All three buildings in this image are fully accessible to pixeltruppen, as are all the peaks (there's another taller one to the right that I'm still tweaking). Islands are fun.....But it's not so fast to make them! @chuckdyke Still blurry? -

So you are saying it's OK to for Taliban to enforce a Pashtun Deobandi/Wahabi Theocracy on the Tajiks, Uzbeks, Hazaras et al. but a Tajik led democratic government would somehow be wrong? That's fekkin priceless! -
I wonder where you picked that up? You are not wrong about the cost of kits these days, I typically model in 1/72 and I can easily do over $100 US on a single 1/72 tank if I go overboard with the aftermarket extras or kit-bashing (I once accurised the classic Airfix 1/76 Sherman, IIRC I used seven different kits and half a dozen aftermarket sets).

You are absolutely right JK that is indeed A a ZPU-4.....I should have realised immediately as I'm modelling a BTR-152D in 1/35 (unusually for me) and I just bought a set of turned brass gun barrels for it. Here's a decent picture of the much more complex (liquid-cooled) barrels of the ZSU-23-4:

The fact that Massoud was a 'nobody', while crooks like Karzai & Ghani were stuffing their accounts with taxpayer money tells us a lot more about Western policies than it does about Massoud. I guess it's crooks all the way down, eh? -

And I thought the BTR-4E was bit over-armed! -
Just can't see Battlefront implementing 'Rag-Doll Physics' any time soon TBH, fun though it would be, given my predeliction for BIG explosions.
-
Same goes for M113 ACAVs in Vietnam.....TBH I'd say using 'Open Up' with infantry aboard models this well enough for game purposes. I doubt sitting on top gave much extra protection once a mine goes off (unless the fighting compartment's full of sandbags, which they often were), but at least you could find cover quickly when the shooting starts.

That wait can be almost as nerve-wracking as the actual combat. -

Made a minor tweak to 'Winter Of Discontent', purely cosmetic.....The current download link still works. -

I find myself taking way more care of the two-man sections that I send out at the start of the scuffle than I do of their squad-mates once things go all in. Small unit missions are great fun in CM, but things can end very, very fast! -

One could argue that your pixeltruppen knew there was a tank there, but in the darkness did not realise it was hostile.....Plenty of real accounts of that happening. -

That looks a lot like a dual Spike launcher on the left side of the turret of the vehicle on the video's title screen. -
Maybe soften or blur the track marks a bit more?

To be fair, there are quite a few options. SU-85M would be a particular threat on a map like this IMHO. -
Nope, timings are right and it's on a Dash Order (the best bet for getting vehicles to move reasonably smoothly in my experience). I'm aware the Dash Order has quirks, it often doesn't work if you paint a tile at the edge of the map (I think because faster units take a tile or two to slow down and stop), but this is nowhere near a map edge. I'll fix it or work around it eventually.
-
It has an AI group all of its own, the orders are painted tile by tile, with facings to reduce the risk of hitting fences & trees.....All of the orders are essentially identical and all of them work, until the fifth one, which just doesn't! There's another truck just behind it following an almost identical order set, 30 seconds behind it.....The fifth order for this AI Group/truck works, so it tries to overtake the preceeding truck, smashing through a fence and trashing its tyres in the process.

Very cool indeed.
