  1. I tried about 5 times and I kept getting an error saying 'unspecified file'. I could try megaupload or mediafire if you can use those?

  3. It's done in a way that BF don't want done for hacker prevention reasons. Whilst I'm not overly sure why they've done it I respect their decision to do so. So unfortunately I can't let you have it. As an added annoyance for you I also have unique skins for both sets of crews and the german officer.
  4. It is quite obviously an oversight. Like I mentioned, the lods use the correct skins just not the higher poly up close and personal version. So when you can't notice them they have the US faces... if that makes you feel any better about it I'm sure there's a philosophical question in there somewhere. They'll probably fix it in a patch. It's simple enough to do (I've done it already).
  5. There IS no tweak to stop the trees swaying. That's nothing to do with the graphics but the game engine. Spare exclamation and question marks: !?!?!?!?!
  6. Create a 'Z' folder in your DATA directory. Put the BRZ file or folders (whichever the mod comes as) in there.
  7. Yeah, the US tankers use american skins in the lods but not in the main model. They use german ones.
  8. I did blur the mini grass after uploading but only by a smidge. I haven't come across the curved paved road in a rural setting yet so it may well look a little out of place. I have only seen it in built up areas. I may bring out a little 'hotfix' update in a few weeks with a few tweaked textures rather than a whole massive V3.

  10. You're welcome guys, glad you like it. My mods are really all done just to please myself but if someone else enjoys them it makes all the uploading/screenshot-taking hassle worth it.
  11. No effect on FPS because the file sizes are the same. I originally had the larger textures (grass, dirt) double sized to try to sharpen the detail close up, but there was a slight fps drop so I changed it.
  12. You are right of course. The problem is keeping it all in the same vein (ho ho ho), so that none of the textures look like they don't belong. The wheat/corn is yellower than it looks in the screenshots but deliberatley less yellow than in actuality. And Mord, I play the game, don't worry about that. My modding doesn't take up all that much time.

It could get confusing if there start to be mods of mods, and then mods of mods of mods etc. If you want to get the basic look of this mod, desaturate the stock textures to -30 in Photoshop or other image editing program.
  14. I have tried uploading it to the Repository about 4 times but it keeps saying 'Unspecified file', whatever that means. I'll try uploading it from my work Mac (as opposed to my fun PC), and see it that makes a difference. It's around 160 mb.
  15. The models in TOW, especially the infantry, was pants. The three things i DID prefer was the terrain that appeared to go on into the distance (rather than the flat board of CM), the damage showing on the vehicles and the dead bodies remaining in manned positions, and air support appearing on map. But Combat Mission is for me far more immersive in every way despite these things.

  17. It's done. but I have to finish some writing chores before I take the time to separate it from my mod soup and upload it with pictures and a dull but comprehensive readme of all the changes (yawn).
  18. It's just a different flavour of ice-cream The original colours (except the sky) are pretty accurate when you see Normandy in the summer under bright sunshine. I just prefer a little more gritty looking colours... Normandy in the summer when the sun's behind the clouds.
  19. Here's the closest I can get to what the wheat looks like in game. Note the other things in the pic may have become slightly missrepresentative due to the fiddling to get the wheat right in the screenshot.
  20. It's not QUITE that desaturated. A little yellowness has been lost in compression. I'll see if I can post one later that's closer to how it looks. It's not HUGELY different mind you. Besides, 'too desaturated' for what? If you want it the colour it actually is, then the way they made it is pretty damn close. Note: The pictures on this thread are relative. In that they are a little more desaturated due to compression than they actually are. That is why I posted the before and after shots. My mod differs that much from the original. Remember how you see the colours/brightness etc. has a lot to do with your monitor as anything else. This mod is set up for MY monitor's setting so you may or may not get the same results depending on YOUR monitor and its setup.
  21. Yeah, the vehicle saturation has been altered for my game. I won't be releasing those though as someone is bound to come out with some excellent new camo mods etc soon enough.
