  1. Hey guys, I already owned the retail version of CMSF. Yesterday I bought the 3 module bundle (marines,UK and Nato) and installed it. For whatever reason it doesn't show the NATO scenarios or campaigns when I start the game. I checked the CMSF folder, and the files for all missions are there. It gets even weirder, because in quick battles I can select all three Nato Forces. But ingame the scenarios and campaigns are just not existing. I installed the game in this order: - CMSF retail -1.10 update - 3 module bundle installer It even asks me for the NATO module license and accepts it, yet never shows the missions as available ingame, although I have the NATO module button being shown in the left corner of the main menu. I reinstalled twice and made sure the module are not being blocked by Avira. The Marines and UK module work perfectly. Thanks in advance for all answers. I really hope someone has the answer to this problem. Greetings, Arrad
  2. Isn't that the same website that listed CM:BN for release on May 17th a couple of days ago? My guess is that they are just guessing
  3. Damnit! Being the overexcited doofus I am, I was so eager to play the game on my laptop, I totally skipped the first patch -.- Problem solved, sorry for bothering you guys.
  4. Hey guys, today my new notebook arrived and I thought it might be a good idea to install CMSF and play around with it for a bit. Now I'm enountering serious problem. For one, the whole game menue is laggy. It takes years until the option I selected is opened and confirmed. Additionally the whole letters are somewhat blurry, plus, when I play a scenario th game is incredibly laggy and the ground is basically just plain black, though I can see the units and houses on it. This one is the notebook I'm using : http://www.notebooklieferant.com/packard-bell-easynote-ts11hr-122gege.html EDIT: I just realised that right now, everytime I'm starting a scenario, the game freezes during the briefing and whenever I try to left or right click, CMSF just stops working and I crash back to the desktop. Any help is really appreciated. Thanks in advance, Arrad
  5. Okay guys, thanks for all your help and your advices. I've decided to go for the first one as most of you recommended it. I'll sure have a lot of fun with it and CM:BN
  6. Hey Guys, okay I really want to buy my new notebook on friday and right now I have three different ones in my closer view. The first one is the one I mentioned in my first post. Second one: http://www.amazon.de/Packard-Bell-EasyNote-LS11HR-195GE-Notebook/dp/B004OR10PY Thrid one: http://www.packardbell.de/pb/de/DE/content/model/LX.BS002.002 From what I understand, all should be capable of playing CM:BN, but which one do you think fits the task best? Thanks in advance. Greetings, Arrad
  7. Hey guys, although my actual computer should be good enough to play CM:BN, I'm thinking about buying myself a notebook that's good enough for running the game on medium - good settings (just for the sake of playing comfortable on the couch ). I have to say that I'm really not what you could call experienced in terms of computer technology so I really need your help. After a bit of research I have found that one: http://www.notebooklieferant.com/packard-bell-easynote-ts11hr-122gege.html The website is in german but it shouldn't be a problem to figure the specs of the machine If you have any suggestions for another notebook, go ahead Btw. it shouldn't be too expensive, just good enough for running CM with average or above average graphics. Thanks in advance and looking forward to the release  Greetings, Arrad
  8. I'm German and I would like to sign mostly everything the other guys said. Showing the youth the horrors of the Nazi Regime is a big part of the education system. I really like how that matter is took care of here: No one is trying to cover up anything and the full truth is revealed. I think we spent a really huge amount of time in history class with this "dark" time of Germany. The reasons are obvious and have been mentioned before: It's all about prevention. Of course there is still a certain amount of nazis around, but it surely is a minority as in most other countries, too. As for the statement of nazis being mostly in the former DDR, I'm not too sure about that, as I live in the West. From what I hear and see, I think they are rather fairly spread around. Sure there are some hotspots here and there, especially in certain corners of Germany, but mostly in the East? I don't know. As for certain signs involved in WW2 and in the game, they are not forbidden if they are used for educational reasons. You will find these signs in every German History book. They are just not allowed if no education is involved. I mean think about it: Years of abuse of these signs and so many people suffered under that regime. Of course it is seen as an intolerable insult to those people who suffered, if signs that once were connected to this regime are shown just for fun's sake. Of course that's slightly overdone and ridiculous if games that try to be historical accurate, suffer from these laws, but to me as a German it's somewhat plausible and understandable. But on the other side I also understand those who think it's laughable in terms of historical accurate video games that, in no way, try to glorify the Third Reich.
  9. Well there are several opinions on that and the results concerning Vista+Cm1 titles differ greatly. There is a Vista patch for CMBB and CMAC, but it's not free and costs 5 bucks I think. If you want to know if the game runs on your machine, try out the Vista patch demo. Don't have the link for it, but it shoudln't be hard to find. But except that, nobody can really say. Until now it seems that to play CM1 titles you either need XP or Vista with special components. Some people playing on Vista can't even install the game, some have graphic bug or lag that make the game unplayable and some others, like me, only have few minor problems. What you should do is first check out the vista demo version. If that works, the game should be running good, too. Few tips if you try to install the game. Depending on your components it may take quite a while until the game even installs. Took me like 5 minutes until the setup even started. You should also try to avoid DX10 cards, as they seems to cause a lot of trouble. For more help you could go ahead and search in the forums or just google it up.
  10. Definately no mods I'm using. I'm basically playing vanilla CM. I just updated my drivers. Before I was using one of the 18XXX ones but switched to the newest one. Overall the FPS got better, but the game still stutters as soon as I see a tank. Though it just happens when I'm zooming in on them. I can't explain it. As soon as the tank is in my view, it takes a milisecond and then the fps jump back to normal. I have no clue how even ONE CM low-poly tank is able to lag this card while most modern games run perfect.
  11. Bump! This issue is getting really strange. I just played a scenario with a 3500 points russian army with infantry only. I had zero lag or framedrops, even if i set them up really close to eahc other. Then I play a 1500 points scenario with few infantry and 5 tanks and there are the framedrops and the stuttering again. I seriously have no clue how that it possible. I really need help, sp if anyone of you knows the answer please go ahead. EDIT: I noticed that this mainly happens when there are tanks around. When I zoom over the battlefield and there is infantry, nothing happens. As soon as a tank is getting visible, the framerate drops from 70 to 60 or sometimes 40 and then immediatly goes back to normal. Is that common? Is there any way to stop the tanks from lagging the game? EDIT2: Okay its definatly the tanks that are spoiling the game for me. As soon as I press shift+v to hid them, the game runs like a charm.
  12. LIES! All lies! Thanks for your answer to my question though. Made me chuckle Still the other question still exists: is anything else, except for the "invisible" fog, missing. Or just the fog and that's it?
  13. That seems to be my problem. I'm a Vista user (I didn't have an option or I would have chosen XP ). But you are correct, Schrullenhaft, really a strange reversal. Anyway, I guess as this is a typical Vista problem, there is no solution to it? I sure can live without fog (everything else runs fine), but is there anything else not working properly? Like missing rain and snow? Or no cloudy weather? Or is it just the missing fog? This may be a stupid question, but the fog is still there from a techincal point of view, it's just not visible right?
  14. It's me me again with a problem guys I just noticed I have no visible fog in the game itsself. I made sure it was switched on via the hotkeys and enabled this fog table thingy with RivaTuner. Still no fog. I thought this was an issue exclusively with ATI graphic cards and not NVIDEA ones. In case you overread it in the title, I got a 275 GTX. I would be really thankful for any answers on this topic, as I tried out everything that I know could have been wrong. I even restarted the computer after switching the fog table thing on.
  15. Hey guys. Got a little problem with my framerates during playing. Oddly enough it usually only happens when I scroll over a lot of units. I got a 275 GTX and Vista 64bit so that shouldn't be the problem. I remember playing the game on an older Graphic Card and I never had any problems. I'm not the kind of computer tech guy, so I have no clue where to start looking for the problem. Would it help running the game in compatibility mode for XP? EDIT: It's not that the game is unplayable for me, it's just slight stuttering. It's nothing serious but its getting on my nerves.
