  1. I don't think Gunzel's problem was the graphics. It's what he is spending time doing with his right hand, hasn't anyone told him yet that he could go blind?
  2. Thanks PondScum (man that just doesn't sound right) appreciate the response. Time to go shopping again or consider actually building my own and going with a desktop.
  3. Considering upgrading the laptop as well. Am in the same boat as others in that a desktop just ties me too much to the desk I sit at all day for work (I telecommute). Not particularly appealing. Have been looking at this http://www.amazon.com/NH570-Intel-Core-620M-Serial/dp/B003TTM69M/ref=sr_1_11?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1304382319&sr=1-11 Looks to be a good deal but not being a PC guru I figure there is probably something I am missing here that would impact preformance that isn't just an issue of speed or RAM.
  4. Yeah really. About all I can say is wow, just writing that must have been hard much less thinking it up. That must be some serious medication.
  5. I think Michael's point was that the US intelligence community has been convinced for some time that he was in Pakistan and in one of the news reports they actually said that this was the type of facility they expected. They also note they are still convinced Mullah Omar is also in Pakistan, possibly Karachi. In looking at recent history, the top leaders of Al Qaeda who have been killed or captured have all been in Pakistan. I don't think it is a far stretch to say that considering the relationship between Pakistan's military, the Taliban, Al Qaeda and other terrorist organizations that it is any huge surprise to find him where they did.
  6. wow damn this is at best embarassing. Hey BFC, take your time. I think you can be pretty certain that we won't be held to any standards of maturity if the game isn't absolutely 100% however any individual defines it to be ready.
  7. In the words of the great engineer Scotty "you didn't tell em how long it would REALLY take did you?!!"
  8. Looks like there is still some fine tuning, but interesting that a version used for a recent public AAR is already considered ancient. I think I would prefer to wait as the BFC team seems to be moving quite fast on improving the game over what we have been able to see.
  9. I'll probably be wearing depends and forgotten my login...daily. There will be a "were the Germans better" thread of about 38 gazillion gig of text and we'll all be asking when the module is being downloaded to our cerebral wifi link.
  10. Get her an all day spa treatment. It may gouge you wallet, but she'll love you for it AND you get to have all day in front of the computer.
  11. Wake up with the King! For those of you in the rest of the world and haven't been psychologically traumatized by this
  12. Now now, recognizing that International corporations rarely consider the national interests of any country before their own profit margins is not the same as trying to blame America for anything. The way I read the previous statement about General Motors was that they ran businesses in Germany until we went to war, then took a tax write off for loss of the business. The bit about collecting the reparations for the damaged facilities - now that you have to give them some credit for in terms of underhanded dealing. Actually not a particularly surprising tale and one that can likely be repeated in dozens of wars in dozens of countries by corporations and governments everywhere. Want to see something really twisted - read the section on WW2 on the wiki page for Siemens. Imagine a Nazi party member making a concerted effort to stop the rape of Nanking. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siemens Another good one - Giap turned in a competitor in the Vietnamese independence movement to French Security forces in Shanghai. We humans are a strange complicated group.
  13. Not Coca Cola, not the people who taught the world to sing in perfect harmony!! You cruel cynical monster!
  14. LOL I had to google it myself, but at least I have an excuse of being from the country confused about what is football. Anyway it is Stanley Cup time and my hometown and my current home are both in it. Life is good.
  15. that's one happy refresh monkey who has ditched the keyboard.
  16. Guess you better hope that whatever wounds you doesn't knock you unconscious or you're getting left for dead. :-O
  17. Heh didn't see that. Was just hoping to get someone pissed about another game to complain over there and stop muddling our frantic love fest of waiting here.
  18. Here is a site that may help, see the country guide section. Good luck. When it comes to taxes, you can pretty much count on it not being in your favor. http://www.dutycalculator.com/help_center/Import-duty-and-taxes-explained-in-a-nutshell/
  19. unfortunately that happens quite a bit, in what country are you located?
  20. Actually that is the case. TOW is produced by 1C not BFC. I can't speak to any experience with their product or support. You may want to post your concerns about that product over here - http://www.battlefront.com/community/forumdisplay.php?f=122 In the meantime, over here you are just gonna have to wait like the rest of us for a product that does have support and a very avid community of users who are maybe a bit too frantic waiting for it's release, but hey it's our time to waste how we want.
  21. dang hippies Yes CM developed wego specifically because we are all getting too old for RTS exclusive games. We fall asleep in the middle of a game and in an RTS we would get slaughtered.
  22. No- posting twice on a forum for a game you have no interest in that you won't wait is stupid.
