  1. I actually have a fair few of the Zvezda figures, they are very nicely done, just wish there were more figures in more poses. These are my personal favourites: Zvezda make good stuff (as long as it's Russian, Soviet or German).
  2. They don't need warheads or sophisticated control systems really, a few hundred MiG.19 drones on auto-pilot, with several dozen J-16s & J-16Ds mixed in, would be the end of Taiwan's overt air-defence capabilities.
  3. Indeed, but it could still be done, for those wanting to make scenarios in an alternative timeline (a putative immediate future war, for instance).
  4. I've just been messing with a very large swastika shaped structure in CM:SF2.....Moon MOUT for the use of. Ditched the initial version as would have been a pig to make it interconnect properly and it didn't look sufficiently 'moon-basey'.....But it could definitely be done with a bit of planning & forethought.....CM:SF2 is probably the best best for something this mad, Uncons would greatly add to the fun..
  5. You are tempting me to try something 'a bit barking' in the editor again. How is the moon handled by the CM skybox? Would it be possible to replace it with the earth, possibly with a functioning terminator? Would it be possible to drop CM WWII flags, faction names ,uniforms, weapons & voice files straight into CM:BS, CM:CW or CM:SF2 depending on when exactly it was set? I think this one might actually be doable by the fans.....It's not that much madder than 'H&E'. But it sure would be fun!
  6. The recent US arms transfers to the Ukraine can be modelled too.....Just 'Dismount' a few Strykers in the editor. PS - I suspect it would be very simple to replace the GUI 'Card' for the game's MQ-1 Gray Eagle with one representing a Bayraktar TB2, @37mm's replaced most of the Red aircraft and all of the Blue drones in CM:SF2 'H&E' (with spotter planes in that instance). In game you would never notice the difference.
  7. More from 'War On The Rocks' discussing the growth in Chinese military power: https://warontherocks.com/2021/11/the-malacca-dilemma-growing-chinese-military-power/
  8. It appears the boot is on the other foot in the Afghanistan 'War On Terror': https://warontherocks.com/2021/11/brutally-ineffective-how-the-taliban-are-failing-in-their-new-role-as-counter-insurgents/
  9. Dragging ourselves back to the original subject, here's War On The Rocks' take on the idea (from US Army perspective): https://warontherocks.com/2021/11/the-uncomfortable-reality-of-the-u-s-armys-role-in-a-war-over-taiwan/
  10. Good call, that's the one.....The original Dana would be very cool in CM:CW, it's spot on for the period.
  11. No, it means Hornets' (or Wasps') Nest. And how would that help me to comprehend the TOE & Organistion of Iraq's CTS in order to create a (I hope) reasonably convincing (Arabic speaking) unit (with HMMWVs, MRAPs & M1 Abrams) for the player to use (with no mods)? That was all @Combatintman.....He gave me the idea (actually he made the original core for me) and I messed with it for ages until I could get it to work just how I wanted, maintaining C2 (as best as CM:SF1 permitted). Not sure where a historian would have had any great utility for me there.....Suspect their eyes would have glazed over when I started waffling on about there not being enough AI Groups TBH. Give it a rest fella, admit that you did the man a disservice and let it go.....An apology really wouldn't hurt TBH.
  12. Have to add to the 'Get The Bundle' chorus.....It's stonking good value, probably the most comprehensive bundle of all (although CM:SF2 packs some serious goodies too).
  13. You don't get support like that with Cyberpunk 2077!
  14. So it has.....He has a real talent for making threads that get locked, but TBH this one's as much on me as it is on him.
  15. So which historian would you suggest could have helped me write 'Ashsh Al Dababir', while the fighting on the ground was still actually going on (albeit in West Mosul by that point)? While I'm not the type of person to 'thank someone for their service' (as a rule, there are exceptions), I do very much value the unique insights & perspectives of former & current sevice personell (even if we disagree). Yours.....Not so much.
  16. You didn't criticize the game, you accused a long standing veteran (of both the forum and the armed forces) of something that would be a criminal offence were he a US citizen. PS - As I suspect this forum is hosted in the US, he could probably sue you off the face of the planet.
  17. Danas (or maybe Zuzanas) by the look of em: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/152mm_SpGH_DANA
  18. Never ever seen that.....Will try your file and then try to reproduce it.
  19. Doing far, far too many things already, but I will in the future, you can count on it.....In fact, as I said elsewhere, this mod would probably persuade me to make a second CM:RT install, just for early-mid war stuff. I really like grey panzers.....Especially when I'm smashing them to bits with KVs, but sadly that bit we won't be able to do.
  20. The Syrians wouldn't allow Al Qaeda to launch a 'dirty-bomb' attack on the west from their territory either, but that didn't stop it from making a bloody fine basis for a game! Now wouldn't those look lovely steaming through some really hilly terrain, or maybe a ruined city? Of course, if you had some of these: You would blow them to bits! But if you do too well, these guys might show up: And then you'd need to ask this lot for some help: Now wouldn't that be a lot more fun than shooting up Chinese Marines in a big minefield? PS - @dragonwynn Now is your time.....Surely?
