  1. It's my own sound mod. I released a sound mod waaaaaaay back when CMBN had just come out, but have changed most of them since then.

  3. I'm pretty sure I have already stated I have used bits of EZs mod (although those bits are getting less with every iteration). However: I have used bits of EZs mod on some on some of my Germans. There you go. I get the feeling that some people like to post just for something to say. No-one is blowing anything out of proportion except you guys who are harping on about it. There is NO escalation. To avoid the chance that someone might not want their work uploaded without credit (as I have explained, at length - if I do it for one I have to do it for all), I will release privately by dropbox. To clarify one last time. EZ asked a fair and reasonable question. I think a private email would have been better but no worries. I answered. I have refrained from public posting of mods. I have NOT removed any mods. EZ and I may have differing opinions on what mods are and what they are for but that doesn't detract form the fact that he is an excellent, hard working modder who is free to do as he pleases with them. And I am free to do as I please with mine. To release them as I am now removes ANY chance that someone may take umbrage at my usage of their mods. I repeat: there is NO escalation or blowing out of proportion by me. I wasn't going to release the mods originally for this very reason (some of the work was years old). So I have found a BETTER way for those who want my work to still get it. Perhaps English isn't your first language so you're getting a bit turned around. The situation irritates me because I saw it coming. EZ only irritated me a TEENY bit by publicly calling me rude and asking me to defend myself to the forum at large when a PM would have been more appropriate. Now just let it drop. If EZ wants me to remove the CMMOD I will. Other than that I really don't think there's any more to say about it. It's really boring the crap out of me, and I'd image almost everyone else. If you guys want some drama go and watch a soap or something. Edit: Actually I've just removed the mod from CMMODS. It's out of date anyway. That closes this topic for good.
  4. Nope. As far as I am concerned I am now sharing my personal mods with friends. I have absolutely no plans to write a whole readme novel that no-one will look at that says things like: 'Used the cord tie from EZ's 3rd smock on my 2nd smock, used the base of EZ's 4th smock but changed creases and saturation and added weathering on my 4th smock...' and do this for every possible usage of other's work. Do I then credit every photographer's work I have used in this way, every website? After all it would be rude not to... As I have said: if EZ asks me to remove the V2 germans from CMMODS I will (it's redundant now anyway). Considering mods are by definition the modified work of others i.e. the wonderful Battlefront team's textures, uv mapping etc., I am finding this puritanical attitude quite churlish.
  5. No real necessity. Question asked. Question answered. Any future problems circumvented. Job done.
  6. UPDATE Okey dokey. Someone asked if they could have my latest germs for RT but I had to empty my pms. So if you send me a pm again I have some links for you: Packs 1. Updated germans for RT and CMBN - wholesale tweaks and updates. 2. Updated soviets - mostly mixing in more greenish browns to the infantry. 3. SS Totenkopf renamed for CMBN - as many of you were intending on doing it yourself. 4. Tagged Totenkopf for scenario makers - you can use them in any CM game. These are the same as the first post. If you want any of them pm me with which link numbers you want e.g. 1, 3. I'd advise you to look through the files before you delete the old ones as you may want to mix and match. E.g. the faces are more saturated now, the smocks more aged and faded, some of the helmets may have been dropped/replaced (like the tan & water field made helmet was swapped out for another splinter).

  8. These are [tagged] ss totenkopf 3rd division skins. There are: infantry smocks helmet boots ponchos crew armed inf armed engineers (not sure if these will work as I think they were tagged already) Scenario use Put the 'tot inf.txt' file into your 'documents/battlefront/red thunder/game files' directory. In the scenario editor open 'import mod tags' and select the 'tot inf' file. CMBN use Should you want to use these skins in CMBN you will need to rename ALL files by removing the [tot-inf] tag and adding in '_ss' after the word 'german in the file name'. Download If you want them just send me an empty PM with 'Tot-inf' as the subject and I'll get back to you with the dropbox link. Don't be shy, I work from home so am around a lot. Quick pics
  9. No conclusion jumped to. I have not removed them and won't unless EZ wants them removed. EZ asked a reasonable question. The only slightly irritating bit was the 'other people on the forum' bit. As if I needed to defend myself to the forum at large. I will still release things if people want them but by dropbox to avoid this sort of thing (which is why they weren't released to start with). As to what's in V2? Various normal map corrections and a few helmet changes I think. Can't remember. I only called it V2 because I couldn't update the original. It's really just a slightly better version1 (although I have pretty much changed things again since V2).
  10. : If I post a [Released] thread I'll send out a dropbox link via pm returns. I just won't upload them to a public domain.
  11. Very valid question. The answer is that I had absolutely no intention to release the germans as mixed in with my hundreds of hours of work there are bits and bobs of work in there from possibly every single modder, even if some have been modded so heavily that there isn't much of the original left. However someone saw a screenshot and asked me to release them. As my other mods have on occasion been reused sans permission (and I don't mind as long as no-one claims they created those parts), I thought it easier to upload the skins to somewhere public rather than have hundreds of people email me and me send them out singulary. I do not upload any mod I have done for kudos, back-slappage or any other form of grand-standing, ego-stroking, or compliment gathering. I upload them because people may want to use them and may enjoy using them as I enjoy using (and absorbing) other modder's creations. As far as I am concerned this is an open community and as long as no-one claims to have created my work themselves they are free to do whatever they want with it. That's what I do and what I hope everyone does. I could have sought permission from every modder who may have had this or that in my uploads but to be honest I had no knowledge of who did what (I checked my downloads folder but had already emptied it), or how much I had subsequently modded that work. I could have scoured the repository and cmmods and downloaded all the uniform mods to compare and contrast but really... why bother. I'd rather not release them. It makes no difference to me. If you would rather I remove them from CMMODS just say the word. The upload is for others not me. As to other mods: if I like them and feel like changing and absorbing them into my own skins I will most certainly do it. Isn't that why we mod? For others to take it and make it what THEY want it to be? Use it how it befits them? I would have no intention of uploading them however. BUT, if someone saw them in a screenshot and asked me for them, I would give it to them. And just like these germans I would say 'some bits aren't mine'. Perhaps you don't feel you get the recognition you should with your mods? That's a shame. But I mod for myself and share with others if asked. I don't want recognition, I just want people to enjoy a great game. There. I have explained to you and 'the other people on the forum'. Judge me as you see fit. Release your mods. Set them free. There are a lot of people who love them just the way you make them. Don't punish them because you feel I have robbed you in some way. I promise I won't upload any more mods
  12. Thing is that I have 7 sets of german uniforms in CMFI: Tropical Heer Normal Heer Snow Heer (greatcoats) Tropical Lutwaffe Normal Lutwaffe Fallschirmjäger Snow Fallschirmjäger Now that I have updated the germans for RT I will need to retrofit bits of them into my CMFI troops. This will take a commitment and a half. The V3 update will be the impetus I need to revisit them all.
  13. I have a whole set of modded germans for CMFI from tropical to snow and americans for CMBN and CMFI. I have no plans to release these as there may be bits and bobs comped from other mods... but I may release them when v3 of CMBN and CMFI upgrade comes out if people want them. That makes sense. EZ has some excellent mods. edit: There is an updated V2 version of the RT Germans up at CMMODS. I have had to delete the previous one as I couldn't update it. 14. Kinda... I was zooming in all over the place to check my SS skins, but then would see a cool shot and would try to get the best angle on it.
  15. Can't speak for the other mods you use but my Soviet mod won't have any impact at all on memory or performance as the textures are the same size as the original. The german mod uses more uniform variations for helmets and uniforms, 5 or 6 more probably. I don't notice any impact but if you have an ancient machine you might but I doubt it. I don't use higher resolution textures as a rule.
  16. LOVE the Jagdpanzers! Perfect amount of weathering for me.
  17. Was asked to release so here they are. German inf tank crew armed inf gear helmets smocks Note: there are a few smocks based on someone else's excellent smock mod but as I hadn't planned to release these I can't remember whose they were. Pics are a bit sucky... DOWNLOAD: http://s3.amazonaws.com/cmmods-zips.greenasjade.net/CMRT/Veins_RT_Germans.brz
  18. I have already modded them. Someone has asked me to release them so I will later today.
  19. Erm... don't know. Don't think i changed them but may have done accidently. You can always swap them with the infantry officer trousers.
  20. I'll look at what I've got. I think I have modded versions of Heer inf, Armed-Inf, Tank crew, Assault-gunners, and Smocks.
