  1. In that case it's what StikkyPixie says. Be aware also that a high spec machine plus mods plus a bit of photoshop can make CMBN screenshots look very different to what you might be seeing.
  2. Mac or PC? - there are a few graphical issues with some Macs with the Commonwealth Module. If you just have the base game then what spec is your machine?
  3. Personally I think that BFC should hire JuJu to design their UI. Okay , there is nothing wrong with the original UI, but JuJU's version just seems so much more in keeping with the feel of the game. [With Marco's help of course]
  4. What about 'The Whiner' (or perhaps the 'Whinger')? Someone like myself who perpetually moans about something going wrong for him with the game mechanics that results in his losing out to his opponent. OR PERHAPS... the 'I Never Seem to Win' guy... Again, like me, someone who believes CMBN has been purposely designed to illuminate his failings as a military tactician? BTW - I only have mild cases of both these afflictions.
  5. I've had units sit there with the hands up for 20 turns of more. Not sure why this is?
  6. If I had a £1 for the number of times my mother phones me up panicking that she can't move her wireless mouse on screen I'd be a rich (well, richer) man than I am now. And every time I have the same reply - "have you checked the battery?" and my mother always answers: "oh really? do you think it could be that?"
  7. I've found that C2 can come and go for no 'apparent' reason - but I'm sure it is something to do with the game mechanics.
  8. speculation maybe - but a good point.
  9. I felt this was the case with the base game - but couldn't find a way to test it properly. Not sure if it is still the same in CW.
  10. Mind you... the CW module doesn't look so great on my Mac (but I think it's just my graphics card that doesn't like 1.10) Although I have dropped the setting to BEST/IMPROVED so that the screenshot was clear enough, it looks just like this when set to BEST/BEST in game. A far cry from my previous screenshot.
  11. Can't see a way to do that, but there should be a few clues from the way spotting works at each skill level. You could save the game and then start from scratch to see which settings were last used?
  12. Tone down the colour a little in Photoshop and I think that the un-modded game looks great, even on a 5 year old iMac.
  13. Now, here's an interesting point: I do better at CMBN than the previous CMx1 incarnation. By nature I am a cautious player, and this seems to pay off in CMBN. Even a single casualty grinds with me. My best advice is: Scout, scout and scout again!
  14. With the release of CW: are there any new loading images snuck in among the ones we all know and love?
  15. Okay, I was only reading from the scenario briefing which states Canadian II Corps???
  16. I had a look at the village depicted in 'Linking Up and Breaking Out", where Axis forces fight to keep a corridor open whilst being attacked by both American and Canadian forces from North and South - and I discovered that two streets are named after the event: Rue des Americains & Rue des Canadiens Cool. P.S. Great Scenario - they seem harder this time around.
  17. Playing against the AI (which I usually do well against) and got surprised by 2 fast moving Cromwells - boy, those things shift!
  18. I have seen this behaviour work with halftrack gunners in 1.10. They now stand to fire and then duck down quickly - maybe this also applies to other vehicles?
  19. Para - Yes it is 'horrible' and it annoys me, but I assume that the 'ask for the money back' is a joke - ah - it is a joke, just spotted the wink emote. As we know the people at BFC are very good at listening to their customers and fixing issues. I'd prefer to help them solve it.
  20. There was a small problem with activation. Something to do with the BFC severs. I imagine that this has now been fixed - and if not BFC will sort you out with an alternative activation very swiftly. So - - No Problem really. There are a few small Mac graphical issues that Phil is sorting out but nothing that prevents gameplay.
  21. Is anyone else getting a few new graphical issues with the release of CW? I run Best/Best graphical quality and yet units' weapons disappear if the camera is slightly moved away from them. And if moved even slightly further I get the 'blockhead' effect. It is a disagreeable effect which wasn't apparent in 1.01. Am I alone with these issues?
  22. I'm running a late 2008 2.8 Ghz Core Duo iMac with: 256mb video memory - ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro OS 10.6.8 4GB RAM I pulled the 'Z' folder out and flickering continues. I am using my own edited version of 'Hotkeys Original' Video Settings: err... Sound: On V-Sync: ON 1920x1200 Anti-alias/Multisample: ON Quality: Better/Better High PRiority: OFF Left-Click: OFF P.S>I have noticed that the unit models drop to a lower quality at a closer distance than before - is this part of the 1.10 optimisation to improve Framerate?
