  1. I still think it can be done without the arty, but I kinda waited around for it to turn up.....If I'd pushed on at thet point rather than waiting the extra turns for reinforcement I reckon I could do it with time to spare but casualties would be pretty high (as they are now). Even so the arty makes sense and that beautiful city is just crying out for a good stonk!
  2. Just wondering how much the terrain in this area has changed since, say.....1979-1982?
  3. At what stage would the Soviets have needed to start feeding category two units with older gear into the line.....I've been messing with @benpark's Berlin map (nuking it basically) and I'm still trying to decide what (if anything) to do with it. A Twilight 2000 type 'Cross The Rad-Zone' scenario was one option, another was battle hardened US veterans, with radiation sickness, battling second line Soviets in T-55s & older BTRs.
  4. From testing of the excellent 'To Al-Hell & Back' campaign by @Bartimeus:
  5. It's been a bit of a marathon, but: Really enjoying this campaign.....I believe an updated version may be imminent, hope so! PS @Bartimeus A platoon of engineers or some Breach Teams would be very useful for Scenario 3.
  6. The J-10C is a very handy piece of kit, more than capable of handling an F-16V.....Which leaves the J-11s & J-16s free to have all kinds of fun. PS - Almost all the aircraft Taiwan is likely to face will have thrust-vectoring, which makes them tricky to kill BVR with anything but the most sophisticated missiles (AIM-120D, Meteor), which Taiwan doesn't have.
  7. Played that one from both sides now.....Total Victory for both sides too. I actually quite like the M60A2 now. PS - I found the US reinforcements hellish difficult to kill.....They caused me more casualties than the intial force!
  8. Kudos to you for a very generous offer. But I've got 'em all already. Unless you happen to have a copy of Pro lying around?
  9. It would be better to pause for ten seconds and target for fifteen.....Javelin can lock on in thirty seconds IIRC.
  10. Speak for yourself mate! TBH while I do sometimes use AI Target Plans for atmosphere (especially with helicopters in CM:A), I'm equally happy using them in an attempt to kill people.....Even if you don't get a Setup Zone you still have thirty seconds. Run Forrest!
  11. But does the AI ever re-use an off-map battery in your experience? I've messed with a lot of scenarios and I like blowing stuff up, but I've never noticed this.
  12. I didn't think the AI reused off-map batteries that were assigned to the (AI Target Plan) initial bombardment.....I've never noticed it doing so. My assumption/impression was that the ammo supply of off-map batteries set for (AI Target Plan) initial bombardments was automatically matched to the intensity of the bombardment so that they use it all. Can any of the older hands clarify?
  13. JP233 looked cool, but it was a bloody silly idea: https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/38745/how-british-tornados-used-a-special-weapon-to-ravage-saddams-airfields-in-daring-desert-storm-raids
  14. Here's the discussion of the issue in the CM:SF2 forum: It just occured to me that the CTS Core File was built with CM:SF1 and there are subtle differences in the newer game, could this somehow be a factor? I seem to recall that the reinforcement 'US Navy Seals' arrives at the end of the turn that crashed. However it still didn't crash on my (fairly powerful) PC.
  15. Here you go dude: https://www.dropbox.com/s/4hotvqpfee5xvv3/Ashsh al-Dababir (CMSF2-MinFix).btt?dl=0
  16. Look for 'Javelin ATGM Launcher' in the Acquire Panel:
  17. Nah.....NATO definitely got into Damascus, I had Brits running around there the other day. An abortive invasion of Iran is the obvious sequel.....IMHO it would make a decent game too, we could expand & extend the TOE by a couple of years and some serious thought could be given to extending the Uncon options. Bigger formations based on the CM:A Mujahideen Battalion & Tribal Group could be the basis for various militias (& tribal groups). Your work on the Turks could be integrated, as I'm sure they'd get themselves involved, as might Azerbaijan. IMHO it would make a stonking game.
  18. @Ultradave The Save Game files posted by @Halmbarte load & run on my PC and the scenario itself does not crash when run on my PC. After @Halmbarte's intital difficulties I checked the scenario and uploaded a fresh copy. When he downloaded that version, it too crashed at the 30 minute point.....I couldn't see anything in the editor and the crash does not occur on my PC.
