  1. Updated the 82nd airborne on the Repository to v2. V2 corrects the arm patches (ta NormalDude), and I took the opportunity to add the 101st in. Use either/or. The optional scrim helmet is for both. Or neither.
  2. I suppose the answer to that depends on who you ask. I have seen photos of guys in the same unit wearing a mix of uniforms from the last few years of the war. When on the line for a time clothes got cruddy, bloody and ripped. The supply lines were getting a pounding from the airforce so fresh uniforms were probably a little way down the list of needs. 'Not unheard of' is the best answer I suppose. Or 'sometimes'.
  3. There is one of those available. Have a look on the repository. All this mod does is take a little of the brightness out of the ground textures.
  4. Options. It's all about options.
  5. It's also very much down to the broad shouldered good people who made the game, who go out of their way to make the game so moddable. It's a well balanced team indeed that sweat blood and tears over a game for years and then let you change half of it right out of the box. I have to say though that they did a fantastic job on this title (and indeed their others). I have never enjoyed losing at a game so much. And I do lose. Oh yes. Lots. So thanks guys!
  6. They are up. Called: Veins_2ndRangers_CMBN_v1 (just above the 82nd Airborne) & Veins_Germans_CMBN_v1
  7. That's what I have done in the post above yours. Swapped the officers hat for the panzer officers hat.
  8. Damn you LongLeftFlank! I was completely at peace with the Officer's hat, but NOW it rubs like sand in my eyes. So...
  9. Agreed. Nothing at all wrong with the colours of the original. It's all just a matter of taste. I'm playing LA Noire atm and they have an option in game to play it in black and white!
  10. Repository inspector seems to have the weekend off. Q & A: The chap with the iron cross is the company commander I believe. The models can't be changed so the hats are the default size (yes a tad small but never mind), so no M43 caps. The Ranger mod makes all the GIs into Rangers. It's really for Seabee's Point du in der Hoc map (I MAY have misspelled that). I have no plans to do any other unit mods. These are just the ones I use so I thought I'd put them up. Although I may release a 'grey' crew unit in faded splinter that I came across in a photo once somewhere:
  11. I'll stick it on the repository tomorrow.
  12. 82nd Airborne skins now uploaded to repository. Waiting clearence. Scrim helmet is an optional addon in the zip.
  13. Yeah, I know what you mean. The lighting really seems to affect the colours (in both good and bad ways). You should do more.
  14. Nice job! Looking forward to release!
  15. I've done a desaturation mod: Before - After I did a folder batch action using -15 saturation. Just takes the edge off. Haven't uploaded it because it's huge and I thought it is so subtle that people wouldn't be bothered.
  16. I changed some of the faces to give them beards and some dirt here and there (although I think it all ended up UNDER the helmet). I toned down the saturation a little. I added some brown ankle boots and some short jack boots. I changed some of their trousers and added some mud specks (not too much), gave them muddy boots. Erm... and some other stuff. Oh, I changed some helmet textures, added a splinter camo tunic. Gave the officer an iron cross and some gloves... Why? Because I could and I didn't like the german's trousers. Too many folds in the thighs. They aren't 'better' than the originals and they aren't supposed to be. Some people asked about the camo on the germans in a screenshot of mine so I thought I'd post them up. Give a little something back to the community.
  17. Germs... Yanks... Uploaded to Repository. NB: as there are a few more uniforms added you MAY experience a tiny performance hit if you can't run the game at 'better' textures or above. You also may not. I don't know really. Just warning you.
  18. I haven't had a single CTD.
  19. It all depends what they do. Sound mods could affect performance if they are too large, but I THINK the game engine prevents this anyway. Texture files (uniforms, terrain mods etc) could also affect performance if they are made at a larger size than the original. I try to keep my mods to the same size as the originals so they shouldn't have any performance hit.
