  1. A friend of mine is just starting to play CMBN on his Mac laptop. He only has a one-button mouse. Is there a quick way to end a movement turn without RIGHT-CLICKING? (please don't offer: 'buy a two-button mouse or a PC' as an answer - thanks)
  2. My Panzergrenadier squad keeps picking up a few 7.62mm AP rounds (maybe from a nearby halftrack??) every time they throw a grenade and then use those rounds in their Kar 98K rifles - are these rounds meant to be compatible with those rifles?
  3. I find that I miss out on all the wonderful fine detail that exists in CMBN if I don't micromanage - which is why I find RT games always somewhat unsatisfactory. Personally, I like to check out each of my units - their morale, experience, ammo levels etc.. this is when CMBN is at its most fun. To me CMBN has a slightly confused development direction. Perhaps I need to clarify a little: For me, Realtime mode seems more like an experimental add-on rather than a fully fledged game mode. I believe that it still needs a fair bit of development before it really shines in its own right. I think that quite a few players of games such as CMBN enjoy the minutia of wargaming (which is why I still mourn the loss of armour penetration tables from Cmx1) and I think that Realtime mode currently lacks the depth of involvement that players enjoy in WeGo mode.

  5. I am hoping that this is a problem that will be easily solved in future with additional floating information that the player can choose to toggle on and off.
  6. Wow - you have received quite a few replies with a negative bias, but I guess everyone has their own set of expectations. I have played both CMx1 and CMx2 and in my opinion CMBN is far superior. Sure, it does take a little more involvement to get the best out of it and there are still a few teething troubles, but I wouldn't return to the old CMx1 series. Personally I think CMBN brilliantly manages to maintain the tricky balance between a game and a simulation. I loved CMx1 and I think that CMBN is a worthy successor. Another plus point is that it will only get better as time goes on and new modules and updates are released.
  7. Ahhh - weird, but I'll check that out. If the bullet count can deplete during replay I don't see why grenade count cant?? Seems like it's something that could do with a tweak.
  8. When the CW module is released there will be a few holes in some of the excellent mods designed for the base game. I would particularly like to ask whether the following will be updating their mods for the CW module? 1) JuJu and his fabulous UI 2) Marco Bergman and those 'oh so useful' silhouettes 3) Bill and his Rank and Branch icons 4) Mike and his Vehicle's of War sounds 5) Niessuh's Icons and Unit Info 6) Veins and... well... pretty much everything else I know I haven't mentioned everyone but these are the Mods I think will be most effected by the CW module.
  9. No buddy aid involved in this issue at all. The problem is the lack of grenade depletion.
  10. I've played a few more turns and my squad's 'grenade count' isn't dropping when grenades are being used. There is no good reason for this as there are no nearby units to share ammo with. Is this a bug? 11 grenades at the beginning of the turn Still 11 grenades after the grenade is thrown
  11. Will BFC post a list of fixes and improvements before the CW module is released?
  12. What does "aka the game that clogged the RPS title cannon" mean? Did they mean 'canon'? Is it a play on words, or some wargaming jargon?
  13. They said 4-6 weeks. I think it has been just over 4 weeks. So I don't think we'll have to wait too long.
  14. 1) Are grenades listed individually in the ammunition levels menu? The reason I ask is that in a recent PBEM game my squad threw 2 grenades with no sign of ammo depletion. The only explanation I can come up with is that they grabbed the ammo from the dead soldiers of a nearby squad. And yet no buddy aid occurred??? 2) Is there an upper limit on the amount of ammo a squad/team can acquire? Can a 5 man team grab 10,000 rounds without incurring any movement penalty?
  15. I still feel that this aspect of CMBN needs tweaking... In my opinion this is just too much information for my armoured car to have gleaned within 2 seconds at 500m. He knows exactly what type of AT gun it is despite only catching a glimpse. Max zoom of Armoured car view:
  16. Having never purchased a Battlefront game Module add-on before (Mac Owner), these would be my expectations for a CMBN module: 1) A selection of new units and equipment 2) A couple of 'game mechanics' and/or 'gameplay' enhancements 3) Some new terrain features 4) A number of game fixes 5) Several new missions and a couple of campaigns 6) A short module handbook .pdf I don't know if this is reasonable, but it would be a package I would be very happy with. Mind you , you'll get few complaints from me - I'm just so happy I can play my favourite game on my Mac!
  17. It's in the sub-folder: Terrain Mod Pack V.2 > Options > Ground Grid ...there is also a separate HD grass mod in repository (by Aris) but I can't see a gridded HD version.
  18. JuJu - your UI mod is fabulous. I dearly hope you can manage to update it for CW module.
  19. Nice to see - BFC throws us a bone for couple of weeks while we wait for the CW module.
  20. If people are still having problems expanding the Aris texture pack then I am prepared to pop the whole expanded folder (approx. 340MB) into a dropbox. Just let me know and send me your email address.
  21. Despite being version 2 I think that it is actually just called Aris Texture Pack (parts 1 to 3): http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=fileinfo&id=1690 http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=fileinfo&id=1691 http://www.battlefront.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=314&func=fileinfo&id=1692
  22. yup - I always get the 'Strategic Command WWI The Great War v1.04 patch!!! BLUES' too.
  23. Here's the first and second half (for convenience). Please remember that this is only the contents of my 'Z' folder. There are plenty of other good mods out there.
  24. Thanks for the positive response. I'm just finishing the list now. I may create a complete mod list at some future date.
