    I finished designing my second scenario.
     
    The setting is that a US infantry platoon+ assaults a Russian mortar battery and battalion HQ at a gas station outside Cherkasy. The challenge for the player is to quickly cause a lot of damage to the Russian target formations and then retreat before he is overrun by the Russian reinforcements.
     
    The map is semi-fictional. It is inspired by a real world location but I changed the scale and some other things.
     
    Blue vs. AI only, H2H might work but I have not tried it.

    I have played the game, but nowhere nearly as much as I'd like to be able to. When I get CMH sorted out, I'll be PBEMing with SLIM, too. Nor does it follow that simply because I don't have much play experience it means I can't attack game issues from the standpoint of military analysis, known real world events, veterans' accounts and other means. I have clearly stated my views many times on what should be doable in CM: everything our forebears could. See, for example what I said on pushing ATGs and the case I made thereto, as well as the carefully documented arguments I've mounted in support of on-map Indirect fire from weapons such as the leIG 18 and the sIG-33. Also, I did much the same thing which helped make the case for reining in the previously unholy abilities of tanks to instantly spot and kill infantry close assaulting, something BFC subsequently did, to the considerable benefit of game realism. And since when do you get to decree I have no right to state my views? As long as I do so within the parameters of the Forum Rules, I can and shall. Best get used to it.

    What is the point of typing anything with that mindset, if you think nothing will ever change what is the point of complaining and whining about it in every single thread, I would have no problem with it if you went from saying "BFC DRM is horrible it needs to be fixed immediately" to "BFC DRM is horrible here is what I think can be done to improve it".
     
    One makes you sound like you are just whining, especially when its every single post you make, and the other is constructive and applies a new point of view. I have been critical of BFC on many a topic, but when I did complain I like to think I tried to suggest something afterwords instead of just saying "this sucks".

    Just finished this one, and even on elite is was way too easy. And that was my first major tank battle in a modern era CM-game so I expected to fall flat on my face. Maybe I got lucky. The first UAV spot was an SPAA that was taken out by precision arty. That let my UAVs and Apaches roam free. And it was really simple to pick off target after target with precision arty (too much of it?). And they remained stationary all the same. The tanks that made it to face me, quickly got shot to pieces or their "lasing" made my tanks retreat to safety. The few shots on target were repelled by APS. All in all I lost two Bradleys and two Abrams to immobilization (despite dry ground conditions). That's about it. Then I started getting large reinforcements so I expected a major counter attack, but then all of a sudden I got a total victory with 33 minutes left.
     
    So, in all, the scenario was a bit of a disappointment for lack of challenge. The only really troublesome event was (something I really liked) when the AI tried to flank me already after 10 minutes. The map is great, and with some alterations to the difficulty, it would warrant a replay.

    Hey guys, so I felt like making some mixed camo that is seen in the current conflict for the Ukrainian army figured I might as well release them to you guys as well. It overrides the standard uniform. Have fun.

    You really are a piece of work.  I guess it is just beyond you to understand the inherent difficulties in creating a TAC AI.  You want what you want when you want it and if you don';t get it you will have a hissy fit until mommy.. oops I mean BF caters to you.  Yeah I am getting a bit more aggressive in response.  Considering you have displayed the same attitude in both threads it is clear your eventual goal is to get banned by BF as you certainly have the level of negativity and nasty social behavior that typically ends there.
     
    Yes it IS asking a bit much for $50 if you had any inkling at all how difficult AI behavior is.  But you don't and therefore feel that a $50 game should have a human response level AI.
     
    Feeling entitled is such an incredible thing to watch.

    "The Allied invasion of Sicily is well underway and the German forces has been more or less overrun by British forces in this sector. A small group of Germans has been isolated behind enemy lines and has for the past few days tried to make their way back to friendly forces. But finding a gap in the allied front without being spotted has proven difficult. The group has moved more or less by night but are now out of food and water and desperately need to make it back. In a final attempt they decide to move in the morning light. In the distance they hear the distinct sound of AA guns, and they spot a Focke-Wulf thundering past overhead. There is a forward observer in the group and luckily - the radio still works.   The group decides that the last chance to make it back to their own lines is to try to punch through this AA position and exit to the north. Taking out the position would probably also take the pressure off Luftwaffe in their approach to the airfield in Gerbini."   Small fictional scenario. My first try at scenario making. Axis vs. AI only.     I played this on Elite and got a total victory. I really like the map and the setting, but would have liked some more background concerning all the landmarks on the map. Why are they there and so on. I also like the "trick" of having four AI versions. Don't know what to call the one I got, but feel it was too easy, or I just got lucky. As for the set up phase, I guess all the TRPs are there becaus of the different variants. So one mortar with just 22 rounds was a bit underwhelming. Maybe add another one to use before the Strykers arrive. I got beaten up pretty bad initially and was expecting an onslaut and for sure some heavy vehicles. But once the AT-guns were dealt with, there was little to worry about. I thought there would be more pressure on the victory locations. Especially as there was a real sense of urgency initially. The main problem was how the AI was set up for the assault on the primary location, as they would just pour through the breach with the crater to be gunned down mercilessly. In the end they were so tired the walked up to the breach.I don't know if it is possible to make the AI "blast", but the troops that went around the perimeter to the trenches fared much better. Maybe an more even balance between these two approaches, as it would make it much harder to defend.
     
    But overall, a fine scenario that can get even better. Maybe the other AI variants are harder.

    Yes you can...
     
     
    If you load your scenario into the editor and go to the UNITS TAB (puchase axis)...
     
    - Expand the 1st battalion with the + sign on the far left in the right list
     
    This will open up and show you the units directly attached to 1st battalion...
     
     
    - HQ team
    - Kubelwagen
    - 1. Company
    - FO team
    - light machinegun
    - light machinegun
     
    Left clicking on either 1st battalion or 1st Company will add - A YELLOW ARROW - to the right of that formation-name...
     
    This YELLOW ARROW shows where any additional SPECIALIST TEAMS you might want to add to your force will be assigned right now...
     
    At this point you will be able assign any specialist team you want from the list on the left to either 1st battalion or 1st Company...
     
     
    For example...You now have the FO team and two light machinegun team as well as the 1st Company HQ directly assigned to 1st battalion HQ...
     
     
    To have those two light machineguns assigned to 1st Company instead of 1st battalion...
     
    DO THIS....
     
    - Delet the two light machinegunteams from your list on the right.
    - leftclick on the 1st Company in the list to the right...This will put the YELLOW ARROW to the right of 1st Company name....1st Company is now selected for any attachments you might want to give it...
    - Buy two new light machinegunteams from the list on the left (make sure that the left list is set to SPECIALIST TEAM and not FORMATIONS) by double leftclicking the light machinegun in that list..
    - Do this twice...
     
    and now you will have two light machineguns assigned to 1st company instead of 1st battalion...
     
    To for example remove the snipers currently asigned to the mortar section HQ...
     
    - Expand 1. Company in the list to the right by using the + sign to the left of it...
    - Expand the mortar section by clicking the + sign
    - delete the two sniper teams
     
    ....
     
    leftclick on the 1st pioneer platoon in the list to the right to move THE YELLOW ARROW behind that
    - Buy a new sniperteam from the list on the left....
     
    now you have a sniperteam directly assigned to 1st platoon......
     
     
     
    I hope this explanation makes some sence....This is really very easy once you get a hang of it....
