Anticipating a Monty Python movie by about 30 years, no doubt -
Whats Your Grenade Tactic On Houses or Hedges?
mjkerner replied to Lanzfeld's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
So, Womble, stop one AS before the hedge, click the waypoint, set for area target (target light or target?), unclick and give Slow command? I tried a number of combos, I think including that one, but will try again tonight. Thanks! -
Whats Your Grenade Tactic On Houses or Hedges?
mjkerner replied to Lanzfeld's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
I have tried all the above tactics against a hedgerow (in a practice test for a pbem I'm in, which will unavoidably involve an assualt directly against a 'row) and still can't get the Ptruppen to use grenades. And we are talking teams with 10-15 grenades! Any particular advice regarding hedgerows that is different from buildings? For example, "One AS"...what if they are right up against a hedgerow? Do they need to be one hex away from that? (Didn't seem to make a difference either way. Of course, when they are cowering against fire from the hedgerow's occupants, I can see why, but there is a lot of smoke, and they still either sit there or fire, but no 'nades.) -
sdp already has one for the Italian theater, BS56.

At best, the patch and maybe MG ...earlier than otherwise expected going by the timeframe from CMBN to CW...at the same time. No new theatres, unless maybe a 3rd party doing Italy/N. Africa. East Front...no way. Not only does their Family/Game/Module business plan rule that out, think of all the refinements that will be implemented and refined through the Bulge project that will simply be part of the CMx2 experience by then, and will be in the initial base Game for the EF. No way they are ready for EF atm.

I like the one in the lower right, juju. What is that, number 11?

Ya know, this never bothered me before, even though it had been discussed in older threads. But after reading this thread, when I was watching the action in a game with some armor the other night (recently, I mostly haven't had armor in the games I've been playing), the rocking started to bug me! Thanks guys. -

Anyone know what module will come after CW?
mjkerner replied to Bob Willett's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
I'm with Doug/Badger Dog. CMBN + CW has cost me under $0.09/hour since May 17(15?)(18?), 2011. Nine frigg'n cents! Yup, there are bugs and yup, BFC fix things even though it takes a while, sometimes a looong while. But it's not even close to being broken. And between here and The Few Good Men Forum, I have "met" (Inter-met?) a lot a nice people and overall good sh*ts. A few nasties, but not too many. Even many of the ones who like to bitch usually admit that they are hooked. With BFC, there is one truth: They are dedicated to the game simulation of as-accurate-as-can-be WWII simulation, and they will continue to perfect it. The future is so bright for us all, we're gonna need shades! -
No, not at all. I have one in a current pbem in a campaign at FGM. You just need to experiment with where you place the second and subsequent trenches...squares, L-shaped, variations on the W...they are all possible
-
LOL, Mord, will you ever get around to playing the game? Hey, regarding the mention in the Special Note... see, it was worth it!
-
Couple of nights' work, eh Mord? Seriously, Maaahvelous, simply Maaahvelous!

The Few Good Men website has a tips/tactics type of area. It's worth checking out. Good people there, and plenty of campaigns, ladders and other pbem action, plus AI scenarios. http://www.thefewgoodmen.com/thefgmforum/forumdisplay.php?160-Combat-Mission-Battle-for-Normandy

Question pertaining German SS uniforms
mjkerner replied to Hister's topic in Combat Mission Battle for Normandy
OK, sorted and in the Dropbox. There is a Heer uniform and a WaffenSS uniform, and separate helmet and gear folders for each of them. Take the contents of the helmets and gear files and put them into the respective Heer/WfnSS files. Pop into your data/z file, and should be good to go. -
Erwin, that's basically my experience as well. The last several months I've been playing Germans exclusively, and the scout teams are usually two strong, but with larger squads I often get one 3-man team out of a kompanie's 3 platoons (don't think I ever had 4 man team, though).
