  1. He could just climb into his freezer and play the game.
  2. That is pretty interesting. In testing I was finding the T34 85s were kicking my butt to such a degree I started to develop a complex as bad as my Western Front one for Tigers. I eventually got over it, but still have a very healthy fear of them. The 76mms version however is a whole other issue. They spot much worse and don't have the punch.
  3. wow we wasted 7 pages extolling the game and the "substance" turns out to be all BS eye candy? Yeah the game is worth it, but I feel like I just wasted a portion of my life participating in this thread. Deejay, I want my time back!!!
  4. I'm too old for that. I stick with wego and I don't need no stinkin super mouse...(Not that I could use it even if I had it ). You youngsters and your smarty ass toys dangnabbit. Get off my grass mod!
  5. Well we should have the 3.0 upgrade before too long. It would be nice to see that followed by a pack maybe to take advantage of some of the new features.
  6. Hard one to call. Some features could drastically alter game play (I am thinking changed FO behavior here). One wonders if the school of hard knocks will be fundamentally altered or not. Maybe later players will wonder what all the noise was about. The tweak for AT guns is another that could potentially impact some scenarios. Not sure if anyone has gone back to CMBN scenarios to see how infantry close combat and AT weapon changes impacted earlier scenarios. The changes for hull down spotting is another. I also expect you might see new versions of some scenarios when BF releases the packs for CMBN - flamethrowers would be real interesting to see in the Arnhem battles. With BF working to keep the game engine up to date across all the families it will be interesting to see how this plays out over time. The issue I will run into is I never completed a lot of the content in even CMBN so lord knows how they may play out compared to the designers original intent when I get around to playing those.
  7. and I am gonna beg you every friggin day to re do Task Force Panther for it.
  8. Funny I was thinking about this and realized almost all I do with CMFI right now is map making and it is still worth every cent. I hope to turn those maps into scenarios, but even if I don't I still am getting more than my money's worth. My only CM complaint is I just don't have enough friggin time! And I still roll out CMSF periodically despite it not having all the capabilities the post CMBN games do. Can't wait till CMSF gets re done.
  9. Here you go. Nice description and helpful hints on how to get a better quality shot. I have had this bookmarked for a really long time - thank Sergei for putting it together. http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=97288
  10. gawd I never did finish that one. Brutal, absolutely brutal
  11. That could be interesting - a "stance" button that as you hit it would cycle through default/prone/kneeling and standing. This could actually help with some of the terrain issues with trenches, crests on those half meter depressions etc.
  12. There will be a demo. Perhaps it is just poor communication, but I am picking up a certain negativity in your tone (and I guess I wasn't the only one). If true I'd suggest you wait for the demo.
  13. He isn't the messenger. This was already posted and discussed in another thread. He just has an axe to grind which is the only reason I can see for reposting something with none of the commentary (very civil by the way) of various people on it already. Can you think of any logical reason for doing so?
  14. yeah, here. Not sure why it needs it's own thread especially without including any of the comments already made. http://www.battlefront.com/community/showpost.php?p=1517396&postcount=4 Oh wait, now I remember why that signature looks so famliar. He was in this thread - it's the guy with a chip on his shoulder about the cartoon network. http://www.battlefront.com/community/showthread.php?t=113434&page=5
  15. but it has the same problem. I don't think the charge would go through as I can not set my state on the billing address, nor can I just leave it blank.
  16. I think there are powers that could accomplish that for you.
  17. Nice job, my only suggestion would be to turn off icons while recording. Beyond that I love watching the detail in this game too. Wished I had thought to record some stuff I only grabbed screenshots of at the time.
  18. As just one example, check out the Studienka map. Not only is it a great fight, the map itself is simply amazing and I can pretty much guarantee you won't think you are in Western Europe.
  19. And you need to fix the state drop down!!! I select US, but I only get Australian territories. GAJ, fix or do sumfink!
  20. That would have worked better as an April Fools joke with your name attached to a thread title like this. Now you are stuck forever as another one of those guys with a flamer subject line thread to your name. BTW BF is going to block your IP.
  21. Can't speak for anyone else, but generally I find that I design based on an idea and play the more active side and try to set up a reasonable AI defense for it. If I flip sides I find it really hard to now get the AI to do a reasonable job. Part of this is because I expect the player to use the full range of options in their kit (smoke, demo charges, suppressive fire) and the AI is incapable of that. Net result - One side is a real fight, the other becomes generally an opportunity to beat up on the AI. Keep in mind I am still learning and other more experienced designers probably have a lot more success at balance.
