  1. Four views of the valley, the map itself is within spitting distance of finished.....Just one more foliage band along the river, an orchard, some fields near the big compound and some (lots) more flavour objects to go: PS - Aaaaarrrrggghh! Just spotted a mistake on the big compound.
  2. Not until Uncam is working for CM:SF2 at any rate.....Although thinking laterally one could use Uncam on the CM:SF1 campaign, transfer the decompiled scenarios, core units file and campaign script to CM:SF2, then make any changes you fancy and recompile it as a CM:SF2 campaign.
  3. Oi! Stick to Afghanistan in here! Whatever it was, it can stay where it is.....Let sleeping dogs lie & this thread be about things Afghan & current. It seems direct dialogue between the US & Taliban is underway in the UAE: https://www.longwarjournal.org/archives/2018/12/taliban-confirms-meeting-with-us-in-the-uae.php
  4. If it will give us Taliban in CM:SF2.....Bring it on!
  5. Someone needs to take one of the current (before next year's front-wing aero changes) F1 V6 turbo-hybrids to Bathurst.....This year's F1 cars are the fastest ever, it wouldn't surprise me if they could take 10 seconds off Jenson's time!
  6. If the new behaviour is anything like that in CM:SF2, I'd call the issue fixed.....Just had a bunch of not terribly experienced (but quite brave) Syrian Uncons stay firmly put (without workarounds) under the full fury of a modern(ish) US mortar barrage! Still having a few issues with doorway related stupidities, but without testing the map I can't be sure it's not down to terrain issues.
  7. An oldie, on a similar note: Here's how Jenson saw it: Vroom!
  8. I'm in again.....Loved the original, gonna try to dodge the RPGs better this time!
  9. @George MC's scenarios often remind me of a puzzle box, with a key or series of keys to be found, each unlocking a layer of the scenario.
  10. Cool mod @Mord.....I'd definitely like to use this mod and more to the point write scenarios with its use in mind. To which end, could you (when you have a moment spare) post a formal list of what's on each 'side' and any tags used/usable please? I'm a massive n00b when it comes to modding CM2 (yet my CM1 mod collection was monstrous).
  11. I just did and it is indeed a brilliant scenario played as Red, horrendously bloody, but eminently winnable.....Let's put it this way, the Abrams survived! It's also definitely one for novice scenario designers to study in the editor for tips on how to best use some of the new Engine 4 AI Orders.
  12. One small word of warning about simply extending scenario duration.....Many scenario designers (myself included) use a 'Morale Ballast' reinforcement to prevent AI units surrendering too soon. This reinforcement is set to arrive after the battle, typically at the three hour mark, so by extending the battle you might give yourself a nasty surprise (depending on how the designer dumped the ballast units and what they are). FWIW
  13. Hearts & Minds, Ashraf Ghani style: https://www.rferl.org/a/video-appears-to-catch-afghan-president-s-bodyguards-roughing-up-civilian/29656630.html
  14. Interesting article on the current situation in Afghanistan's Zabul province: https://www.rferl.org/a/the-forgotten-afghan-province-that-became-taliban-country/29659327.html
  15. When I saw the title of this article, I expected another example of Western wishful thinking: https://www.usip.org/publications/2018/12/how-can-afghans-make-peace-and-protect-women-meet-ayesha-aziz But no, there's actually something, or rather someone, quite real behind it, Ayesha Aziz:
  16. You should probably emphasize how deadly Black Sea is.
  17. When you put people in an insane environment they can't help but do insane things, it's the only way to survive. But yeah, let's let it go, at least until we have some more facts to look at.....Either way it's just one more casualty in a very big mess.
  18. Cheers John, much appreciated.....Getting to grips with laying down the water is one of the new challenges for me.
