  1. I know that AT teams were designed to use their small arms to fire at tanks in an attempt to kill exposed personnel. Yet, if there was a choice, I would prefer that AT teams completely lost the ability to fire small arms at armour (whilst they still have AT ammo) and only use their AT weapons instead. It would be far more preferable than the current situation where AT teams give their position away whilst out of range of their zooks or schrecks.
  2. As you can see from the image - it is the gunner and the commander who are claiming to be firing.
  3. You are probably quite right. I wasn't really thinking about specifics. I just thought that once in a while a medic might find a guy that could be returned to the battlefield.
  4. Might it be reasonable to give a wounded soldier who is currently being treated by a medic a very slim chance of returning to the 'lightly wounded' state? This might represent those wounded that were perhaps only in shock or whose wounds were not as bad as first thought. It would also provide a greater reward for those prepared to risk their troops by sending in medics. Too gamey? or reasonable? Thoughts?
  5. hmmm... well, the frequency of this issue is starting to bother me, but if what you say is true then maybe battlefront could prevent the unit from claiming that it is firing.
  6. The interesting thing about the 'aiming, firing' issue I experienced in the image above is that my Sherman was set to 'area fire'. I find it hard to imagine a situation where 'area fire' should cause the 'aiming, firing, aiming, firing...etc' issue??? Note: there was no smoke obscurement.
  7. Another example of the 'green text' displaying 'Firing' (using Vin's icons) and nothing happening. I hope this link works: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6598654/Firing-.jpg
  8. Wow! I've heard that some guys like 'em big - but that's just HUGE!
  9. I seem to be plagued by tanks that use the 'green text' to show that the gunner is 'aiming' and then 'firing' only to discover that nothing has come out of the barrel and that no ammo has been used. I've seen a few tanks (with a blue target line to an enemy vehicle) go through a series of 4 or 5 'aiming' and 'firing' messages per turn and yet just sit there like lemons. Do other players experience this? Am I doing something wrong?
  10. [see image] I've had such an advantage against my online opponents recently with my new flying tanks! (note - this is not a bug, just a graphical aberration due to my slow machine).
  11. I agree. I think unplayable units should be shown as 'routing' (as suggested they would do in the manual) and head off to the nearest friendly edge of the map post-haste.
  12. I notice that although Weapons Platoon HQ support units have radios they cannot sit with their mortar teams and receive fire missions. This seems a little odd - Am I wrong to imagine that the Weapons Platoon HQ should be able to call up his own support unit to request a fire mission? Can anyone explain?
  13. A couple of quick questions... 1) Are minefields boolean? i.e. are they either fully functional or completely destroyed, or can their effectiveness be partial, perhaps reduced by artillery? 2) Does anyone know whether it is possible to destroy or reduce the effectiveness of minefields with 60mm mortars?
  14. An arc that covers armour... sorry, couldn't resist. It's just like the current cover arc except units using it will concentrate on other armour and (generally) not shoot at infantry.
  15. I've been pretty much exclusively playing in We-Go format since CMBNs release, but just recently I thought I'd have a bash at RT. Wow - it's hard. I can't move my mouse fast enough to keep up with all the action. I don't have a clue as to the status or condition of any of my units and miss a large proportion of important events. So. This brings me to two points: 1) Does anyone have any advice? 2) Shouldn't there be more overhead (floating) information in RT mode? I remember that CM1 had a lot of options for overhead info - and it wasn't even a RT game.
  16. Just played it from the Allied side and I got the same result (total victory) but it took 9 mins 19 seconds this time. It's not a bug - just a very weird scenario.
  17. I downloaded the scenario 'APPLE JAM' by Michael Gonzalez to try out the Real-Time feature of CMBN. After spending 10 minutes organising the setup of my Axis forces I apprehensively pressed 'GO'. By the time I managed to scan the battlefield to take in the situation the battle had ended and the AAR screen had appeared. 3 mins and 2 seconds - Total Axis victory. That's got to be a record. Very amusing. But, I think I'd better try another scenario.
  18. Do you mean that none of the mods show up? Remember that they load up in alphabetical order. So some mods may overwrite others. If no mods are showing it is likely that it is something to do with their file paths or file names. On the Mac version the correct path is (and you need to 'show package contents' on the app to access the correct folders): Contents>Resources>Data>Z Best to double-check.
  19. Oh - I agree. We must have the red berets. I'm sure the mod community will sort this out. Perhaps CM can leave the mesh (or whatever it's called) for the beret in the game somewhere?
  20. I have run 'Pointe du Hoc' on my Mac. Admittedly I only loaded it to setup phase just to look around. So I do know it loads, but whether it plays is another question. Actually - I do remember that it sometimes quits when loading... not sure why, and doesn't happen all the time.
  21. I've downloaded about 20 scenarios from the repository and they all show up in the menu in my Mac version of CMBN. Perhaps the OP confused .btt files and .cam files?
  22. Can = YES How = Create an account and download like normal Do We = No - Everything that works for PC works for Mac too (YAY!)
  23. I helped my opponent set up his H2HH dropbox for CMBN. The strange thing is that every time I start H2HH it drops connection to our shared dropbox folder and I have to re-point H2HH to the correct folder. My opponent has just got in touch to say that his new opponent is also experiencing this problem when playing CMBN against him. Any Ideas?
  24. Maybe our peppering of comments has immobilised them? (sorry - couldn't resist).
