there's a Freudian slip if ever there was one
  17. £17.90 ransom note delivered. At least it's here now. Edit: And mighty fine it is too!
  18. It seems the ones shipped to the UK on the 18th are all MIA. Perhaps customs are playing all the games from beginning to end just to make sure there's nothing untoward in them.
  19. Excellent job Mord. Sounds brilliant in-game!
  20. Yes. Only one mod at a time. The gridded terrain works by drawing ONTO the terrain tiles. Therefore it's one or the other I'm afraid. @Jaws: The status? It's done and uploaded at GAJ's site. Link in the first post.
  21. The texture sizes are the same as the default and the unpacked size of the folder is less than 1mb difference so I don't think it's caused by the mod. I do wonder however if having lots of separate mods could slow it down. Does anybody know how the game reads the files? If there any benefit to having one BIG brz file over a dozen little ones. I have a single mod file of a gig and a half
  22. Mine was shipped on the 18th May as well. Haven't got mine either yet. I'm in Suffolk. Probably the whole batch are sitting around n a customs yard. Yay. Not overly worried. It'll turn up. With a demand for monies no doubt.
  23. Glad you like it Spindry. Like I have said before: there's nothing wrong with the 'vanilla' textures that come with the game, it's just that for my tastes a little bit of colour correction adds to the drama of it. I image that's why Spielberg did what he did for Ryan (and subsequently Band of Brothers): it immediately invoked a feeling of both age and grittiness, particularly apt for WW2 where the films that survived of the war are themselves faded and gritty.
