  1. Now that is how to promote inter-service harmony....
  2. I am 16 turns into one and its working great. If you are up for a game, or you just want to process a couple of turns to troubleshoot, send me a private message. You are using Dropbox right?
  3. If you possibly can cover the lines of retreat as well. Shooting the panicked ones as they try to escape to the next house seems to have morale effects.
  4. There have been long threads about using lasers for spoofing purposes, but apparently no one has fielded any hardware for this purpose. At this time getting lased means something has LOF and is about to ruin your day. Reacting makes a great deal of sense, there is no missile or main gun round out there that is going to make your track work BETTER.
  5. Simple phase lines would seem useful here. The scenario designer should state, explicitly, that your flanks cannot be secured past phase line purple until time X. This reflects the pace of operations to your flanks.
  6. Its a bigger problem when your tracks are burning wrecks!
  7. This makes the Abrams even more effective doesn't it? MBTs generally even? I assume its still not going to let a Bradley or BMP-3 survive a main gun round.
  8. So the vehicle death rate is somewhat too high currently?
  9. I think they did that for a combination of game balance, and to reflect a variety of real world threats to helicopters they didn't want to directly simulate. The real world complexity of ECM, HARM missiles, and god knows what else in both directions must be staggering. If Apaches had a reasonable probability of dumping all sixteen missiles unopposed it would be a clean game winner in almost all scenarios. Doubly so when the Hellfire trajectory gets fixed and it usually comes in above APS. You can test this, don't give the Russians any AA. Fortunately the Tunguska is so useful against ground targets it almost always worth buying one.
  10. People seem to be seeing straight through a rather substantial set of tree tops in both directions. Save avalaible. And to add insult to injury the other guy is shooting better. Or are thermals THIS good.
  11. There is an inherent problem with a nice tight key hole, but slow aim.
  12. If Russia's leadership was aware of the risk of such conflict there would not be ~5,000 dead people in southeastern Ukraine. They got Crimea for almost nothing and didn't have the sense to quit while they were ahead. Now the best case scenario is a slow bleed on their entire geopolitical position, blood, and treasure. If there is an end in sight I can't see it.
  13. When admitting you are not going to get the whole loaf can bring down governments on both sides of a conflict truly bad things can happen. Bad, bad things. Like the last three years of the First World War kind of bad. Nobody got anything out of the conflict after the fall of 1914 that was worth what they paid in blood and treasure.
  14. You can't expect the air-force to work that hard....
  15. Turn off ALL your anti-virus and try again. If that doesn't work open a help ticket, the link is on the website, not the forum, yes, thats confusing.
  16. When main gun rounds start going off almost any rational civilian is going to find the deepest available whole and stay in it. And these little crossroads towns are pretty much flat when the elephants are done stomping around. Its a harsh business.
  17. The other thing that is just floating out there is the Baltic States. Their independence drives the Russians nuts, and they have black letter Article 5 treaty protection. Nothing could possibly go wrong......
  18. Dancing between tree lines to stay ahead of the bad guys spotters and trying to get a shot off is fun.
  19. I have DropBox and have used for PBEM before. Anybody got a link to the helper program for Mac?
  20. Mortar them, seriously. Competent troops competently emplaced are going to make you pay to dig them out. Very close support with thermal equipped vehicles can be effective if possible, but even with APS its risky
  21. Part of the slowness is the narrow field of view. It has to scan around and around as the search area gets bigger. The ones I have used worked fine for me, got many precision arty tank kills. What can be very tricky is things moving fast through their field of view, they can miss that. It is also expensive to assume some place is still empty because you checked it 20 minutes ago.
  22. Shameless bump. The semi random difficulty of getting my Javelins in action is the one pesky little flaw in a game that approaches perfection otherwise. Fantastic job overall, but, but.....
  23. The whole Ukrainian mess, real and fictional, is a pyrrhic victory for whoever wins. Both sides are going to be poorer, fewer and less happy than before. It just that the losers are going to be much MORE unhappy. Which the winner will find satisfying, but rather insufficient compensation.
